If they aren't attacking you, what's the point of attacking them? It kinda makes out Fayt and his friends to be more villainous than heroic..
That's because Sakuraba was a founding member of Team Wolf which retained it's services as a freelancer after the restructuring.Since he was now a freelance composer, Tri-Ace (made of the employees Team Wolf got rid of) contacted him and he pretty much worked withthem on every game except one I believe. Later one of Sakuraba's closest acquaintances in Tri-Ace founded Tri-Crescendo hence Sakuraba also ended up making Tri-Crescendo's music. So yeah,it's not coincidence.
i got my copy used, and a scratch on the disk made the battle intro freeze for up to 5 full minutes before going on, and i still waited through it every time.
@YattaDante Look up Motoi Sakuraba on Video Game Music Data Base, and you'll see only some of his discography. It's a nice way to learn a bit about this prolific composer! Infinite Undiscovery is a beautiful soundtrack by him.
Yes, I love his style in composing, it's always upbeat and to me, it always feels like there's a sense of a determined feeling in the songs. Thanks for the suggestions of his other works; I've been looking for other songs in other areas that he composed!

this is a VERY beautifull song...it's really upbeat and since i like rock and some pop music it goes well with my taste...motoi is a really good and talented composer in all the star ocean games and no lack in originality in any of the series..very impressive you think he would slip up a little over the course of a decade but he hasnt haha.
when i first heard this song while playing SO3, the first thing that got to my head was "Golden Sun and Tales of Symphonia!" because the beginning battle themes were so similar, and I knew right away that the composer was Motoi Sakuraba. XD

"Be warred...I won't hold anything back..!" To me that line was epic at the begging of an battle, in a way I sort felt pumped you could say. Much better than; "We must make the most of our training.."
@sapphireheart0188 Ever think of continuously using Side Kick/Side Kick? Not only does it help you avoid some attacks, but it does decent damage, with the right weapon. If you have Cliff in your active party, have him use a Fists of Fury/Fists of Fury combo to stunlock, and if you're using Maria, and control her, be careful with this one, but use a close-up Scatter Beam/Scatter Beam combo. It's cheap, but effective.
I personally think that this battle them and Golden Sun's battle theme are subconsciously both remixes of each other lol. So similar that I expect to hear one or the other after their respective intros. Oh, Motoi Sakuraba, you can manufacture them so quickly and effectively.

Ok, I've listened to 8 different battle themes from Mr. Sakuraba from the Tales series, Golden Sun series and Baten Kaitos and I have to say there's a running theme with all of them. Same drum pattern, same baselines, heavy synthesizers, and a guitar solo thrown in. Is it purposeful? Maybe he likes all his battle theme to have a similar motif or something. =\
Yeah, Sakuraba's style is very distinctive from what you hear anywhere else. Many percusions, fast paced music but always with a "background" melody very pleasant that gives some smoothness to the whole. You want to check Shining the Holy Ark and Shining Force 3 soundtracks too if you like Sakuraba.
That's why I have it hooked up still over top of my 360 as it's new throne, for it reigns king over the 360 when it comes to JRPG's. BLADE..OF FURYY! FTW!!

Or if you wanna get him after getting back on elicoor, he's in some house in sulferio (i think it''s in sulferio) in an upstairs room talkin to his girl
True, remixes of good chord progressions and melodies are staple of the art form and I love hearing new variations of the 'Dearly Beloved' theme in each new Kingdom Hearts game. I was merely pointing out that Sakuraba-san has a deep rooted motif in his battle themes; not necessarily saying it was bad...

I loved this game so much. I got it at gamestop for the hell of it cause it wasnt expensive and i fell in love with it and the series.
