That one way path you followed the entire game is very open world
I thought the exact same thing. Looks about as "open world" as the Star Wars Jedi games.

The games are getting dumber and dumber. In principle, there is nothing new anymore. The only improvements are in the graphics. The gameplay is old-fashioned.
aint no way this will be open world like gta, this is ubisoft and it will most likely be a scripted open world that give you the illusion of choise with small maps to explore for things like resource.

Assassin's creed is open world and it's an ubisoft game. No the map isn't as large as GTA, but it's definitely open world.
GTA5 single player doesn't give you much choice either. The story is written and you might get some variance but the options are always limited.
At least until they design a single player game. With AI writing the story as you progress. I suppose some day that game might actually exist, but today choice in any single player narrative. Choice is only an illusion. Like one of those old adventure stories. Where after each choice. You'd flip to page that corresponds with your choice.
Enfant should have started with the segment at 30:00.
This initial demo content is in no way like GTA 6. It is, however, very similar to the Uncharted series in its fighting mechanics, level design, traversal mechanics, weapon looting, and shooting mechanics w/ a decent cover option. The sneak / stealth mechanic looks decent.
The game clearly opens up in a compelling way, with syndicate relationships, inter-space travel, locomotion on land with your speeder (which supports combat), and some other nice surprises - like a WANTED system with the Empire. I suspect this follows you across the galaxy.
The space flight is okay, if a bit underwhelming. Hopefully visual fidelity increases during space-to-landing action. At least there are no loading screens (Bethesda). Though ship combat needs to feel significantly more visceral.
Still lots of work to do on texture fidelity. While they've acheived 60fps, texture quality up close is 10 years ago.
I am undecided at this point. Not a pre-order for me yet, but it looks to be a more compelling purchase than I thought it would be, after watching this video.

Exactly. Big video game companies have lost any sense of imagination or any idea on how to make a good game.
Open world for me means own goals and own character. Outlaws looks good but it's a storyline with visually big levels.
Open world means open world. With whataver character. No need to be weird about it.

This looks great!! The gunplay screams Star Wars. I bet there are tons of cameos throughout the different systems as well. Can't wait!
btw did you see the door puzzles. didnt see that coming, just shooting on generators would open the doors! they really put a lot of thought into this
This gameplay reminds me alot like Star Wars Jedi Survivor, even the interaction is R3
They reskinned it with a girl as the main player character. Replace the robot with an alien dog. Took away the jedi powers and added space ships and space travel.
To be fair though, Jedi Survivor is a great game and I dont mind more of the same with sort of different mechanics and more stealth focused as long as it takes me to new interesting places.
But it's actually open world and not using a souls like mechanic of respawning enemies and accumulating experience points like survivor
Instead of Star Wars :Jedi Survivor 3 its Star Wars :Mary Sue
This is about as open world as a train Sim.

Mich würde interessieren ob man überhaupt die Wege zum Zielgebiet verlassen kann und ob sich das überhaupt lohnt. Open World lebt ja auch viel von Neben Quest die man irgendwo annehmen kann. Und hoffentlich gibt es auch bischen Crafting, Ausrüstung, Waffen usw.

No idea, might be just the choices you make? I play so many games and it's really a very small % that makes me play a woman. Then again I don't care, only care if a game is entertaining.
I'm going to wait for a bit before I purchase this game if theirs nothing good coming out around that time. It could be a huge map but probably don't have much things to do.

Gameplay and story look fine to me. I think it's Ubisoft's shady business models are what is so off putting.

Looks amazingly beautiful but very much on rails. I am not particularly crazy about granted holding my hands. I will wait to see the first playthroughs before I decide if it is a go or not. But definitely very impressed by the aesthetics of the Gabe. Kudos there!

Kinda depends on the latter. Sometimes I feel like the games trivialize the history. Other times it's a nice homage to the past.

I have to say that I was really excited to see an open world Star Wars game on PSN finally, but this just looks like Jedi Survivor(have platinum trophy for both games). I was hoping for more of a Knights of the Old Republic. Also, the shooting mechanics kind of upset me. I don’t want to half 🍑 be hiding behind walls and blocks, if this is what most of the game consists of. I want to be able to lock on to walls, have different shooting options… I’m trying to have faith in this game still because I am a Star Wars fan no matter what. Keep going guys!

Ubisoft, doesn't want you to buy this game. You should get used to not owning games made by them. They don't want you as a customer. Don't disobey their wishes. Don't buy it. They need to get used to the idea of no longer being a company.

Pshh. Name 5. I’ve watched so many videos and I’m not super excited about one yet. Show me a new Elder Scrolls. Fallout. GTA. Borderlands. Resident Evil. Dead space and I’ll be first in line with my money. I stayed in line all night to get my Xbox and there’s been one or two games at the level of those mentioned. Red dead 2 was great
