Just discovered Moon Duo today. Loving it. Been a fan of WS for a few years and I'm so delighted to learn there's a similar band out there with the same engine that I love just as much. Lots of times I don't enjoy my favourite band's "other band" as much. Love 'em this time.

Love the Duo/Trio. Lyrics are a mystery ,but why care. Erik/ Ripley Johnson (Eric Johnson of Austin ,Tx. has wowed the world for decades ) gives us two more beautiful guitar showcases in Rose City Band and Wooden Shjips. Sanae is our favorite (how do people get excited about a Lady Gaga or a Beyonce??? ) woman in music . I would love it if Eric created a tribute to Erik and vice versa, and if they got together sometime

Yup. Playing space rock in Vans is just wrong. Can't blame the old fella for wanting to be Dave Brock, though.
I believe updated version is the correct interpretation. Every generation is influenced by the prior generation in one way or another. And the best parts of any prior generation need a fresh and current interpretation to keep them in the general conciousness. The sound may be similar, but it is definitely different from Hawkwind in my opinion. Either way, there's no doubt the dude is a space-rock guitarist of the highest order.

Fantastic “drone psyche” for the modern ages! Defo influenced by Hawkwind,Suicide and Sonic Youth (perhaps) and that’s a very good thing!
Don't forget Spacemen 3. Probably the biggest influence.

Not really a fan of the mix on this one, it's probably on purpose but i can hardly hear the kick drum and the synths are drowned out by the guitar at parts of. No idea what sounds are being triggered by the electronic drum pad either.

personally I would have liked this more with way less pad synth, sounds too full and no space for the guitar effects. More bass more guitar please
I think it was just the set up for this particular show. The albums don't sound that front heavy with the synth.

I saw these in a London basement. Gig of the year 2017. Hope they tour Europe again. If anyone cares they sound a bit like kraut rocks Micheal Rother. Far away from the blues based rock I often hear.
