- Frank and I team up to help a local animal shelter who is at capacity. With nearly 100 animals needing new homes how many can we photograph in one morning? Consider how you can help local shelters and foster networks with your photography.

So many precious babies. Love them.
Yes! They were all a blast to photograph! 🐾
Bless you both for helping Weld County out. They do remarkable work.
I feel wonderful about the literally hundreds of dogs that my photos have assisted in locating their "furever" homes. It is a great way to have my photography do some good!
So awesome! Thanks for volunteering!
Beautiful images. I'm sure Weld is appreciative. You both did an awesome job. You and Frank make a great team. I hope you two were able to relax when you got finished with your shoot.
Brilliant work. So worthwhile. Very inspiring. Thanks Monique.
Thanks! Hope it inspires others to find overlooked causes too! 🐾
@@ProPetPhotog It's why we do what we do. You work so hard, Monique. Thank you so much.
You've inspired me again, Monique! In the past couple of days, I've realized that it's going to take longer for me to finish the projects I've been trying to get out of the way before I take a deep dive into my photography dreams; so I've decided to spend one day off on those projects and the next day off on photography. I just don't want to keep putting off my dream of becoming the photographer I long to be.
In a live chat, you asked if I believe that I've gotten all that I can out of my Canon T3i. I've decided that, instead of buying a better camera, I'm going to invest in better glass and more light modifiers. I joyfully welcome input from you and any of your followers.
Currently, I'm definitely planning to get a 50mm prime f 1.4 or f1.8. I'm still trying to decide which zoom lens I want; but I definitely want it to have image stabilizer and the capability of stepping down below f4, as far below that as I can get. I'm also considering a wide angle lens because I've frequently wished I had one.
As far as lighting is concerned, I'm considering a Lume Cube (portable LED light) and the MagMod system (box/diffuser). I'm definitely going to do more research before a reach a decision on what light modifiers will best serve me. I currently only have a speedlite and reflectors.
I probably should get paper backdrops too. I currently have fabric in black, white, and green; and I understand professional photographers hate them. I'm planning to spend only $1000 to $1500, unless/until money continues to show up in miraculous ways.
Hey Carolyn! Sounds like you have a good plan to take care of your projects and your photography aspirations! For lens choices remember you can always rent them first. Can't go wrong with a 50mm and they can be a nice budget lens. I haven't used the LumeCube for pet photography. Depends on the setting you will use it in. I find my speedlight is amazingly versatile. From there I have the bigger studio lights that are battery powered so I can take them on location if I want also. My LED video light I use in studio and would be very difficult to take on location. For backdrops fabric is fine! You just need to account for the darn wrinkling and hair accumulation. It is much easier to take on location than large rolls of paper. But if you have a location you can keep paper at (studio/shelter/etc) they are wonderful. Let me know what you decide on all fronts! 🐾
@@ProPetPhotog I just ordered my Canon 50mm lens f1.8 and I should have it sometime Friday! 😃 I started with one of your affiliate links to get to it; so I hope you get the credit. My only concern is that I have an account. On my computer, Amazon automatically opens my account; and I've done a lot of camera/camera accessory searches over the years. I decided to go ahead and pay an extra $24 for a kit that comes with a pen, blower, hood, 3 filiters, padded bag, and lenskeeper.
Great film, so good that you and Frank were able to help, I sure your pics will speed up adoptions xxxx
