I wonder how much she understood English. When she asked the initial question about mormons and the prophet answered that it was an epithet originally, and they prefer to use the name the Lord gave to them, namely Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, in one of her follow up questions she again used the term "mormon" without batting an eye. So I think she was just asking the prepared questions, but these questions were not necessarily friendly, and in fact one of them was really challenging near the end when she asked about pope and himself... and he treaded on water to answer how the pope prays for him and he prays for the pope, but there are theological differences. He rightly focuses on the things they have in COMMON. He is a uniter. He is a peacemaker, and he is doing a ton of good in the world obviously.

The truth makes you free. The church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints. The faith to hope all things is Endless. To believe on Jesus Christ name , live forever , is common ground to thinking about the differences between Religions the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints. Peacemakers , the spiritual momentum. Turning the hearts of the children to thier fathers and fathers hearts to his children. So we restoration the fullness to witness the folds to come and partake of the field that is upon the earth coming unto Jesus Christ to be Indebted to the father forever. Jesus Christ name Amen.
I was loving hearing the president's words until he said it was the enemies of the church who promoted the nickname Mormon and that it was negative. But during President Monson's administration, the church spent millions of dollars to publicize the church through this "nickname." I myself invited nonmember friends to watch the movie "Meet The Mormons" and also shared videos of people who told their stories and at the end said, "I'm a journalist, writer, housewife and I'm a Mormon." I support the pres. Russell M. Nelson as president of the church, but this subject bothers me a lot.
And the catholic church use to be the great whore of the earth until he met with the pope. Similarly, everything use to be about the prophet Joseph but now it's Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. It's called a "re-brand" because the old product isn't selling anymore. Wake-up people!
He was talking about originally - where the name came from. It was back in the days of Joseph Smith that enemies (or at least unfriendly outsiders) called us by that name. Over the years it stuck, until it became something we didn't pay much attention to. He's trying to change that. The point of the "I'm a Mormon" campaign wasn't to draw attention to the nickname, or to give it validity.. but rather to show people that we're just normal everyday people.
Why should it bother you? I clearly remember the campaign. But as a member of the church for 23 years, I have always felt that it is proper to call ourselves "Latter-day Saints." The campaign wasn't wrong in trying to "clean" up the name, but seriously...It always has been a sigma with the name, "Mormon."
@@sanaltmr well, if you read many apostles talks from the 1800s to now, many has always spoken and directed the members to use the full name. It was never President Nelson's opinion. D&C 114 has clearly stated that is what the Church should always be called as. I agree with President Nelson that perhaps it is time to move on from that because it is an international church, but the nickname will not go away and I am pretty sure the Prophet is aware of that. But with effort, we can do better to represent the Church as a full name. The name, Mormon, depending on whose perspective it comes from can either be bad or good.
Do Latter Day Saints still believe that Jesus appeared to the people's of North Central and South America? I thought it was a localized visitation to a small group?
@@jackschmidt7504 I think the whitish medallion on her necklace is a Young Women's medallion...hard to see for certain. Her questions totally rocked, by the way.
Satin doesn't want the world to know that the Lord's church is on the earth today. So he just tries to give it another name Mormons) and people will not look twice at it. Of course he has to add a lot of lies along with his plan. We know that he is not going to win, in the end. Has he ever used the full name of Jesus Christ in any of his churches? There are thousands of names of churches out there that may have part of his name, but not that use the full name.

Jesus Christ name Amen.
It's interesting how his answers sound as scripted as her questions.
I was loving hearing the president's words until he said it was the enemies of the church who promoted the nickname Mormon and that it was negative. But during President Monson's administration, the church spent millions of dollars to publicize the church through this "nickname." I myself invited nonmember friends to watch the movie "Meet The Mormons" and also shared videos of people who told their stories and at the end said, "I'm a journalist, writer, housewife and I'm a Mormon."
I support the pres.
@@RobbieIsbell because I think it's his opinion.
The name, Mormon, depending on whose perspective it comes from can either be bad or good.
vamos amor
Do Latter Day Saints still believe that Jesus appeared to the people's of North Central and South America? I thought it was a localized visitation to a small group?
He visited many people, all around the world
After he died and was ressurected, he still had a human body, but he was god at that point and traveled all across the world
Was this interview done by a news agency or the church?
As written in the description of this video, "Brazil national Band TV news anchor Isabel Tacaki." So done by a Brazil News Agency.
@@RobbieIsbell - The interviewer is, however, Mormon.
@@jackschmidt7504 So?
@@RobbieIsbell -- I apologize for offending you! I believe the original poster, when asking the question, was asking about bias.

No saco nada con preguntar que se dijo.
