Boy, I hope you're serious about doing more coloring book videos! Surprisingly, it's hard to find adult coloring book enthusiasts who favors markers. I'd love to see a "color with me" or basic tutorial on how you shade.
I was finding the same thing, I would love to find more people who use markers. That was part of the reason I wanted to start doing some coloring videos. I will certainly be thinking about doing both kinds of videos. I've gotten such a positive response so far that I think it is something I want to do more of.
you should buy the kira kira coloring books which have thick paper to stop bleeding and work really well with copics are are super cute like the pusheen and the shades of kawaii.
My favourite colouring books are the ones from Creative Haven by illustrator Marjorie Sarnat. She’s done Creative Cats, Dazzling Dogs, Owls, etc. and I love her art style.
I just went to Chapters on a whim to grab any adult coloring book to get started on this hobby and after looking at over 60 books I came upon Kerby Rosanes and instantly knew that was what i was looking for. Without realizing I chose a second one of his books. The details and line shading is stunning I almost feel bad colouring it lol.
I want to try out copic markers. I use Faber Castell Polychromos color pencils in my videos. I've always used color pencil, but I think I'd like to step outside my comfort zone with markers.
I'm officially addicted to copic markers. They are so wonderful to work with, not that I have many alcohol markers to compare them too, but it is the color range that has me hooked.
April Sarah I'm hoping someone loves me this holiday season or that I get a little holiday cash to go buy a small starter set 😂 If you havent heard of them yet, you should look into Chameleon Pens. They are markers that allow you to change the shade of a color in the same barrel. It's pretty neat!
That is how I started out with the copics too. Small three pieces sets so that at least I knew they would blend well together. I have heard of the Chameleon Pens. They look cool, specially if you want to get the gradient effect.
I'm not on Snapchat but this makes me wish I was so I can see your updates! Thanks for the info about the markers. I would love some copics but I don't color enough to justify the cost. Same for buying ALL THE COLORING BOOKS! Johanna Basford has been the only artist out there whose style I actually like so far, but the Animorphoa book is calling my name! And of course Pusheen! I don't know that I like all the designs in it, but I do love Pusheen! Do you have any tips for blending inks?
Johana Basford's books look amazing. At some point I may pick up one of her books but for now I love the absurdity of doodle art. I do have a weird love/hate relationship with the Pusheen coloring book right now. I think it is adorable but some of the line work is all over the place. It isn't consistent, even on the same page. And that drives me nuts. What kind of ink are you working with?
Since staedtlers are waterbased it is a bit tricky to get a blend. I have found that if I go in with a second ink while the first is still wet then you almost get a blend. Of course this means you have to work in small areas and fairly quickly. It also helps a lot if you have a good range of color shades so that you can mimic a color gradient. This way even if you don't get a blend it looks like one because of the way the colors are layered. You do have to be extremely careful with adding a lot of layers on a page. Sometimes I over saturate an area and get bleed through to the next page, or I start to eat the paper with the ink.
Haha, I'm pretty sure you would like the colouring books "A Million Christmas Cats" and "A Million Bears". They fall right into the adorable department. There are more in the A Million series, but those two are the ones that I really like. Also, "The Magical Guinea Pig Colouring Book" is something I plan on buying in the near future ((here's the Etsy link etsy.me/2hjby2z). There are flip throughs on youtube for all of these books if you want to check them out. :)
Oh my goodness, I am absolutely in love with "The Magical Guinea Pig Colouring Book". It is absolutely adorable. Yep, for sure going on my list of things I need in the future. I'll have to keep my eyes open for the Million series. Thank you!
You neeeeeeeed to get the kirakira coloring book and there’s two of them and she is on RUclips and her coloring books are amazing! They are so cute and kawaii
Ive never tried them but I heard really good things about chameleon markers. I havent bought any yet but Ive watched some awesome videos with them. As well as I have Shapie and BIC markings that work good for some projects. :) I love my Copics most of all but those are some others to try!
I do have some sharpies that I have tried out recently. They work well but I wish they had more nuanced colors. I have seen the chameleons before. The concept is amazing but I have to wonder how time-consuming it would be to keep on having to add the colorless toner and making sure you count to get the same gradation. They would be fun to try out though.
Like I said Ive never used the chameleons but the concept does seem interesting. They do have some new cool Sharpies that came out, that have some bright colors that are not in the normal Sharpie set, They have this pretty light orange I really and They are better more for smaller spaces. But Im so glad I saw this I want the Pusheen coloring book but I wanted to see a preview so Im going to order it now it is so cute!
Awesome. I usually only buy cheapy dollar store children coloring books, cuz I can't color. But, there's a new adult coloring book coming out in January, by Jenny Lawson, called You Are Here, that I'm really looking forward to. 😊
April Sarah Here's the Amazon page :) www.amazon.com/dp/125011988X/sr=8-3/qid=1478553002/ref=olp_product_details?_encoding=UTF8&me=&qid=1478553002&sr=8-3
I only use art markers due to a shoulder injury. I love using brush nips and dual tips art marker. American Crafts Chromatix of 30 markers with a brush nip and regular nip an has its on carrying case. Art n Fly 12 soft brush water color set with case, Super Markers 100 with stand, Crafts for all dual end with brush nip and very fine point nip, Two Rascals dual end set of 36 with secured carrying case; chisel nip and medium nip. Crayola neon and gel art markers, 18 American Crafts brush nips markers, Stationary Cupboard of 12 dual markers, 12 Pshine markers in case, 36 Staedtler dual tip markers and Dollar Store 3 set water color brush nip is far better than name brand, Crayola set of 20 art markers. My acb collection is The Doll House, Paris City Streets, Island Escapes, 3&1 acb, Mysterious Library Book, Color Therapy, Escapes Collage Art, Travel around the World, Wonderful Fables I enjoy the fables very much, but want them in one book instead of individual books to save on money LOL. great video
Ooo, you have quite the stash. I love it. I'll have to check out some of the markers you mentioned, I haven't heard of most. Thank and now I need to check out Wonderful Fables as well. The title alone makes it sound amazing.
I'm sensing a trip to my local dollar store is in my future. I'm not sure why I haven't considered looking at the markers there yet. That is perfect. And using adding your finished works as gifts, that is such a wonderful idea. Thank you for all this wonderful information.
I have the copic blender but I don't really use it much. I'm assuming the alcohol markers you are taking about are the chameleon markers, and I haven't tried them out yet. They look like a lot of work for just a little bit of color blend. I've also just started trying out color pencils. Not sure how I feel about them yet, but I'm trying. :)
Louvidion , I suppose it all depends on how you use them and what you use them for. Faber are India ink based marker pens and sharpies are alcohol based. This means the the sharpies are more prone to bleeding out and through the paper but that also means they blend together a little more nicely. The Faber Castells are brush tip which makes fade outs and smother details much easier. Sharpies have a few brush tips but Faber comes in a larger variety. The color selection is also more diverse in the Faber Castells. Overall I prefer the Faber Castells but they are much more costly then a set of sharpies. I also have some issues with fumes if I get too intense with coloring using sharpies.
i want to buy a x48 faber petit brusj markers but didnt know if they worth i have sharpies but i want faber and now i saw that copic is like the best brand or at least everyone loves copic but they are really expensive haha. So ill see what i do
No, I don't use Copics in Animorphia. I usually stick with water base markers in both Animorphia and Imagimorphia. I only use Copics on my one sided coloring books.
For me, they're really great for the price. It's a good start if you're a beginner. There a brush tip and chisel nip one which is more expensive, and there also a chisel and bullet nip which is still good.
I have a few of those adult coloring books and I color in them sometimes but sometimes all the details are overwhelming lmao. I only use colored pencils tho, I want to get some copic markers cause I have a friend that uses them for her art and I like watching her use them but they look difficult to use
I tend to treat Copics almost like watercolors. If you think of them in light layers that bleed together when they get close enough.... I'm not sure that even helps. I really want to get more into colored pencils but I'm still a little unsure of them. And I completely understand what you mean about the details.
Boy, I hope you're serious about doing more coloring book videos! Surprisingly, it's hard to find adult coloring book enthusiasts who favors markers. I'd love to see a "color with me" or basic tutorial on how you shade.

I'm definitely leaning towards markers too I would like to see more

you should buy the kira kira coloring books which have thick paper to stop bleeding and work really well with copics are are super cute like the pusheen and the shades of kawaii.

I want that kitty colouring book 😍 amazing work by the way!

I love them so much
I recommend the Beauty and the beast colouring book by Macmillan I love it and it is truly amazing!

I only have the Staedtler fiber tip markers. I know nothing about alcohol based inks.
Oh goodness, that would be wonderful. As soon as something like that is announced... that is getting preordered. No shame. ;)
The pusheen color book is literally the reason I need markers cause pencils take FOREVER!
I’m 12 and I have the pusheen coloring book and I’m a kid so these coloring books can be for kids to not just adults
Have you looked at Romantic Country coloring book?
I have seen it. It is so pretty. It is one of those that is on my "Keep an eye out for" list.
Every time you said "Plusheen" a kitty died hahah
Good thing they have nine lives. Otherwise that would be unfortunate. I wonder what dies every time I say "nother"... Oops.
April Sarah I was joking.. Jesus..Calm down :S
As was I. ;P
Olaya Cano (kitty lover) NOT FUNNY..😡😡😡👿
April Sarah you need to chill, lol
This may sound childish, but smiggle pencils and colouring books are AMAZING to work with 😊
Awesome. I usually only buy cheapy dollar store children coloring books, cuz I can't color. But, there's a new adult coloring book coming out in January, by Jenny Lawson, called You Are Here, that I'm really looking forward to. 😊
I didn't know she was doing a coloring book. I'll have to take a look at it.

The Good Life want your name
You are amazing! You almost think the publishers color it in for you!
Aw thank you. :)
There's another coloring book by Kerby Rosanes and I think it's called mythamorthia
There is! I believe it comes out in April, or at least sometime this spring. I've already pre-ordered it and I can't wait.
April Sarah I just got the Pusheen coloring book yesterday and I spent it on myself for Valentine's Day and I'm in love with it and Pusheen❤️
I LOVED this video!
Thank you. :)
Alcohol markers will often bleed through those cheaper colouring books that are one-sided, which I dicovered the hard way.
Where do you buy the Shades of Kawaii coloring books?
i need the Pusheen one
Do you use a blender or color pencils of the alcohol markers that blend on the other side?
I have the copic blender but I don't really use it much. I'm assuming the alcohol markers you are taking about are the chameleon markers, and I haven't tried them out yet. They look like a lot of work for just a little bit of color blend.
I've also just started trying out color pencils. Not sure how I feel about them yet, but I'm trying. :)
did you know that kerby rosanes has another book out called mythomorphia
I do! I picked it up a little while ago and I am absolutely loving it.
I have all 😃
i have an optical illusions coloring book
Plz tell the markers brand it's humble request
Roses are red
Violates are blue
I came for the pusheen cats
And so did you!
you think faber castell petit pen markers are better than sharpies? pro and cons?? please answer :) thanks

i want to buy a x48 faber petit brusj markers but didnt know if they worth

What did u use to colour the Pusheen book
I used my Faber Castell PITT pens.
where did yu buy your markers/pens from ?
I usually get them from Dick Blick or Otakufuel.
i cringed every time that she said plusheen instead of pusheen
Yes that was a fail on my part and I deeply apologize for it. It is something I didn't catch until it was too late.
She is nuts…
She mostly showed ✌✌ stuff🤨
Wait!!! U can use copics for animorphia??????
No, I don't use Copics in Animorphia. I usually stick with water base markers in both Animorphia and Imagimorphia. I only use Copics on my one sided coloring books.
what about ohuhu? do u recommend them?
I haven't tried to ohuhu yet.
For me, they're really great for the price. It's a good start if you're a beginner. There a brush tip and chisel nip one which is more expensive, and there also a chisel and bullet nip which is still good.
my daughter loves pink she is 4
Alcoholic markers? Lol. Very pretty coloring :)
Who needs regular Alcohol markers when you can have perpetually tipsy markers. Hehee.
Also, thank you! :)
Your video will not be played of me after this ad from you.
Where the book sell?
I get most of my books from Amazon.
Amazon is shopping in online???
Legit I have this but it's so hard to color this pusheen book since it's to cute
And I don't want to ruin it-
Where is the l in Pusheen. Where the hell is it.EXACTLY THERES NOT ONE!
Ava Bickford but it is just so much fun to add nonexistent letters to made up words. Plus it just kind of rolls off the tongue. My bad.

Who needs regular Alcohol markers when you can have markers that are just slightly tipsy all the time. Hehee. ;)
good point =)
I got a good chuckle every time she said that, I pictured my Ohuhu markers taking a swig of gin, and getting completely smashed. I know, silly.
You saide show off you show off!
Anyone watching this in 2018
Her pinkie gave me anxiety
Puuuuu\u
noo9ooooooooooo why grown ups
The example swatches of the markers looks like pieces of smelly poo...
No? Just me? Okay. *leaves awkwardly*
Those are not adult colouring books!
You are crazy and it is not FIBER CATELLE! Get the name correct…
I think your markers need to lay of the Alcohol 😂 there obviously alcoholics. Sorry I had too.
I would like to know were you got the coloring books
Most of them I got on Amazon, a few are from etsy.
Thank you sorry ❤️❤️
