Friday Night Funkin' is an open-source rhythm game released on Newgrounds in 2020.The game is developed by a small group called The Funkin' Crew Inc., which consists of Cameron "ninjamuffin99" Taylor, David "PhantomArcade" Brown, Isaac "Kawai Sprite" Garcia, and evilsk8r. The game shares some gameplay features with Dance Dance Revolution and PaRappa the Rapper and borrows aesthetic influences from Flash games. The game has been credited with driving users back to Newgrounds, a site whose popularity peaked in the early 2000s.
The game revolves around the player character, Boyfriend, who must defeat a variety of opponents in singing and rapping contests in order to continue dating his love interest, Girlfriend. Gameplay involves hitting notes with timed inputs while avoiding running out of health for the duration of the song.
The game was initially created for the Ludum Dare 47 game jam on October 5, 2020.An expanded demo was released on November 1, 2020, with updates continually released in the following months. A full version of the game backed by Kickstarter, titled Friday Night Funkin': The Full Ass Game, is in development.

Sonic exe laughing at us might be in-character for him. It's pretty hard tell if the Sonic we see is a fake or not, and that we've feel for his trick and can't comprehend how hard we've been trolled. Sonic exe laughing implies how gullible we are for trusting him.
I've also heard some interpretations of that Sonic.exe is just toying with us and that's why he kicked the skull at BF and looked at the screen directly saying "You're boring me." as well.

Fun fact. the song changes if you play with botplay enabled. instead of asking if you want to play with him. he says you should do this again some time when your feeling more "Up to it" in a sassy/pissed off tone. and ends without the song resetting

@@fredbearbutters5609A reason to be happy but they could at least once MAKE A MOD ABOUT SONIC, Sonic himself, not an evil version of him. It would be so cool to see a mod that has songs against each character in Sonic's cast, then there are secret or extra songs with other characters like Sally, Silver, Chip, Sage and many others that the franchise has, even villains or chaos... Why can not we have a mod like that? :(
As a researcher of the .exe-verse I genuinely cannot believe how many people fell for this,if you EVER see a sonic,eyes closed,back turned towards you,maybe even arms crossed,y’all should already KNOW that ain’t sonic.

I also realized something: back in the start menu, before going to the main menu, Sonic's microphone was red. In the original Sonic.exe mod, the cutscenes before the first song had Sonic.exe summoning a red microphone

I just realised with the title, the title is "RodenTrap" and not "Rodentrap", it has a T instead of a t, it kinda looks like "Trap". So really it told me all along its a trap but we paid no attention to it. Thats great lmaoo

The reactions would be so much better if this was the first mod of sonic to include sonic.exe but with every 9 of 10 mods of sonic being related to exe its just predictable at this point
I somewhat agree, not necessarily hating on anyone for making a Sonic.EXE mod but I do agree that if there were less then something like this would be way more surprising. Still love it though, can't wait to play and watch everyone else play the full update!
To be honest, a lot of Sonic mods exist out there, without being related or including Sonic.exe, and most Sonic.exe mods wear their presentation proudly on their sleeve, but this one hides in a genuinely convincing way, AND is basically a "reboot" of the official Sonic.exe mod from way back with better devs and stronger support behind the project, so this one has more merit to it than the others.

Edit: Sonic WOULD say something LIKE that, but not in that manner, nor with those words. Yeah, Sonic and the secret rings portrays him like this, but our CURRENT sonic would say the same message, just in his "too cool for school" type way. Plus the vibe of the song too, it isnt his

Imo this is wasted potential. Amazing art style and the mod looked great, this could have been a great regular sonic mod. And then sonic.exe came out of nowhere
