Me, I'd love to rebuild this into a home for myself. Locally a guy did that to a one-roomer that sat abandoned since 1962. His home has won awards!

That would make a beautiful home. Someone turned a old two story school into a very nice looking home in Mishawaka Indiana! There's a old middle school in South bend Indiana down town area made into apartments.

Wow, it would be tremendously expensive to restore that old building. Even the brick is collapsing.

Maybe the local library might have more pictures of what it was before. Where I live there is a historical organization that preserves buildings and still uses them.

Would be neat to see how the inside looked when it was still in operation. I find it sad how this hasn't been fixed up.

Was definitely a regal in its time. So sad it has to simply fade away.

First time viewer and new subscriber. I like your style! Just wanted to say that one shot peeking through the hole in the corner and looking at the tower on the other side would make a GREAT still shot. Suitable for framing IMHO. Will check out some of your other offerings.

Thunderbolt & Lightfoot. Great ending, great movie.

Shame it couldn't have been repurposed other than for corn storage. In the city where I attended school back in the 1950s and '60s (Baltimore) I went to both old (built 1914 to 1919) and brand new school buildings. I always liked the older buildings better. They seemed to have a much warmer atmosphere with all the hardwood used in their classrooms. I liked the old wood and iron desks/chairs, too! This building could still be saved if someone had the money to invest in it.

What is never told is.. the kids who went there could actually read, write and perform math, science skills far superior to kids the same age today.. the One Room school was actually the best way to educate kids because the older kids helped the younger ones with their homework and studying.. the younger kids were exposed to much higher levels of knowledge than their grade level at the same time as the older students… but in the 1930’s, the radical leftist movement started to take over education.. in the Ivy League Universities, the book, The Sexual Revolution was sweeping the universities.. google it
