I tried it and it didn't work. You must add fuel or kerosene to alcohol to make it work, but what we don't see on the pages and channels is that they are full of these videos. When you add oil or kerosene, the smoke will start spreading until it becomes hot.

You don't need to add nothing but alcohol to an alcohol stove lol.. Look at the Trangia burner, speedster stoves, fancee feast, or trail design stoves. All work just fine with just alcohol and they're very efficient! Some alcohol stoves can boil a liter of water with 30 ml of ethanol.
This stove design in the video is just not great. Adding kerosene would not fix the design of the stove and would make it dangerous
If you want to DIY a good alcohol stove, check fancee feast stove or check tetkoba's capillary hoop stove (just search for these on RUclips).
Another suggestion is to use 90% or more alcohol. Ethanol is safest, methanol works but produces toxic fumes - not great for home use.
