I never said this before but this is the first time I seen the welds look better after they worked on it. That being said it doesn't sound bad but it needs an x-pipe. They should have put the pipe between the cats and the Flowmaster Outlaws. There's plenty of room to do that and it would have cleaned up the sound a little bit when you rev on it. It sounds a little too clappy for a Corvette. More of a truck sound.

Just did that to my 85 as the backside of the cat had rotted out. Straight piped it all the way back to some 40 series Flowmasters but left the cat out. Made the tone a lot deeper and it now sounds great.

one year off on that Vette.. the cross fire injection was crap in 84, the tune port injection in 85 was way better.. still sound good though.

The cats should be as close to the exhaust manifolds as possible to allow them to reach operational temperature quicker.

Since you fully rebuilt the exhaust you should`ve put an H-pipe in there after the trans. And C4`s just one of the easiest models for that.

That’s how they should sound from the factory 👍🏽 the biggest flaw of all corvettes to me is the exhaust, you see them but never hear them any era of corvette are so quiet, and damn the aftermarket exhaust for a corvette is outrageous

I get why. Not everybody wants their car to sound like cannon fire early in the morning. But they do sound better that way.

what better to run an Metallic substrate high flow converter or an ceramic honeycomb high flow converter application 88 Monte Carlo tired of smelling like gas and exhaust

That's what they put on it, a straight through glass packed Muffler, it's just not a cherry bomb bottle glass pack, but it's most definitely a bottle fiberglass Muffler.
@@bigchi7635 It's a straight through muffler with round chambers, not a glass pack.

you guys have been true duals happy lately. the cammed camaro and 6.4 300 are the only cars that sound good with that. corvettes sound best with x pipes in my opinion. This car desperately needs an x pipe and some flowmaster flow fx bullet mufflers

Do a dyno test and you're going to see that the Flowmasters picked up no power whatsoever that's why they call him choke Masters! Plus they make them have one continuous decibel it really doesn't get louder it's pretty much stays the same it's weird

I don't know what state you're from, but in Illinois if the car came with cats, you better have cats on it when you do the the emissions,

Am I the only one who likes the l98 engine? I don't own one (I test drove a camaro with that engine) and I just love the simplicity and sound of it also how the intake manifold looks

This is the crappy cross fire injection. It's got two throttle bodies that are on different sides of the intake and they both have 1 fuel injector on them. Looks cool, but it's weak and sometimes unreliable. The L98 was much better and made more power. The L98 was also a regular SBC with a nice fuel injection system on it
84s didn’t come with l98

Crossfire was way unde4rpowered and only used for one year.

@Jack Russelle Lewis this is my car in the video and i can say from hands on experience the crossfire injection is NOT bad i daily drive this car and i have been for 6 months, and I actually prefer it over my 86 Tuned Port Injection and its not underpowered at all i make ab 240 hp and 290-300 ftlbs of torque

In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025
on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime!!!
