I feel like LeeKnow is the definition of comfort. Every joke he makes is crystal clear to me. And LeeKnow's and Seungmin's teasing language is something.

I think a lot of the comfort has come from their solo activities at fashion shows and other game shows. I also think that they finally have stopped caring about what people think of them as a group as well as individuals, and especially Chan, I think he has really started to put himself first more often instead of Stays (the kids are an exception) and has really taken time to rest and take care of himself more. All the kids are a lot more relaxed and happy these days and it’s nice to see.
Well, there was a very big pressure off his shoulders in the last year that, imo, gave him permission to give himself a bit more space. And the guys coming into their own means he can turn off the dad mode.
I agree that the solo work in the world of fashion has boosted their self confidence
Hyunjin is definitely both the coolest and the most chaotic lol
i feel like felix growns so much. he’s a grown, more serious but still kind and joyful gentleman.
Seungmin does seem like a very stable person, it's one of the things I admire about him. I do think you are wrong about the reason why Chan put Jeongin and Seungmin high for rizz. I think neither of them are types who would need it or want him to do it and Chan knows them. You said yourself he is less performative and the question was to rank them all so they would have been included and clearly wouldn't mind being last, if their reactions are any indication. You are right about Lee Know and Seungmin though. They know they can take it so they allow each other to be a bit harsh. They were roomates for years and even now they share a bathroom. They don't hate each other as some people would like to think.
I remember I gained a lot of respect for Seungmin's maturity and analytical personaly during one old episode where they were talking about Leeknow; someone was saying something like "Leeknow is so weird, I don't understand him" and Seungmin's reply was "don't try to understand him". That felt so empathetic and non-judgemental, I honestly learned something that day haha.
Every single one of them stood out to me in their own way and I think it was the genuine interactions with each other that emphasised their comfort. Not that they're not genuine to begin with but I feel like I saw a different side to all of them. Chan being more playful, Lee Know engaging more, Changbin has this quiet confidence that's shining through more with his playful attitude, Hyunjin being so carefree, Han shining by just being there like there's no need for him to constantly interject, Felix my goodness, him just being so confident and comfortable and that description doesn't do justice, Seungmin I feel like is the same but yeah I'd say he listens more and knows when to comment and I.N with absolute confidence in an idgaf way, I'm here to have fun even if this is not my first language. This was honestly one of my absolute favourite interviews of theirs. Just the carefree attitude and interactions they were having, urg incredible to watch.

Seungmin unleashes it sporadically but he has it. I think Seungmin is too honest of a person to flirt a lot with fans. I think it feels dishonest to him and it isn't a relationship he wants with fans. When it comes out it is very natural and just the right mix of subtle, direct and fun.
chan is first for me, he flirts by teasing as we see in bbl a lot. lee know def second. seungmin has such a straightforward rizz and unleashes it when you least expect it. i believe he jokingly flirts with lee know a lot ("hyung, i think you like me" & "lee know hyung that i love, pls hand me the towel") because he likes playing around with his tsundere facade
I think it depends on who they’re flirting with. Chan is the biggest flirt with STAYs on Bubble (paid subscription) and in the IG live he did the other day. And Changbin and Lee Know like literally never stop flirting with Hyunjin 😂
@@maxpbeaumont You may want to take a look at their recorded fan calls, to see how they are interacting with the fans. Because Chan’s ranking definitely reflects how they are with the fans as, well as stage presence.
I.N has VERY much rizz live, and often utilize it when no one expects it. Seungmin is king of eye-contact: he actively tries to really see every STAY and often remembers them and what they wore even a year later. So it's no blunt, obvious rizz, but a constantly simmering one. Bang Chan has seen that more than anyone of us. And to be fair? Bang Chang dorks away all his rizz - very cute, but also contraproductive in the context. Thank you for your analyze! 🙂

i'm so happy bc some people that nominates themselves fans of felix threatened Hyunjin and wanted to k*ll him and some other horrible stuff, so felix and hyunjin kinda stopped being touchy and cute with eachother, hopefully they start again
I wonder if the level of comfort here is supported by the fact that they were given bilingual question cards. I don't know if I've seen that before. Of course you're not gonna feel as comfortable if you're not being catered to at all linguistically, you know?
don't let them fool you! I.N. is very snarky "you are lucky of having my attention" type of cool, not in a mean way tho, and Seungmin is really extroverted and good with all kinds of people type of cool
I.N can only be snarky with people he knows really well though 😂, he’s very shy and honestly is super respectful of the hyungs all around even though he has his moments 👼🍞

I think they might’ve gotten an interpreter for their English interviews now and they maybe didn’t have that before. I think that’s why the members who aren’t good at English are talking more and members like Felix and Chan can relax more because they don’t need to translate.
I think rather than having an interpreter they've just gotten better at English. They all seem to be a lot more fluent in recent years and from what I can tell the members who still don't speak it that often can understand it near perfectly, so there's not really much of a need for translation anymore
@@neuskirachyr I agree. I think they're more comfortable speaking in Korean during these interviews and don't feel like they need to speak English or be silent.
Well some of the Korean speaking members are speaking English with a bit of an Australian accent so chan and Felix influence is definitely there
And Seungmin's flirting skills.. I'm not sure about flirting, but after one of the video I realized that he's really 😎 when he talks to girls. I think his calmness is attractive:) I feel like LeeKnow has this kind of chemistry with everyone, but Seungmin has it in the classic way. Maybe I'm wrong:)

I too think Changbin has the most rizz. He's usually overlooked when it comes to stuff like this because he's the most underrated member in general :( but I think he's so smooth and smart at flirting. I see how easily people get attracted to him, I know it's what made me bias him hehe!
Very accurate. They have definitly opened up as a group and are more comfortable than before. I would say part of that has to do with them being able to speak better english now. Leeknow too. He understands and speaks better. And what you said about seungmin is also true. He's always listening and watching in the background
I guess that if you said it, I should mention it, but If you (Max, the creator) wanna know a little more about our Seungmin's way of thinking/perspective, you really must watch his "Song by" episodes...he has this straight, clear and soo mature way of thinking/expressing his feelings, that I'm sure you'll get to know more about him in a marvelous way too...

I think when Seungmin commented "why do I waste my time?" (He wanted to be picked up as the person Leeknow would want to look after him.)He was saying it because in real life he perhaps does look after Leeknow when needed; as the among the four people that live in their accommodation, Felix and IN stick together so, Seungmin and Leeknow are likely to be the house mates that spend the most time together. They said on radio show that they make the morning Coffee for each other & Leeknow once said, Seungmin would check on him & turn the lights off for him if he is tired & falls asleep with Lights on.
Bang Chan and Felix's Australian relaxation and accents have definitely had an influence over the rest
In terms of rizz for IN and Seungmin I think, thought I don’t know, he actually means on stage or in fan interactions because their presence has really evolved over time

When Chan communicates with STAYs, whether online, during livestreams, or in person, many can tesify that he had the most "rizz" lol. He's very flirty. It's an inside joke with STAYs that he's actually more "delusional" than us. Chan was trying to remove himself from the ranking, but the members were "defending" him because he's basically #1 😭.
But doing it a lot doesn't mean doing it well. Rizz is more than that.
I think Chan was genuine in his ranking, apart from maybe Changbin lol. That is how he sees it.

I wouldn't be rizzed by his kind of rizz in a irl situation. And I don't think he would use that kind of rizz in a irl situation. In the context of communication with fans it is ok, but honestly, I think he goes too far sometimes.

Yeah definitely! It's really fun and a great example of Bang Chan taking off his 'eldest/leader' persona and being the funny and cute youngest. Max if you're looking for it, search for 'Bang Chan Young K interview' and it's the most recent one from 3 weeks ago. He shared a dorm with Young K from the band Day 6 before they debuted when they were trainees. Chan really looks up to him as an 'older brother' and is very close with him. Seeing Chan act as the youngest really gives you more perspective on his personality and also how different he is as the leader - he spent many years as the youngest in the company, so acting funny and cute around his seniors is something that comes naturally to him. It's really worth a watch!

No, I think the kitten interview was the last one so that the allergic members don't come into contact with cat hair/allergens on the skin and clothes of the others.

It's sad you have to say that but unfortunately, this fandom gets offended whenever someone singles out Hyunjin to praise him. Many people and creators who praised Hyunjin where bombarded with "Stray Kids are 8. If you're going to praise Hyunjin, you have to praise the others too". If you praise Hyunjin, you'll get jumped. It's why I decided to distance myself from this fandom. I'm now a casual fan rather than a stay. Stayville was so toxic and they made me feel like a bad person because I was simply a Hyunjin biased stay.
Oh for real? Sorry that you had that experience. I’ve actually really enjoyed my interactions with Stay. They’ve been overwhelmingly positive. The “I hope no one takes offence” comment was probably just a knee jerk reaction from reacting to Kpop in general and knowing there’s a sensitivity to singling out members lol.

I don’t know them very well, so I maybe way off but to me they didn’t look laid back because they were comfortable but more because they were bored, been here done this a 100 times, you could see they were expecting the same types of questions and only became more animated when the questions or answers were different to what they expected.
Maybe so. Moreso they just seem more comfortable in their own skin and in front of the camera in these types of interviews.

Seungmin doesn't flirt all willy-nilly. He saves it up for the right moment. But when he DOES flirt, he's very good at it.
JEONGIN always be flirting it up tho whether with his stage presence or on bubble and he has this duality of being strong & cutesy which I think is very captivating which is why Chan put him on 2nd.

I think someone mentioned it below, but the group as a whole are involved in a large number of solo activities. Stays jokingly say that the fashion world is collecting them like Pokemon. LOL. We are all waiting for Bin's to be revealed, but I think being in social situations outside of k-pop and even the music industry has helped them grow and mature into their own styles. What you love about SKZ is that their core personality has not changed. They are more driven and focused on their careers, and doing better at filtering out the noise or simply refusing to engage. I do feel their comfort in English has made these interviews much less painful and means Chan can relax. He does not have to focus on translating every word because it's typically done for him. He can help where needed, but does not have to lead the interview except when they go off on a chaotic tangent. Then he has to reel in his children.

Another great observation of Straykids. I think, in addition to Chan's room, you may want to do an episode of one of their variety type shows. You get to see Straykids competing in games but also see how they hang out together (e.g. camping episodes, water games). Also, Straykids has a new song coming out, called 'Straykids' which reflects back on their journey. If they do an interview or video about why and how they made that song, I think it will be quite insightful. Changbin wrote the lyrics and said he got teary doing so. For anyone who has watched Straykids' journey, the lyrics are particularly heartfelt.

Hyunjin is the coolest you're so real
You have to also look at what's going on in their lives currently and what education they've had as well. Lee Know hardly understood or spoke any English and the guys have been working very hard the last year or two on learning English. Also this is right after they attended the Met Gala and I feel like Bang Chan is feeling good and accepted in the US, almost like he can take a breathe because they've kind of made it. Stray Kids also won a Video award and performed at the Video Awards last year...so yeah I think he is more relaxed because of accomplishments but as you said yourself he is still goofy.😂

The fact that Chan rated everyone else above himself when he is literally called "ChRIZZtopher" all over on Stay internet is so Chan. Like, he always puts himself last where everyone would rate him first.
The korean speakers used to be more nervous in this type of interviews. I bet they got used to these interviews by now. Also, they may have English tutors in private (judging by Hyunjin IN and Changbin’s comprehension level). Their team comfort level and individual maturity are obvious this year. I love the fact that they aren’t jaded by fame and fortune. In a way they are like young entrepreneurs ready for IPO.

I think one of the (not the only) reasons Chan seems “looser” is he’s finally hit his comfort zone with US/Western interview styles. Way less formal, it helps that the language in itself is also informal - in Korean, for most if not all external interviews, they need to be using “jeondaemal” (more formal) speech. In addition, the need to constantly be aware of who is older and/or more senior to you creates a high power distance that isn’t really observed in western countries. And that’s just the language itself. He’s also just done more of these interviews that he feels more comfortable due to make practice and repitition, I think. (My 🪙 🪙)
I personally think that Chan got more loose in public contexts as well when the Kids matured and showed him they could take some of that weight :3 When they debuted, Chan was so young himself, but the others even more, and they needed someone to depend on, so just was exactly that, especially in public. But they all have become more confident in all regards: their idol abilities, their language skills, social contexts, public behaviour. I feel like that allowed Chan to take a step back as well and relax more, knowing that he has 7 very dependable brothers with him now.

I think they just grew into their " super star persona " , for example if i compare them to bts ( yes i will compare humans to eachother, fight me) , another group i watched a lot of , in term of developing your person vs persona , bts had an easier time with the latter , you see them struggle with the concept of idol a lot as rookies and eventually figure it out, while skz as a whole i think was more focused on self discovering and team building , so yes while the side you are working on gets brought up a lot , expressed and dealt with in interviews and conversations as " nowadays concerns " , the side that actually hinders you and problematically shows to others is the one you're neglecting , specifically to sensitive psychologically proficient poeple like you self , i think the old skz you are addressing are the ones who had trouble with getting used and comfortable into their " idol skin " , with the nature of their job basically, a pretty damn complicated one if you ask me , in" interviews " such as this one , purely entertaining and promotional ones , they used to be more stiff , unnatural, hyperaware and either overpreforming or retracted in their shells , depends on the person, so nowadays i thinks they are simply getting unconsciously used to the job , secure in it , specifically felix , man's almost stealing bangchan's job , they now know they officially made it , they know there is a fix amount of poeple that will worship them nomatter what they do , they know they where always a head ahead in the technical side , the music making and performative side , all was left was " the super staring " , a side i personally ( and very rudely) think could be done by mastering the art of ignoring the masses , fans and antis all together, cause honestly how could anyone fathom why passerby A or B worship or detest you when they don't even know you , it's doesn't make sense and should be left at that , more like left to the marketing and PR departments 🤷♀️
It's so funny that when the question of who would Leeknow want to take care of him was asked Seungmin raised up his hand and said his name but backtracked seconds later, another thing is I don't really take Seungmin and Leeknow's antics against each other seriously cause it's been said many times that with each other because they both can take it, they go easier with the teasing when it comes to other members but they've known each other well enough to know how far they can go with teasing each other and also their boundaries, and I remember during an interview(written) Changbin said they were his favourite pair at that time , that watching their dynamics is fun and even though people might only see them for the teasing , that he thinks they have great chemistry and if they didn't they wouldn't be able to be that comfortable with each other and have such fun dynamics, I also remembered a fan asking Leeknow once on live why he forgot to mention Seungmin and only mentioned two other members and he stated it there that it was all just a concept and do they really think he forgot him, I think most times a lot of fans forget that they know each other best and they know how to get on each other's nerves all the time, their push and pull bond has always been very unique to me , them along with Hyunjin were what drew me to Straykids so sometimes it makes me upset that Leeknow's relationship with both of them is so misunderstood , like I see myself and my siblings in them all the time. Hi max I wanna give my imput or what I believed is that with Seungmin and Lee Know is that well to me Seungmin gains his harsh teasing and like stoicism from Lee Know since he's usually known for his harsh jokes and stoicism but also they both apart of the menace line with I.N cuz they love to playfully tease the members and you know they both have this bond and friendship that they gain things from each other.

What about Seungmin. I feel like he's uncomfortable or maybe bored? He seems checked out in a lot of the interviews they've done lately. I also wonder if when he stares blankly out into space sometimes if he's okay (stressed? absence seizures? Just completely over it?)
I did notice that a bit later in the interview (and commented on it in my uncut version). Not sure why. Maybe just an off day. Maybe he’s bored w this type of interview. Could be many things.
