I was scared of the opening to the veggietales episode the end of silliness

I still have nightmares about Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to this day. I'm not good with body horror and having to watch both versions of it all the time as a kid was legit traumatic.

Let's hope the origin film coming out this year doesn't lead to a remake of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Charlie and The Chocolate Factory is my most hated movie in my life. The trauma was unbelievable. As an adult now I feel disgusted to even watch Wonka (2023).

    I was traumatized by:
The scene in Cars (2006) where Lightning McQueen revs his engine to scare the tractors.
The Incredible Hulk trailer whenever he started roaring.
The Monsters Vs. Aliens Trailer and DVD menu whenever Insectosaurus showed up.
The DVD menu for Ice Age 3, especially when you pressed play.
The intros to the DVDs for the live action Scooby Doo movies from the 2000's
    The slugs from Flushed Away

That exact same veggietales episode freaked me out, but it wasn't the suit tearing apart, it was the weird cgi limbs that appeared out of nowhere, like the human hands and legs, that freaked me out, and i still have no idea what they mean in the episode, on top of that

11:40 I also vividly remember being scared of the THX logo screen as a child, while i didn’t see that screen that you were scared of the other one that was also shown (the one with the red robot dude) absolutely terrified me, I think a couple others also scared me quite a bit, it’s cool to see someone else be scared of the same things and being able to relate to that

Here’s a funny story: I first heard that THX logo in a meme game on Roblox called “hmm…..” and one day (In 5th grade) where we where on a field trip so me and my class were on the bus and we where watching cars 1 and when the logo came on, all the girls screamed and said “AAAAAH!!!!!! THATS SUCH A LOUD SOUND!!!!!” That was funny but I didn’t mind. I was never traumatized by that. Thanks for reading this very long comment…..bye….

Oh my god I thought I was the only one who was scared of that 4D Spongebob movie! I saw it in an aquarium as a kid, but I thought it was just gonna be some regular episode. You can imagine the absolute terror I felt when the pirate guy came out of the frame

90s Veggie Tales freaks me out (looking at you Madame Blueberry), I get that computer animation for tv shows was in its infancy then but I still have nightmares to this day. I played a Harry Potter version of Scene It at a party.

The music in the Disney Scene it game still scares the crap out of me I’ll play the other Scene it games, but not the Disney one because the music just unnerves me, and literally gives me nightmares even now as a 28 year old adult. If I try listening to the music on RUclips I put it on mute the music is so dang terrifying.

    I love both wonka movies
The original and the tim burton version
I think the 2005 version is popular on deviantart because of Violet’s transformation, as artists all over the world draw characters turning into blueberries or cosplaying as violet herself (i know that sounds a little fetishized but it’s true)

The Disney Scene it music always scares me even now, and I’m a 28 year old adult. I love playing so many other Scene it games even the movie Scene it game which has the ominous music in the background but it works. A lot of the other songs for most scene it games fit completely or are quite fun and enjoyable. However, I cannot stand the Disney Scene it music it’s just so eerie and creepy to listen to like creepy carnival music I hate it. Fun fact the guy who did the music for the game also composed the music for Day of the Tentacle, and a horror comedy game Maniac Mansion. The music feels way more horror esque and not something Disney would do which causes it to feel very uncanny, and off putting.

The scene where Violet blows up in the Tim Burton film, it could've been worse. She could've exploded like Mr Creosote in Monty Python's The Meaning of Life.

I actually completely understand being scared of a facial expression. A common thing that would scare me as a kid is when someone(either a person or a cartoon character) makes a face I’ve never seen them make before. Sometimes an odd face can make someone unrecognizable for a moment. So the face that guy makes, along with his hair standing up, can come off as jarring to a child. He looked like a different person for a brief second. Maybe that’s just me though 😅

While I understand it's not everyone's cup of tea. I prefer the Tim Burton Wonka film to the Gene Wilder one.
The Gene Wilder version is lovely, but it comes with some real awful behind the scenes bs the filmmakers pulled against Roald Dahl(the author of the book the films are based on). He didn't even want Gene Wilder as Wonka, but was vetoed on it. From there several decisions were made behind his back. His wife became super protective of the rights after his death for that reason. She allowed Tim Burton to make his version when he decided to base the Bucket's home off of Roald's writing shed, something his wife said was Roald's intent as well. This act told her the film was in good hands. And honestly if you watch Joshscorcher's two part review of this version, you'll see just how much more book accurate it was. Something Roald Dahl desperately wanted. Sure some liberties were taken, but with Roald's wife's permission. That to me makes the Tim Burton film better on principle.
That said again I understand it was a childhood scare so fair. I was confused by it too as a kid and didn't understand why it was even made. As an adult I do now though, and appreciate it deeply for what it did for Roald Dahl's legacy. Shame the original movie was made behind his back just because the producers didn't wanna give him any decision making power. At least Gene Wilder was still enjoyable in the film though.

Also funfact about Violet's original actress. The bodypaint she had on for that scene actually caused her to be purple for a couple of days after the fact. Hollywood everybody, cutting corners and putting people in stressful situations or worse. At least the Tim Burton version's actress only needed to worry about CGI. Other details about that version's blueberry scene can be found in Joshscorcher's vids. Seriously he did a lot of research for that review.
Also something else I found out from a different trauma vid just today actually, the foam from the original Willy Wonka's boat ride actually hospitalized a few of the actors and actresses. Also caused allergic reactions to just about everybody in that scene. It was that toxic. Again, Hollywood...fun right? Those poor people.

I know this is an old comment so I’ll try and keep it short, Honestly I’m sure there are others out there who don’t enjoy it, they probably just don’t talk about it or fear that If they do voice their opinion that they would get hated on or something, I for one have my issues with it but even then still think it’s better than the other Spy kids film after 3
