So true. We were homeless for nearly a year and couldnt find help from any church, charity and etc. Finally, a stranger allowed us to pay nominal rent to live in his office. Not every homeless person is a drug addict or criminal, folks. I hope this smart lady finds her way out soon.

I was in an abusive household when I was younger and was kicked out with nowhere to go. I still don’t even know how I managed to eat something every few days or day. Shelters were scarce and filthy and dangerous. Programs wanted me to admit I was a drug addict when I was sober and homeless. I do remember the worst part was not showering whenever I wanted. Had to find showers at parks with a swim lake, gyms, or sometimes a bowl with an outdoor faucet. I went from being a normal young student, to invisible. People assumed I had gotten myself there due to bad choices. Figured I deserved it. It was crazy. I’m grateful for the young man I met who actually cared for me like a human and not some homeless girl to take advantage of. Got me in an apartment and let me heal. I got counseling and joined a church. Finally married that young man and he takes care of our daughter and I. He turned out to be the sweetest most patient and caring man I’ve ever met. Great job. I have compassion and empathy to spare, but not for those that continue to burn their own lives down, and try to take the rest of us with them. Facts: they don't deserve it!

Let me get this straight. People are complaining that homeless people have a way of cooling off during the summer??? Are you serious?! Wow. These people should be ashamed of themselves. If the homeless aren't bothering anyone, then why complain? And why wasn't there any mention of how to help these people???

We are so quick to judge until we're faced with the same reality that this woman is going thru. Homelessness can happen to anyone of us at anytime. Life is uncertain, be thankful for who and what you have in your life. Be a blessing to someone today, tomorrow and forever....you could be that blessing they were praying for.

The problem is that she has the money to buy a pool. Why? If she has the money for a pool, there are services and they are being wasted. So much money is allocated to the homeless. So many services and supplies. And the problem is just getting worse. If the homeless wanted to get off the street, most would. But they want to live this way.

I can understand her point of view, but it’s really easy for us to say this kinda situation isn’t a big deal; people living close by that are effected by the crime rate have a right to feel differently. Honestly, most cities need more money going toward the homeless if this is ever gonna get fixed.

Personally, I don’t begrudge them having some comfort with this pool. But legally, it could be a problem. It needs maintenance to stay clean and supervision to protect against injuries or accidents, especially if children have access.

With the amount of job openings over the last two years I see many businesses constantly hiring that can't find enough workers paying far better than they did before COVID there is really no reason for anyone who is willing to work to be homeless for very long if at all!

I had a shooting where I live, and I am not homeless. I don't drink, I don't use drugs, and I homeschool my children. The shooters weren't homeless and the two houses that were hit were innocent people caught in gang violence. Violence and crime is up everywhere, isn't it? So why do these people deserve to be accountable for the failures of our system?
