Another thing to do is put some disablements on too. Just to cover your arse. Disable ; sectors, build, master alarms, auxiliary relay, and coms if the panel is networked.

Was taught this on the vigi commissioning course and was standard practice when working for a Gent integrator, including the compulsory get a download first. Obviously stop any noise but then pull the build onto your laptop.
The thought of working on a vigi without a download sounds terrifying to me. Then again I had the pleasure of a few sites with 5 or more big vigis networked all over 12 years old and had a habit of falling over on a Friday lunchtime. Twice needed all night fire watch in halls of residence when multiple loop cards failing over the network. 4 cards in one night was the record and without a download you don't stand a chance.

Hi, actually in my site we using gent vigilon EN54 2&4 panel .. in my one loop totally 133 device and when i do allocate ,all devices are allocated and then below messages are appeared in panel.
Different map on loop 4 at dev 1
    previous on Loop=End 1; NVMC= o/c
    Recover failed at card 4
Even i have checked the device type and cable continuity, device function test, and everything is normal
and also i checked the loop port voltage its being normal and i replaced the new loop card but still its same message are appearing.
so when i try to allocate from end 2 then its showing same message instead of "previous on Loop=End 2; NVMC= o/c "
can you plz advise me what will be issues and how to troubleshoot further...

Naseer Khan hi sorry in the delay in reply, unfortunately I cannot help you with programming on the Vigilon system because I do not have the equipment needed to do so.

@@naseerkhan1772 you need to be Gent trained and work for a Gent approved company to have access to the software and tech support. And when you have that you cannot pass it out. If you have ever called Gent tech support for help you'll know what I mean. Unless you have a valid and current engineers number from Gent they will be polite but will hang up on you. Its a versatile yet complicated system that needs fully trained engineers only to work on them.
