- Happy Holidays! Here are the R142/a Automated Announcements for the 1 Train from Van Cortlandt Park / 242 Street to South Ferry via Broadway Local / 7 Ave Local. The South Ferry Bound Announcement at Rector Street was recorded in 2012. It Currently (2017) Just says "The Next and Last Stop is - South Ferry"
The rest of the announcements were Recorded at various times from 2014 through 2017 from various reroutes of the 2 train using R142 equipment being sent up the 1 Line.

Awesome to hear several *+selectbusservice* routes along Manhattan on the (1) line! Currently there are 10 +SBS Transfers along the (1) including the *M14A/D +SBS Route.* I enjoyed this announcement video, keep it up buddy.
There is no permanent free transfer from 1 at South Ferry to the 4/5. In fact the 1 does not have a free transfer with the 4/5/6 anywhere on its route. When the Clark Street Tunnels are closed for maintenance, they will activate a temporary MetroCard walking transfer between Bowling Green and South Ferry since 2 trains will terminate there

Yes it does seem like that but I think the 2 train has it like that to. Not to sure on the 3 train though.

Some problems:
0:48 - Doesn't Dianne Thompson have a Metro-North connection announcement?
6:48 - Why is Charlie announcing the transfers at Times Square? Didn't Dianne dub the transfer announcements?
10:28 - The announcement is wrong. It's supposed to be just: "Transfer is available to the (R) and (W) trains" once the tunnels for the (2)(3) trains open.
And I imagine the weekend transfer announcement on the (1) could be by Kathleen Campion (F train voice): "Transfer is available to the (R) train and the M15 select bus service" followed by Dianne's SI Ferry announcement.
Avery Rizzolo they use charlie announcements for the tranfers mostly and the south ferry one will be just r and w once the tunnel opens
Honestly, all the IRT trains should have all female announcements on the transfer and connection announcements.
Also, 225 St is in the Bronx

I would love to hear those old R142 Annie Bergen 7 train announcements in better and clear quality because the linked video just has pretty crappy quality, the same quality as an old cell phone. I am wondering if it's possible to get the original 7 train announcements from the R142.
I'm sure the Cortlandt St announcement will be revised when the station reopens. May say "Connection is available to the (2)(3)(4)(5)(A)(C)(E)(J)(N)(R)(W) & (Z) trains. Connection is available to PATH trains."

And when did the M23 and Bx6 become SBS?
Mike Connolly the M23 became SBS last year and the Bx6 became SBS recently but the Bx6 local remains
the last stop in this announcement was the south ferry loop and not the new terminal

They changed the first five cars announcement before the South Ferry station. Before, there was Dianne Thompson who did the announcement, and now Kathleen Campion did this announcement. Feels weird, but they should've used the original recording.
Rudolph The Topcraft Reindeer Now when R142s will run on the line, which will be only for loaners, they won’t play that announcement at all because the new station can hold full length trains.

They do but the trains on the 1 line with the R142a are very rare
Since when were these automated announcements on the 1 Train?
They recorded them for every line (1 to 9) incase a new tech train ran on the line. This was from one of those times the train ran on the 1.

Look again in at the NYC Subway train map
If you really look at it closely, there are borders around the two Marble Stations (both (1) and Metro-North), showing that Marble Hill is actually in Manhattan, not the Bronx. It does confusing, but it shows here in the website:
