    I was trying to figure out the point of hunting coyotes so instead of complaining I looked up the info. I was shocked to read about how much livestock the coyotes killed each year. So now that I understand, good job keeping the livestock safe.

    I shoot a 6mm remington, have had it for 40+ years. It is a fantastic gun and I normally shoot hand loads where you can get the exit velocity up to 3400+. It is very flat. I normally use it to shoot dear and when I hit a rib on the way in, the bullet fragments and completely destroys the chest cavity. I have also shot through the heart on a couple of deer and they didn't know they where even hit, they kept walking and just flopped over after about 25 yards. It is a fun gun for sure.

    • @joeysanders4094
      @joeysanders4094 3 года назад

      I acquired a Remington model 700 BDL in 6mm caliber back in 1994, and it has been by far my favorite rifle I own or ever owned. It is a delight to shoot, very accurate, fast, and flat shooting. I use it hunting deer, hogs , coyotes and varmints, and it has done everything I've asked of it. I have other rifles in different calibers and like them also, but my 6mm is my "Go To" gun here in Texas. The only negative I've had is it's been hard finding ammo the past few years. I'm contemplating retiring it this year (passing on to grandkids) in way of the Creedmoor.

      For sure, but let's be real...maybe you find a double and occasionally a triple and get em all with a shotgun. Just watch some of the videos on yt of them doing that. Very few doubles or triples and it's usually 3-5 minutes for 1 dog. Let's say for fun you got a double on 1/2 of them and never missed and it took you 3 minutes to shoot them, then another 5-10 minutes to find another double.
      You see where this is going? 10 minutes for every 2-4 coyotes would be exceptional, even in a copter. So with a 10 hour day that's 600 minutes. 600 minutes and shooting 4 coyotes every 10 minutes=240 coyotes. THAT would be stupendous and hard to believe. 400 by one person in one day...he must have been doing carpet bombing with a bunker buster and found a coyote convention with 400 attendees??? Just sayin...

    Think you might be just a tad overgunned? Out to 400 yards a 22 Hornet works fine on Wolves. Natives in Alaska hunt Polar bears w a 22 hornet. But then theyre crazy. Sneak up on them in white camo & shoot em in the eye from a few feet away. Makes a hell of a mess of the bears skull.
