You were so right! The first time I was experimenting with this deck was the thought of a going 2nd strategy. Went x-1 with your strategy and now I am sticking to it. But there are some toughts after playing: I would absolutely run atleast 1-2 Traps. Discordance was the way to go vs Fire decks and Lab where you can seal away the key cards. Not only that, but it also provides you recovery play you will need, especially to close out games. I was also running 1 tainted. It's very important for this deck to close out games fast. After you are running out of play of tistina you are going to have a hard time in grind games. Also went with eclipses, but other books have more power in context with fieldspell and crystal god. To book all monster is powerful, but you really wanna send some s/t cards too. My go to book spell was swords of concealing light. If your hand is kinda mid, you can hold them down for some turns. My ratios are 2 Crystal gods. If the only 1 is missing then your gameplan is nonexistent. It is only a semi brick if the other cards in hand is correct to establish the end board.
To be honest, this kind of gameplay is exactly what i thought as the best way to play tistina. I mean, yes, you tecnically can otk your opponent with 1 card combo (the field), but it's quite obvious that you're gonna get interrupted at least twice, breaking the otk. Now, it's true that the impact with rilalry of warlords won't be as big compared with this video when it came out, however, there's also summon limit, wich surprisingly works excelent with tistina since the gods flip everything face down, and flip summoning counts towards the summon limit, slowing down the duel a lot, and this is also a reason for me to use 1 discordance as a win condition. I know you said that the tistina traps are bad, and i understand it, it's just a personal like. (The idea being wait for a good moment to summon the xyz, send everything to GY and use discordance to make half of my opponent's deck go away to never return) Anyways, great video. You inspired me to keep trying tistina until it eventually started winning duels.
I think with Rivalry limited then Summon Limit and the Tistina Traps are good options, but I would still also consider adding more hand traps instead, both can work. Also thanks bro! It makes me happy youre enjoying the deck!
Only other extra deck tech I would consider is the new full armour package with the 1 trap that way you have a monster that can be 5000+ atk to help get over towers
The trap card is extremely good in the deck, it allows you to summon ANY xyz that meets its summoning conditions, you can flip then board wipe on opponents turn
Going 2nd is good, IceJade + Tistina is good, going first pure is fine-ish, Daruma is a good card to add, Full Armor Package is insane, Links are worth to use for disruption (mainly S:P), Dweller is good going first (same as Full Armor), others are for OTK. The playstyle you mention here is has 1 play, that's it. It is absolutely true that the Main Deck monsters are amazing and your main way to close out games, but you will always make at least 1 XYZ or Link every game, unless your opponent sets a monster and passes. Discordance is worth to run at 1 in the Side Deck against GY heavy decks. Rivalry is good now, the reason people don't use it a lot, is because there are plenty of 1 type decks at the moment, but it is a guaranteed inclusion in the Side Deck. Extrav is not worth it at all, 3 Prosp is better. 3 Thrust is too much, it's a brick card every single time you cannot use it, 2 is fine. Instead of the 3rd Thrust and 4th Pot, consider using 3x Eclipse or 3x Daruma, Daruma is a good Side Deck option for going first, since it is stronger than Eclipse, just that it is sadly a Trap card. Your deck is otherwise quite standard, the playstyle is very similar, just that you shun the Extra Deck plays a bit too much, they are really good to use. Sadly, Tistina is very susceptible to Ash and Droll, especially Ash, since it is in 99.9% of main decks and shuts down basically all your plays if your hand is not ideal, which happens every now and then, it's definitely not super consistent as a deck, you can easily brick.
Gossip Shadow is an idea 💡 Yes the deck really only has one play. The deck is already kinda bricky like you said, so it hurts the deck more than it helps it to add another engine or something like that. Also the pot cards and tactics help alot with the brick problem. If you can view your extra deck as a resource in this deck, instead of being part of your end board, then it makes this twice as consistent
Im 3 months late but just here in time to express how good Tistia is with Yubel and their new support. You can get into Rank 10 Negates (yeah boring right) plus Yubel plays and any minor back row destruction leaves you going plus for days, god forbid they destroy your monsters
Btw I tried the combo variations like rank 3 Full Armored Lancer variation. It gives the deck more versatility, so you rely less on Demigod+Crystal God Combo. HOWEVER, it is extremely inconsistent and I can't recommend it as an optimal deck
i dont get it. this decklist just seems suboptimal in every shape. besides the fact that the deck wants to go second, the ratios are so weird. 2x 2 pots, 3x play, maindeck eclipse 7x fieldspell also a bit overkill. ash main rly not neccesary. randomly 3x thrust with little to no good targets.
The Pots are there because if you don't have open a way to find Demigod + Field spell you make no plays. Field spell searchers are the same reason. Ash is there because the engine is small enough to make room for at least one hand trap. Thrust gets you terraforming, prosperity, and monster reborn, which all help you advance your combo. I did eventually replace Eclipse for D. Barrier to search off thrust.
@@earthteamjordan ye but playing first just cucks u way too hard. Nobody irl who topped locals wkth tistina is playing a going first build. @@PoiColleTopping locals doesn't prove anything. I could probably top locals with Going Second Darklord OTK if I build it right. Reality is Tistina is an unfinished archetype and lacks a lot of support. You can play 20 board breakers you still won't do anything going second vs Purely, Dragon Link, or even Vanquish Soul. Your best bet is to min-max and build it as go first control, to prevent your opponent from making plays in the first place.
@@earthteamjordan which u cant do. u have nothing which guarantees anything much. What do u wanna achieve? sitting on bagooska? ur onlyplaying i:p + s:p to cuck ur opponent. the rest is useless. and even thenso, 1 ash on sentinel with an ehh hand, and u have zero things present on ur board.
@earthteamjordan Now that we have gotten past credentials, the deck is a going second deck by nature. Its meant to break boards and otk. The going first combo line you presented was absolutely correct. Ideally field spell plus demi god gives you a good play on your opponents turn with only one summon. However if you add in sentinel in that combo line it should give you an omni negate as well on the fifth summon
@@DoItBIGCollectibles I can see that the Deck has going second potential, since the new XYZ is only good after turn 1. However, to actually OTK, you will need to not only flip everything face down first with Demigod or Crsystal God, and not only will you need to XYZ to clear the board, but you will also have to summon 2 more Demigods in addition to your XYZ to get 8000 Damage on board in order to OTK. I know there are lines where you flip face down and go into Hound to attack directly, but in general this Deck Does not have all the support needed to consistently put 8k Damage on board while also dodging negates and flipping things face down. Board breakers help sure. Even if you play this as OTK, your combo will start off the same as mine whether you go turn 1 or 2. The difference is this version doesnt try to overextend and OTK
From experience thats not true. You have 3 2000 monsters that will both be counted as rank 10s. The hound combo allows 1 sentinel, 1 hound, and 2 out of the 3 2k atk monsters to be an otk.
@@earthteamjordanI do agree that what you stated should be the most optimal board going first but if you are going second ypu need more cards to break the board. Then you need cards to contend with their hand traps/omni negates and your build doesnt quite have that. If I added a second Engine like Scareclaw then I would be scamming you. There are 30 better ways to play Scareclaw. I explained in the video that this is a control deck. The plan is to turbo out Crystal God + Demi God every single game. Tistina lacks crucial support. Until we get it, every other version besides this is just Copium.
