Many players make the mistake of thinking the way to get good at RL is to master the fancy tricks they see pros doing. But if you’re neglecting the core skills that make a solid play (situational awareness, rotation, reading your opponent etc) you’re actually less likely to rank up than someone that focuses on less flashy things.

It's a pretty simple mechanic, just practice with timing and air roll! I didn't learn it until champ either, but i've seen plats who can freestyle better than I can so.

@@MatraTIX false. when I was silver I was very focused on mechanics and was way better at mechanics than other silvers. I frequently went into free play and practiced mechanics and eventually started to implement them into my real games. I believe that that silver is an actual silver.
Once you know how to do a wavedash you are rarely going to mess it up because theres a lot of room for error and its not that difficult a mechanic, but for something like flip resets or rebounds even if you know how to do them it still takes a lot of training

@@MatraTIX false. when I was silver I was very focused on mechanics and was way better at mechanics than other silvers. I frequently went into free play and practiced mechanics and eventually started to implement them into my real games. I believe that that silver is an actual silver.

With wavedashes it kinda clicks and then you got the muscle memory. They aren't really hard but you can't do them first try without some tutorial.
Once you know how to do a wavedash you are rarely going to mess it up because theres a lot of room for error and its not that difficult a mechanic, but for something like flip resets or rebounds even if you know how to do them it still takes a lot of training
