Also it looked like at one point he was going for a flip reset and then reconsidered, which made it look like he was sandbagging and decided last minute to abort the mechanic. You can see him orienting for a flip reset in one of his aerial shots and then switching tactics last second.

You should do an odd man out where it’s 5 people of a higher rank trying to find the “higher” rank and 1 person of a lower rank who is trying to get voted out. I think it’d be interesting to see how people think when there’s an “obviously lower” player.
Idea: Tell your contestants that it's a normal odd man out, but in reality one (or all? definitely subject to some changes) is intentionally trying to be voted out (think Town of Salem jester).

Champs are just more consistent diamonds. You can get to champ without very good mechanics... like me. I can't air dribble, I can't ceiling shot, I can't flip reset, I don't nail half flips every time... I only recently started focusing on mechanics because I feel that to push beyond champ I'll need it. Game sense, rotation, and just solid normie shots got me to champ. Edit: Oh, and I'm pretty good on defense.

Later in the 2v2 he made a blind outplay and then didn't react to a backboard bounce u just know every low rank such as champ would hit even if it's a dumb af hit, which convinced me even more.
