For multiple months fantastic frontier was the only thing I would play on roblox, up until I stopped playing roblox. Just traversing the map, going through the otherworld tower, or fighting bosses/tough enemies was still fun for me after having done that dozens of times. even now, even though I don't play roblox anymore, I still try to keep track of this game and it's updates because I still find fantastic frontier so amazing.
One of the main appeal of FF to me is the art style. It reminded me of illustrations from old fables. Really lure in my inner curiosity and wonder. I first found the game during 2019 egg hunt event (rip egg hunts). The very first thing i see once i join the game was the tutorial. The little dioramas of the world shown with the music really peek my interest. I stuck around after i've finished the egg hunt quest. I Started mining for a couple of hours, dying, tried fishing and i quit the game and forgot about it. The early game is really brutal and at the time i wasn't too invested. It wasn't until a couple of months later when one of my friend offered to help me. Long story short, i got the pipe gun and started grinding. Now i already finish both itempedias and is currently at 200+ cosmic kills. I spend most of my time in FF helping people or grind in matumada I trully believe the main thing holding this game back is the difficulty of the early game. One of the limiting factor was how hard it is to heal. This game doesn't have natural health regen so any monster encounter is really deadly in the early game. Even if you survived, you still waste a lot of resources healing back your hp. I hope they make early game progression less painful. I'm hyped about new contents and all, but this game deserve so much more than 50 consistent players.
Yeah, I must agree with you here, it surprised me a little why Frontier didin't get more popular after the egg hunt event since it was promoted by roblox but early game is truly a pretty big deterrent. There is a dilemma because there isn't really a linear goal there (which is kind off an appeal for a lot of people) but it could have been done way better than it is now, so most people I assume get lost in what to do, or just simply bored.
i found ff through the egg hunt too, and im so glad i did cause i love it so much, i stopped playing it a bit after i started (i was pretty firmly in mid game at that point) and i just started playing again recently (within a week ago probably) and have been absolutely no-lifing it.
That's an interesting way to put it lol. I've never thought about it being a demo version of the full release but it kinda makes sense in this situation 😅.
i think sadly the update may never come, or when it does not be that good. i only say this because ive worked on a few games and when devs take this long already/have insane ambitions they keep trying to add and add and soon it becomes too much work to handle. the best way for them to have done it was to release part of the update little by little
You're probably right, at this point it's kind of becoming ridiculous, and there is no communication from the developer side, the last info regarding progres or anything really was nearly 1 year ago and It is becoming the norm the longer it goes on. I do still think the update will be released since no sane person would abandon a 5 year project because they got demotivated or overworked although it may be rough around the edges. They probably started doing stuff spontaneously as a relatively small or moderate update and their ambition grew as well as workload as you said, it got to the point where the whole game is being changed from the core.
The fantastic Frontier is reallll!!!! also i wonder why the UGC items are offsale, im not complaining (because i got them before they got taken down) but they are still shown in the ingame store despite not being able to buy them i think.
Idk dps wise, would have to do math in order to know which is cringe, but even if that is the case, stargun, handgun and probably gunfists are still better by a long mile imo since you are gonna get hit while using mele and die or just flung off the map most of the times. Also ranged has stable dps while with daggers you most of the time hit and run.
@@nalowaw8398I think instead of nerfing ranger, they should buff melee and magic so both feel much better, with melee maybe all sets can have a bit more armor, and do slightly more damage, while mage could have a slight damage and cast speed increase

@@nalowaw8398 yea i only started getting into FF after i discorver OW tower. It gave me a clear objective which motivates me to grind better gears.
@@asiantom4935True, the tower dungeon is really fun especially when you face new enemies and gain items for going through the trials

Hype!!
It currently has average 100+ players daily
truly fantastic, frontier
Doesnt pure melee pbd outdmg max range stargun?

@@nalowaw8398 Melee does more dps but range is... ranged so the dps from range is way more consistant
i feels so disappointed when the devs say the game will be updated in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 now 2024 still nothing :(
just means the update'll be bigger
If you don't want the game to be hard, choose ranger and go brrr with cheesing
so..... are we expecting the update in 2024?
