If you want to have a steady stream of new girls then having a good Instagram in which you post a lot will definitely be helpful. Posting and making stories will keep girls thinking about you and it can also build trust - but only if the posts make you look good. If you're looking for a relationship it doesnt matter nearly as much.
I agree that if you play like an hour or so per day it's not that harmful as long as you're shit is together in general. But if you're playing video games before you've gotten your shit together (I.E. you're overweight or underweight, you don't have a good job, you live with your parents, etc.) then I think video games should be completely avoided.
