The diamond was aerialing with directional air roll, speed flippin and stuff. That is not normal for diamond trust me hes wayyy better than his rank in terms of mechanics
This video, especially the silver game, shows how people are naturally good and the way the SSLs treated the other ranks with enough respect to keep their spirits up rather than putting them down. I know this video is older, but I enjoyed it. I hope I can be a part of a video like this one someday.

Sure, by no means are we great, but that guy's ego was just up the roofs imo. Usually champ is the rank where players start to understand rotations (as said by one of the replies above), but they just get so confused on when to challenge and when to not. I'm guessing that champ representative thought that he should play the best he can by being flashy and wanting to participate in every play, ultimately bringing light to champs in general, but it was so poorly done.

Here's some tips from a GC2 if you're struggling in diamond that'll make it easy for you to get out: 1.) *Keep possession of the ball:* 99% of diamonds hit the ball to the other team when they have time and space to control it(which you'll have a lot of in diamond). 2.) *Keeping pressure on offense by grabbing small pads and staying close:* Most diamonds are too afraid to play close to the other teams net when they're second man, so they end up being too far from the play when they have a chance to score. 3.) *Not demoing enough:* If you're rotating out after attempting a play, then look for demos on the other team. Even small bumps that prevent a player from making a play helps. Once you get close to champ you'll notice that demos are used a lot more frequently, this goes up even more in GC. You also want to learn how to avoid them. 4.) *Boost starving the other team:* When rotating out, make sure you steal their corner boost so long as it doesn't throw you out of position. Doing this while keeping pressure forces them to save the ball with low boost, making it easier for you to score. 5.) *Using your backboard on defense:* If you see a player taking the ball to the air, then positioning yourself on the backboard will allow you to make an easier save. 6.) *Don't give them space:* Always try to pressure the other team, whether you're on defense or offense. Giving them too much space allows them time to set up a play, so use drive challenges, 50's, fake challenges, or even just staying close to them forcing them to make an early play. 7.) *Learn to read wall bounces really well:* Being able to read the ball off of the wall faster than your opponent will allow you to out speed them. 8.) *Get your shot power and consistency as good as you can:* It may not seem like it to you yet, but diamonds aren't good at defense. So consistently getting a good, powerful, well placed(high on net in a spot hard for them to save) shot will go in most of the time. That was just a few things, I could ramble on all day. But these will be enough to get you to at least mid/high champ if you practice them. Once you hit gc then it's about doing all of the small things and being extremely consistent. Hope this helped.
i hit champ the day i started using my brain more. the best simple tip for diamond is: try hitting the ball around your opponents rather than just forward. try controlling it rather than banging it every time. even if you cant dribble or flick this is useful since you can still push it to the side and up the wall or something. or instead of doing a 50/50 you bang it at the wall next to you to go around one opponent

I just hit C1 with no mechanics :/ I can still win with game sense sometimes but it feels really bad being the only one in a lobby who can't fly with airroll...
I have been stuck in diamond for a long time so i can say that the diamond in this video is super super insane! Far exceeds the normal things diamond could do. Congratz!
I can’t believe how wholesome the ssls were, especially to the dogshit champ. If it was me I would have been screaming at the champ when he said he played well at the end lol
@Xx_Gaming_ TeamXx would u mind playing with me? Even I'm plat in 2's and have been upto plat 3 but deranked lol and it would be fun to play with different people :)
As a filthy plat I can say my experience matches up with what's seen in this video. I have dropped to gold a few times and weirdly, the golds somehow usually have better mechanics than plats, while their positioning isn't much worse. That's reflected in this video as you can see the gold can hit some surprising hits, while the plat is very grounded; he barely even flips and solely replies on boost just to go around places, wasting a lot of boost. The hit at 4:32, maybe a third of plats I come across wouldn't even try, and plenty would whiff, yet golds seem to handle this okay. The hit off the wall at 5:26, most plats wouldn't even try let along actually hitting the ball, myself included. The positioning is bad, like 5:41 he stays way too far back and hesitates to get closer, but that's very prevalent in plat as well. In the plat gameplay, first off 7:07 the kickoff is incredibly slow. Horrible boost management. Everything is like a step too late, especially 8:52 it causes the hit to go completely the wrong direction. Aerial challenges are all very late as well, like 7:27, he could clearly see an opponent going for it yet he waits for far too long before lifting off, and then he still jumps when it's clearly far too late and there's no chance he could touch it. It seems like the plat is scared of going above two car heights, like 9:56, he doesn't go for a clear when he has plenty of time to do so; he just waits for the ball to drop lower, resulting in the opponent getting to it first and putting it in front of his net and ultimately getting a goal. It's very weird, when I drop to gold, it's incredibly difficult to climb out of gold, but once I do, it's usually smooth sailing back up to plat 3 and hover between there and diamond 1.
i truly loved the wholesomness (if you spell it like that im sorry) from the SSL's towards the silver. I hope that all of the players in the rocket league community would be that wholesome. Then the game would just be so much better.
@@JoshuaGames4076 not true.it’s actually good that the plat stayed back as 3rd man.so you are saying the play should had rush every ball and ruin the play the SSL teammates are doing.even when his plat and prob not goong 100% defend against an SSL or do a good fast aerial,at least the plat forces the opponents to at least do something to get past the plat which is prob allowed the teammates to get to the net.while if the plat did not wait and rush and had no sense good positioning, the way to the net would be too easy and and the game might had actually turn out into the orange team winning.the fact that the plat was alr patient unlike most plats is alr good and it will actually pay off, trust me,I was a plat and all I practiced was fast aerials, dribbles and positioning, and I was able to finally get out of plat and the positioning being the main reason.there are even grand champions who play more positional than mechanical.even look at the champ in the video, the champ was more mechanical than positional and barely had any sense of positioning, therefore double comitted more and in the end kept on getting into the teammates way and led the orange team winning while when the plat was in the team blue won.even the fact that the diamond was both positional and mechanical led blue to win as the diamond had at least a sense of positioning .This proves that positioning is more important than mechanics,so you don’t need to expect people to alr do ceiling shots, air dribbles and flip resets in plat.
@@carlau4901 thats not what I'm saying FYI... I am saying he doesn't have to be so hesitant to aerial for the ball and be little faster on field cuz I know Platinum players can aerial and are quite decently fast on field to challenge and take the ball to help their teammates if they lose psession despite having a bit of bad game sense.... well Platinum players in EU servers anyways....

Comms do a lot for the teamplay. I am impressed by how well the teams worked from silver to diamond. The champ was a big surprise and definitely not in a positive way. The lack of backpost rotations was weird. It really felt like he tried to do too much. Simple often works a lot better.

@@cherm722 Late on the comment but why do you think I am smurfing I probaly have the most ours here just because of the fact that I started playing in beta on console
as a champ 3 player, i can tell you that tons of people overestimate low champs and their ability in game. Mostly because the people that call them out have never been to that rank. Once you've been there, you would understand.
Ever since they made the game free to play, it gave hella players a rank they didn't deserve. Champ used to mean something but now its the new diamond . At least from C 1 - C2
The champ threw me off so much I had to double-check to make sure I wasn't watching myself playback when I was a ball chasing gold. Don't get me wrong not saying he's bad (He's much more skilled than I am mechanically) but from a rotation standpoint it was fairly hard to watch, the only consistent thing with his rotations was heading to back post. Could have been nerves as well. I think if you were to do this experiment again to test the best kind of teammate I would have done something along the lines of 1 silver + 2 golds vs 3 golds, 1 gold and 2 plats vs 3 plats, and so on. That way they're fewer nerves and you keep the skill level of the teams closer to what a normal game would look like.
I tried to side with the champ since I’m right at the c3 gc1 area and I feel like he’s representing my rank. However he really was just trying to do too much and didn’t really position himself well at all. I wouldn’t be surprised if he thinks he deserves gc. Actually, I’d be quite surprised if he didn’t believe it. Also just another thing, I know that everyone was still under ranked for the match, but one thing I noticed with your commentary is that you treated everyone like a silver and like they couldn’t do anything. You really should’ve stopped that around the time you hit diamond, maybe even plat. Cause it literally came to the point where a gc went for a simple backboard clear and you acted surprised. Like, it’s a gc, what do you expect?
Man I would love to be in an experiment like this just to gauge my gameplay. I feel like there's no better way to really check your own ego. Great video!
As a champ player i can relate, you have to think "i have to be faster and in their face" but you go about it the wrong way and panic more than anything. I used to be sitting back pretty passive, and just let others do their thing while i kept goal clean with hard clears. Today my defence is bad as im trying to be as little home as possible to keep the pressure up, its a very very fine line with lots of overcommits and otherwise mistakes. Its so hard to change the way you play especialy when youre much much older. GJ on the SSLs to think of what rank people are before adding anything to comments or expectations.
Silver and diamond were amazing, let's acknowledge the bump on that crazy pass, an SSL was in net and the silver turtle bumped them and set their teammate up, what a chad
I exclusively defend now. Don't even try to score just stop the other team from scoring and hope for teammates to score somehow. I found I can't trust 80% of solo que guys and trying to 1v3 is never good lol 😂

SO to the SSL guys. They were pretty cool with everyone and very patient with the lower ranks. The champ guy was literally like any champ in ranked, didnt expect anything else from him. I also think he just wanted to do well but choked a bit cuz nerves or smth.

That diamond vs that gc would be 🔥
I love how the silver got a perfect pass and bumped the keeper😂😂😂 what a play!
Jamaican MVP, immaculate vibes and wholesome mentalities from Jamaican and Jore Dan
Can we admire how those SSL’s were so kind to the silver😊
I can understand SSL's, I love new players too when I'm pro at that game...
This was some of the most fun ive ever had in 4000 hours of RL thanks for having me

That silver did much better than I thought👀👀🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️👀👀
the platinum player was an embarrasment to his rank... even the silver and Gold were making plays lol
@@carlau4901 I understand where you are coming from cuz you are a higher rank and I respect your help in the replies... I just thought the plat player could.. you know... be abit faster to recieve the ball even in the air?
@@JoshuaGames4076 you are correct but not all plats are like that.I even have a friend who is at plat three and is able to play quite okay there without good aerials.I agree that plat can do good aerials, but that does not mean that all plat do and that the fast aerials should not be the base line.the base line so be to be able to read the ball a little and at least able to aerials
I love how theyre like “the SILVER” as if hers another breed of human
Comms do a lot for the teamplay. I am impressed by how well the teams worked from silver to diamond.
The champ was a big surprise and definitely not in a positive way. The lack of backpost rotations was weird. It really felt like he tried to do too much. Simple often works a lot better.
The ssl guy that said "Imma give you my account" to the diamond need to open youtube channel I would be 100% subbed to him, he got me laughing so hard throughout the vid
Yea definitely
I just managed today to get amazing performance when I was playing in an all plat 3 server.

This vid really inspired me

I like these SSLs they seemed very chill and suportive of their lower ranked teammates.
The passive aggressive commentary is perfect😂
as a champ 3 player, i can tell you that tons of people overestimate low champs and their ability in game.
He's mech are bad l
He's overall baf
That diamond was a lot better than the champ
I love how the diamond scored all the goals yet got the least points
That diamond was absolutely cracked and even had all the scores for the team 🤣
“Goes to get boost because teammates are doing stuff”
Mrnapkin: ClAsSiC pLaT
i think the champ represents his rank perfectly. just think of 6 of him in one game. tiltfest
Like, it’s a gc, what do you expect?
lmao the funny thing is napkin is also gc so I guess he thinks of himself that way too
Pretty much every ssl if some random guy whiffed they say he's way worse but ssl do whiff and hit double flip reset .
I agree, it's annoying actually because he does it a lot. Seems to forget he isn't SSL.
4:47 the gold half flips and does some sus stuff throughout the match, pretty sure that's a smurf
Banger video from my man, Napkin! Amazing!
Yea in thees I just try and play as passive and smart as I can just to make sure there’s always someone back lmao
For the diamonds round, coconut was the proudest dad those 5 minutes😂
