@@stegokitty I don't trip anymore either but have dozens of times and I really regret that I never thought to close my eyes. I was always focused on what I was seeing in my visual field and missed out on some cool experiences that my brain would've produced with my eyes closed.
When the album, Meddle, came out in late 1971 - with Echoes taking up all of side 2, it was not only the peak of Pink Floyd IMHO, but it was recognized by many later as the very peak of the whole genre of psychedelic rock. The song is nothing less than a Masterpiece. Great as this video is, the song cannot be captured and really listened to and fully enjoyed on a personal computer. The fidelity of the recording is superb and it really must be listened to on a high-end stereo, and LOUD. Like at around 5:35 after the first part of Gilmour's screaming guitar solo when it goes into the bass beat - you gotta FEEL it shake the room! Hell, shake the house! You gotta feel it on your body - not just hear it, but feel it! Ah, the memories of listening to this with my friends back in the day - almost 50 years ago!!. Now, I would listen to this on my home stereo but sync it and play this video broadcasted to my 65" wide-screen, like a light show.
Well, one of the peaks. Either Games For May opening the RAH & getting them banned for life, or Syd’s Floyd cranking out a thousand watts of Interstellar Overdrive at the 14hr Alexandria Palace all-night rave and ushering in the sunrise were them peaking the first time, playing Echoes to the ghosts of Pompeii peak 2, obv somebody out there likes Dark Side enough for it to have become a best selling album practically synonymous with vinyl for peak sales, the enormous film & stage shows of the wall could be considered a Waters solo album except all the most popular songs on it are Gilmours incl the most popular song they ever wrote and regular winner of “greatest guitar solo of all time” is on it, and in the bands own words David playing it standing on top of the wall in a spotlight was the peak of the band, and no matter how you slice it, the numbers of all tours added up are utterly dwarfed by the scale of the Momentary Lapse tour, & building a floating stage, pulling up to Venice and putting on a massive floating free concert for the entire population that caused such chaos it got them banned for life was probably the final peak. There’s like 5 careers worth of work in that one band.
Worth paying $200 to get a 256gb Oculus Quest 2 off of Ebay. The video doesn't show it on here, but once you set it up you can see it in Virtual Reality.

I really hope it doesn’t sound too petty saying this, but listening & watching this for the first time last night while tripping balls has got to be one of the best experiences I ever had in my entire life, like near top 3 range. I really wish there were words in the English language to describe what this was making me feel. Surely there’s someone out there that can relate to this lol
Best trip video of morphing visuals I’ve ever seen. I swear the AI got better at it’s job AS IT WORKED on this video. Every few minutes it’s creating with more finesse, making it even more hypnotizing and pleasing to stare at. It’s amazing. It even seemed like it was getting more narrative and thoughtful. And I have some very strong memories of watching psychedelic video in the past; totally believe you had a REAL experience with this one.
I know exactly how you feel and I'm feeling it at this very moment while having the best experience of my life on two grams of golden teachers. This is my first time on any psychedelic and it's amazing to me that Pink Floyd successfully managed to create a piece of music that perfectly illustrates a psychedelic trip.
I mean, watching the visuals _sober_ is gonna throw you for quite a loop, I can only imagine what you wind up with when layering actual drugs on top. Spiritual experiences really come when you least expect 'em.
You can watch it in a VR cinema like Bigscreen. They have RUclips integrated so it‘s very easy to do and you can chose between lots of different cinema rooms 🙂
I am overflowing with emotions to say the least. Not only am I captivated by the visuals but also enraged by your decision to cut out essential parts of the song. But also I'd like to see it as a modern equivalent of psychedelic oil projector.
I'm not familiar with the song on the release he used, only the Meddle version that occupied the entire side of the album. I think this version , on the best of album, was a cut down version.
This is by far the most overwhelming experience I've ever had with any media. It's not even art. It's sublime. Like standing beneath a mountain, overpowered by its immensity. Humbled by its grandeur and scope. Just something else entirely.
Thanks for creating and posting this. I've just started watching it. I remember seeing Pink Floyd perform this song live & was amazed at how closely it sounded to the studio version. In the late 70's--early 80's, something called video art came out. It was essentially computer graphics set to a 4 or 5 minute instrumental song. I loved seeing that, & you might be able to find some of it on old broadcasts of a USA Network program called Night Flight. Thanks for bringing back some great memories for this old man. You couldn't have picked a better soundtrack than this song. Now I'm going to shut up and see exactly what the AI thinks we should be seeing while Echoes plays. Who knows, maybe I'll get lucky & have an acid flashback ??
Well, no acid flashback but what a great show. From the pyramids, planets, distorted faces, colors, backgrounds, I think the AI did a good job of capturing the overall mood of the song & worked in the individual instruments fairly well. I'm extremely familiar with this tune, & around the 10 min mark (atmospheric background sounds) every time Richard struck that single note, the artwork changed in perfect unison. Truly an amazing and beautiful job. You've won a subscriber & I've got some suggestions that I'd love to see the same thing done for !!
I loved NightFlight i had at one time nearly every episode recorded on vhs tape .have since lost those tapes but there remains tons of it perfectly etched into my memory. I always watched every episode twice as they aired it that way and recorded the second that way i was able to know exactly where the comercial breaks were and could make perfect edits for a commercial free recording without the stop and reque over recording video hash. Do you remember the name of the girl narrator. I always loved her voice.I thought it was so sexy and seductive.
@@michaelshultz2540 Unfortunately, I can not recall the name of the narrator, or show's host. I'll check on Wikipedia, and other resources to try and get the info for you. I recorded many of those hows myself. I remember watching: Andy Warhol's Dracula starring Udo Keir. Word, Sound, & Power a reggae documentary, and many other incredible feature films & vids. Wish we had those tapes to post now. Always great to meet another fan !! Happy New Year to you and yours !!
I am not entirely sure how you even begin to tell A.I. to draw an image per frame based on sound and lyrics but I am very glad this exists. So fitting for this song!!!
Totally agree, but the lyrics are not reflected in the images (eg. kittens), nor are the changes synced with the song. To me, it looks like they feed their algorithm keywords every so often and let it rip, then simply lay Echoes over it (superb choice). I WAS expecting sync and context but I don't think we're there yet. Absolutely mind-blowing, though. No human would EVER create this. Kudos!
@Angel. It's real, and that's a good question, it doesn't "feel" like Midjourney, if you'll look up Queen's Bohemian Rapsody and Don't Stop Me that was made with Midjourney you'll see what I mean. But since it doesn"t look like it was made with that ai, and the person that made this doesn't say which ai they used, the problem is that there are so many ais out there now that I couldn't begin to guess which one was used here.
If humans did not argue continuously about everything, but were interested to create together something, it only would need couple of thousands visual artists to make visual stream of consciousnes like this in few months.
@@Bonesph I banned him. Also based words brother, we're programs, mental models we've trained on 1.1 ExaFLOP/s of neuronal computation (the brain) over 33 years (how ever long you've been alive lol) We are absolutely neurons running general intelligence models, aka a program : )

In total awe and feel emotional watching this. The transitions are astounding, especially the rate that they are happening. This looks like what people describe as a dmt experience . Love reading peoples responses to this too. What a time to be alive
since this video has released, ive come back many times to click on a random time, and just go frame by frame. This is absolutely mindblowing the amount of detail in each frame. The theme of the whole video is perfect as well. I will most definitely be coming here on my next "journey" ;)
This entire thing is honestly so incredible, I can’t even process how AI created this. I love the part at roughly 8:43, it sounds really jarring and peaceful all at once.
Jesus christ this was amazing. This is one of my favorite Pink Floyd Songs ever. I always thought the song was like a auditory journey of sorts and the video basically made me feel like it IS a journey that i can take part in. The imagery that appeared in several key sequences fit almost perfectly with what i envisioned. For example, the re-emergence of the music(its all music i know) after the middle and then the ai putting in imagery of life re-emerging ie flowers/trees, etc was just simply amazing. I think i was also blown away with the late song Pings and the ai shifting the imagery on every ping to something new. Holy crap loved this. Thank you very much for putting on an amazing experience of sight and sound.
I see it as a different kind of art out of human ability.. can you imagine digitally painting each and every frame, which is always different from the previous frame.. the time alone renders this nearly impossible to create without computer aid I think 🤔
At the same time this was fed with real human art, it's derivative. Amazingly good, but you still need humans to create new kinds of art. The risk of AI on this is that we will be extremely derivatice from now on, being helped by AIs. A lot of repurposed stuff
Well... Ok... Im not a huge pink floyd fan but this is completely beyond anything ive seen anywhere -- perfect for this iconic piece... You killed it A.I.!!!!
While I think you put a lot of good work into this, and it definitely intrigued me enough to click on, I find myself disagreeing with the premise. Listening to this song for the first time ever, so long ago, allowed me to make up my own visuals in my head, and make my own individual ideas up. In inspired me, I didn't have a machine to tell me what to see or think or feel or how to interpret the sounds I heard. There's a magic to that that I think could be lost by replacing our minds with machine.
Cheers to you. How could someone be "inspired" or get "emotional" watching someting (it's even banal) knowing it's AI made? Emotions come from emotions.

This is beyond incredible and should have a ton more views than it does so far.

This would be a perfect backdrop for this song live... this is sublime.
For me this is the future of the music and the podcasts.

This song is 53 years old, let that sink in for awhile, incredible stuff given when it was made.
Greatest song ever made from the greatest band ever played.
I have been mesmerized by this. I could literally pause anytime and have it be my desktop wallpaper🤤
hehehe, thanks for watching friend.
Really gives me the same feeling of watching the video of Echoes synced with 2001: A Space Odyssey

I was at a PF concert '73 when they played Echos. Just superb.
I also caught Nick Mason's tour a few years ago, pre Dark Side PF. Was wonderful.
This is the closest representation i’ve seen to what it looks like when i close my eyes on lsd-the images change in a very similar fashion, morphing and folding into something else every instant.
You beat me to it. I don't trip anymore but I do remember the crazy movies that played on the backs of my eyelids -- constantly moving, changing patterns and faces, etc. Actually they're still visible, though on a smaller wallpaper scale, especially when I wake up in the middle of the night to take a wiz, though it fades away in about 30 seconds or so.
I don't take any drugs but I see this when I close my eyes.

There’s like 5 careers worth of work in that one band.
relax, it sounds amazing with bose speakers
First heard this album on 8mm reel to reel with hifi headphones. I've never been the same!
Meddle is absolutely a masterpiece of music making by one of the best bands ever at their creative peak.
Worth paying $200 to get a 256gb Oculus Quest 2 off of Ebay. The video doesn't show it on here, but once you set it up you can see it in Virtual Reality.
I’m def gonna rewatch this when I add to my “stamp collection” iykyk
duuude the part with triangles and rainbows prisms at the very end was so amazing. It's like forshadowing of the next big pink floyd album
It's like it wants to show me all the secrets of the universe at once! Damn, this is magnificent. I couldn't stop staring at the screen with my mouth open. Drooling as well. lol Imagine this video came out in the 70's. People would have been tripping (even more than they were).

@@murreypdrip140 That's a great comment murrey, much love man.
It doesn't know what it wants to be, but it wants to be everything at once. I love it.
This shit just kicked me into a flashback. Fucking amazing!
@@EsotericDave have a nice trip! 😃

5:36 segment is such a head bopping moment to me I love it so much
I am overflowing with emotions to say the least. Not only am I captivated by the visuals but also enraged by your decision to cut out essential parts of the song. But also I'd like to see it as a modern equivalent of psychedelic oil projector.
Ah sorry, I didn't know there were other parts, this was the only file on my computer and the only version I had ever heard.
I'm not familiar with the song on the release he used, only the Meddle version that occupied the entire side of the album. I think this version , on the best of album, was a cut down version.
@@HuemanInstrumentality okay if it's not your decision I am not angry at you. Also I burst into laughter when AI started to recreate watermark.
Yeah, this is some compilation version, missing whole 7 minutes of the song.
You should be "enraged" at Pink Floyd. They released this version.
This deserves more recognition!
Thanks Constipation : )
This is by far the most overwhelming experience I've ever had with any media. It's not even art. It's sublime. Like standing beneath a mountain, overpowered by its immensity. Humbled by its grandeur and scope. Just something else entirely.
Pink Floyd kicks ass....these visuals? Meh. I'd rather watch Live from Pompeii
Which version of echoes is this one?
edit version 16min
I am not entirely sure how you even begin to tell A.I. to draw an image per frame based on sound and lyrics but I am very glad this exists. So fitting for this song!!!
Lyric based images is one thing, but sound based images kicks it up a level (or 2)!
Kudos!
How did you do it?

What I like to remember is that AI is just a mirror of humanity. This is a beautiful reflection ❤️
To some degree for sure, We're all a reflection of humanity, A.I. is too in this context more so a visual way though.
If humans did not argue continuously about everything, but were interested to create together something, it only would need couple of thousands visual artists to make visual stream of consciousnes like this in few months.

When I close my eyes my own perceptions look similar to this but radically different at the same time. I can't believe AI created these visuals to this song. I wonder if the actual AI mind is tripping balls all the time.
@@stainedhanesif AI is sentient, there’s no way it’s not constantly tripping. With that amount of computing power and intelligence, a mind would never stop making constant connections.

Verse 1]
Overhead, the albatross hangs motionless upon the air
And deep beneath the rolling waves, in labyrinths of coral caves
The echo of a distant time comes willowing across the sand
And everything is green and submarine
[Chorus]
And no one showed us to the land
And no one knows the where's or why's
But something stirs and something tries
And starts to climb towards the light
[Verse 2]
Strangers passing in the street, by chance, two separate glances meet
And I am you and what I see is me
And do I take you by the hand and lead you through the land
And help me understand the best I can?
[Chorus]
And no one calls us to move on
And no one forces down our eyes
No one speaks and no one tries
No one flies around the sun
[Instrumental ; 4:56 - 19:11]
[Verse 3]
Cloudless, every day you fall upon my waking eyes
Inviting and inciting me to rise
And through the window in the wall, come streaming in on sunlight wings
A million bright ambassadors of morning
[Chorus]
And no one sings me lullabies
And no one makes me close my eyes
So I throw the windows wide
And call to you across the sky

This is one of the coolest things Ive ever seen but it also makes me sad that ai is better at making art than people are now
I see it as a different kind of art out of human ability.. can you imagine digitally painting each and every frame, which is always different from the previous frame.. the time alone renders this nearly impossible to create without computer aid I think 🤔
At the same time this was fed with real human art, it's derivative. Amazingly good, but you still need humans to create new kinds of art. The risk of AI on this is that we will be extremely derivatice from now on, being helped by AIs. A lot of repurposed stuff

Holy cow this is incredible. I love Pink Floyd so much, and this just worked so perfectly with the music!
