- Quick shooting test of my personal WE G26 Gen 3 that has a silver slide I did myself.
This is a replica of the Glock 26 by WE, but this has a selector switch which allows you to fire the gun in semi or full auto. It is unrealistic, but still very fun!
I apologize for the slide not locking back on the last shot, I did not put enough gas in the magazine!
For the silver/stainless/chrome slides, I disassembled the slide by taking out the guide rod, inner/outer barrel, sights, and the entire nozzle/blowback assembly. Once that is done, I used 60 grit sandpaper to remove the majority of the original paint with vigorous sanding, then progressed to 200, 400, then 600 grit sandpaper to smooth out the slide. Afterwards, I used a metal polish to give the gun a nice shine and a protective coating so it doesn't rust from oxidation. I sanded and polished everything by hand, no tools or chemical paint removers were used since I didn't have any at the time.
This took about 4-5 hours of very tedious and patient work (each) to ensure all the paint is removed and that the slide is evenly sanded on all surfaces for a smooth finish.
The slide serrations were an absolute nightmare and took the longest, the tiny space and the angle makes it very difficult to sand!
The silver/stainless slides are highly reflective when it hits a light source. I personally love the look of the silver/stainless slides since it gives a pleasing "two-tone" look.

Do you know the difference between the WE g26 GBB with abs frame VS WE g26 gen4 with the plastic frame?
I wasn't aware that there was a difference in the material of the frames across the WE Glock series.
I've owned many Gen 3, Gen 4, and the new Gen 5 models across the years and the frames all seem to be made of the same exact material so I don't know :)
Timothy Lam I was just looking on airsoft global and there are two that look almost the same just a little bit of a different finish
@@turtle_6067 Have you owned or seen them in person before? I'm confident that the dozens of WE Glock I've owned throughout the years are made out of the same material for the frame :D
I'm pretty sure the lighting or shading in the photos make it seem like they are different texture/materials!

@@turtle_6067 I've owned both a Gen 3 and Gen 4 WE G26, I have videos of both of them on my RUclips channel as well! There isn't a difference in how they feel to me, they both feel like the same plastic material.
They are both made out of the same material, the only difference is obviously the Gen 3 grip and the Gen 4 grip!

Hey where do you get those flat base plates? I dont see any that fit G26. Most are made for G17,18 and stuff. Do those fit the base of a G26 mag? Anybodies reply would be much appreciated. Dont really like that extra piece for the pinky to rest on that G26 originally comes with.
Those are actually the standard flat baseplates that all of the other WE Glock models come with!
You can either get them from mags you already have or buy it separately from Evike :)

@@prabhumohana6482 Yup, the baseplate simply slides right off the magazine by pushing in a very small plastic tab.
Any of the WE Glock baseplates will work just fine. You can even use the extended pinky baseplate on the standard mags even if it looks super ugly!

You would have to buy or have a separate flat baseplate in order for it to look like the one in this video. It would look a bit strange and not normal if you had no baseplate at all.
Did it come with a orange tip
Of course it does as required by US law for shipment, but I remove it immediately after receiving it.

@@itsjoel1681 Most other airsoft gun require boiling water or a heat gun, but the orange tip on WE Glocks can simply be clamped and pulled straight out with a simple plier.
Use both a pulling and "rocking" motion and the orange tip pops straight out with no fuss. I've owned so many WE Glocks and greatly enjoy how easy it is to remove the tips when I get them :)

I bought it used from a person already in the US, so it only took 2 days!
But if you order from overseas and I recommend KYAirsoft, it will take longer (1-3 weeks).

How much was this gun in total ??
I purchased this used for $80 shipped with a black slide until I sanded and polished, but you can buy it yourself on KYAirsoft which is a site I can recommend.
Just be aware of shipping time and potential customs problems depending on your country!
Would this be a good gun to buy?
I would say that WE Glocks in general are good buys since they are very affordable, have good performances, and are fairly reliable for what they are!
However, I wouldn't use full auto too often because the nozzle will wear out pretty fast!

I am well aware of that, I even have a video of a WE G27 Gen 4 where I bought it with a factory silver slide!
Why did I do it to this normal black WE G26? Because I had free time and why not :D
