There is a man that walks into the elevator ( he’s bald) and right before you scan your ticket to enter the train. He’s the former president of Mexico, Carlos Salinas De Gortari.
Can you guide yeah. So if one takes the express to Paddington. At which point do I need to buy an Oyster card. As I need to get to Aldgate station. Must I purchase an Oyster at Heathrow or Paddington?
Great to see a first person perspective from arrival! Pretty expensive for what you're getting at £22/25, the tube is much more economical if you have a bit of time/Crossrail (aka Elizabeth line) for around £10 which actually goes into Central London and everywhere else instead of only Paddington
Really love your videos! I feel sorry for you as Covid has basically made the majority of your content very difficult or impossible to get. Great to see another upload!
Great video! If you order your tickets online months in advance they are a lot less expensive. I recently ordered Heathrow to Paddington return tickets for only 11 pounds.
This past May, I traveled to London as part of a college tour group. Arriving at Heathrow from the States on 27/5, we briskly walked the requisite 2 miles from the international arrival gate to the immigration/customs hall, cleared passport control with no trouble, collected our luggage, and thence endeavored to find suitable transport into Central London. As our lodging was just off the Russel Square tube, we anticipated a long but direct shot into the center via the Picadilly Line. Though, as fate would have it, infrastructure works between Heathrow and another station I can't recall the name of forced us to find an alternative route. Having already in hand our handy Oyster cards, we elected to take the Elizabeth line, change at Paddington for the Circle or District, and at Kings Cross either catch the Picadilly or walk the brief way to our hostel. We would spend quite a bit more by taking the Elizabeth line, but, as there was no real way around this outside of taking the far more expensive Heathrow Express, we would have to chin up and eat the minor financial loss. What is travel than facing unanticipated events with a smile and a shrug! Yet, once again, fate got in the way. Confusion at Heathrow as to which platform the Elizabeth line departed from found us unintentionally boarding the Heathrow Express instead. Once we realized our mistake by way of PA announcements, it was too late. The doors had slammed shut and the platform attendant's whistle blown, and now we were departing Heathrow for the fast 17-minute jaunt to Paddington. Our naivete and ignorance cost us £22, a sum we could've spent on much more worthwhile things in London than an overpriced airport express service. I bet many a hapless tourist like ourselves has made the same costly mistake of boarding the Heathrow Express rather than the Elizabeth line since the latter's extension to Heathrow.
Just subscribed to your channel. I think I have found my favourite youtube channel! Thank you so much. Being from India, I have always wanted to see how travel is from a first person perspective. Your mum style of narration with the natural ambient sounds makes your content so much more authentic. It's like I can experience travel first hand! Thank you so much once again. Kudos 👌
This can't have been during covid because it is way too busy and no one is wearing masks. Masks are, and were then, mandatory in the airport and in station and on the trains. So this must have been late 2019
I assume that if you're British, you pass through international passport control, right? I'll be flying solo for the first time this year, and my departure is from London. I'm really grateful I found your video - it's been incredibly informative! Express Parking has definitely made my travel planning smoother.
@TheRenaissanceman65 actually, take the tfl rail. It’s not too slow and not too fast, also not too expensive but it’s more expensive than the underground
£5.5 if you buy it 90 days advance (many foreigners do know their schedule by that time). For that it's much better than sitting in Piccadilly Line for an hour.
I was there back in July 2020. Really miss traveling to London. Even though I live in the Netherlands and it's not far, somehow it seems impossible and confusing with all these rules nowadays. Covid and mass hysteria ruined our lives.
I guess if you're an American, you go through the international passport control? I'm going on a plane by myself for the first next year and it'll be to London. I'm so glad I came across your video. It's been very helpful!
Asia such as India . I am an Asian so I want you to explore the whole Asia . First two weeks for Arabia Region , when you will travel from one place to another , do this👇 (traveling by trains)
where did you arrive from? also when was this recorded? (i know it was during pre-covid because heathrow express now operates the class 387s and terminal 4 is still closed)
Someone once asked me who would still take the underground line to and from Heathrow when you've got the Heathrow Express whizzing you non-stop between the airport and Paddington station. The answer is obvious, people who live about halfway between central London and Heathrow, people from Acton, Ealing, Hounslow, etc. They're not going to go the opposite direction back to London to get on the Heathrow Express. For them, it's quicker and more convenient to take the underground.
@@ciceromacus6294 You only have to do a search on google. If you are travelling to a foreign country wouldn't it be wise do some research on how to get from the airport to where you want to go. I assume that is the norm isn't it?

Thank you for the video. Its refreshing back the memories I had in London. Your video shows all the places I went until paddington.
Thank you for the video. I'm traveling solo to London soon and I was stressed out about where to go. This video helps out a lot
Have used Heathrow Express for all our trips to London ... quick, easy and so much more comfortable than The Tube. Awesome service !!

if you book more than 90 days out it's £5.50 each way
Gets rather crowded tho
If you have more luggage than a carry on it’s a hassle with luggage take on the tube & probably Elizabeth line.
So skillfully shot.. actually felt.. that one was walking along one's self.. !! Thanks for sharing...!!

awesome trip report silent traveler...greeting from miftahjaya96 youtube channel.
25 GBP for a 15 minute train ride?? That's criminal...
Take the TFL Crossrail train. Slightly longer but much cheaper.

Got the Elizabeth line now, right?
If I land at Terminals 2, 3, or 5, where do go to get on the train
And FYI my working currency is United States dollars
Can you only access the Express train if you came off the plane? Or can it be accessed from “outside” travellers inti the train area?
The ticket for the train. Does the machine give it back to u so that u scan it at exit ?????
Lovee this video, thank you

Great video! Your channel has me wanting to do some international travel again. What camera are you using for these videos?
You should try out the Heathrow Express Class 387/1a as they have replaced the Class 332.

If you have a US passport (or several other countries), you can generally go through the automated passport gates at Heathrow.
They have one specially designated for US passport holders.

Is it possible to get a tube to Paddington from Heathrow Terminal 4
pre covid days .....
How long did it take you to clear passport control and immigrations and customs?
What does "if your terminal is 4,a free transfer to/from the trains......." mean?. 😮
Can you please show russian train journey experience
Russia is definitely on my list
Is everyone late? They are running
Where do you attached your camera ? Is it a gopro?
Is there any lockdown in Europe?
I love London❤🇬🇧

Where is the underground tube station in Terminal 4?

How to connect with the silent traveler? Any social media handle to connect with you apart from RUclips?
Can you explore Asia also ?
I don’t know what airline he flew to London Heathrow terminal 2
In which terminal did you land on?
NICE VIDEOS!! are you recording on gopro?? If so, which one? Tnx

I'm worried about Immigration Passport Control and Customs. I arrive in the UK at 10pm that night. Will I be tied up in those departments for hours?
When did you record this? No one is wearing a mask ?!

This is not a recent video, because there’s not a single COVID 19 alert anywhere, or a face mask to be seen on a single person !!
