For gold in fiat US dollar terms, this was another consecutive weekly close above $2000 and for the first time in history alongside monthly/quarterly/semi-annual/and annual closes above $2,050 oz.
Later in this report, we will take a look around the world at where major gold and silver markets are finishing this year, 2023, with a roadmap ahead for how much further both respective precious metals have in potential revaluations higher to come.

The spot gold price closed above $2,050 oz again, completing record high wicks on monthly, quarterly, and annual closes, which is important for chart onlookers in search of bullish technical breakout signals.

The spot silver price finished slightly down on the week finishing just under $24 oz for the end of the year 2023.

The spot gold-silver ratio rose on gold's strength over silver to finish at 86 on the year.

Jeffrey Christian says silver institute adding investment demand distorts the numbers because investment adds to above ground inventory. Thus industrial demand is being met and according to Rick rule, no one knows the extent of above ground inventory except it's likely substantial.

Just about every day there's a new or strengthening catalyst for PMs, yet price always seem to disappoint, almost like there's a rigged system holding PMs down to make fiat seem superior. At the same time anyone who makes a prediction for higher prices is considered a lunatic. Just think if you made the prediction for $1900 gold in 2000 when it was $250. You'd be laughed out of the room. Yet the catalysts for gold have increased exponentially since 2000-2011 and here we sit at the same prices. Is $15k gold possible for 2034? That's the same multiple that moved gold from $250 to $1900 in the decade following 2000. Let them laugh, we know it's just a matter of time.

2024 - the year we made a rocket out of silver and shot it to the moon.
The way I understand it and my toe is barley in the water, when figured for real inflation, not the government numbers, gold is slightly behind inflation on average. That is doing good. Silver is pretty far behind but still hanging in. You can drive yourself insane figuring in the spectrum of finances. I am using real actual experience numbers not the watered down government numbers. The real bread, milk and water bill numbers. I say metals are not quite at inflation but doing very well compared to anything else.
