I happen to live in Arizona. This only matters because the geeky adult guy in the movie who kinda saves the day… is the same guy who hosts an Arizona based radio show we listen to literally every day and have been for years. Did not know that until last October when we found the movie to watch for free on YT and my mom (who forgot the movie) immediately noticed his voice. (For some reason Disney+ refuses to have the OG “under wraps” even when it’s their movie… but they have plenty of time to make a crappy reboot and give it a sequel)
When i was 15, i got my first job at Party City selling the Halloween stuff. A girl walks in with a guy who i assumed was her boyfriend and asks to buy a devil mask. I thought she was super cute, but didnt want to say anything, but we did wind up talking and she was really cool. 4 years later, i get a phone call from a buddies girlfriend asking if i can pick up one of her friends from a bus stop, she had no where to stay that night and needed somewhere to crash. I said sure and drive across the city, and who do i see sitting on the bench? The girl i sold the devil mask to. We wind up talking, and dude was her moms friends kid, like a brother to her. I let her crash with me, we started dating, and we were together for nearly 8 years. Also turned out we went to the same swim coach as kids and hung out at the same boys and girls club growing up.
