Motiti Rock fishing and Netting Piper (Season 1 Ep 2)

With their feet firmly pressed on the rocks Nicky is testing out the land based fishing in the Bay of Plenty with Tania, resident on Motiti Island.
Once the two ladies have had a successful morning on the rocks, Nicky is taken around the island by Tanias son Riley, who shares a spot where the two catch some fresh bait and then hit the rocks again for some more fishing action.

Hi, enjoy your show, thanks for the "hard" work haha. One question, the intro says "Join her each week as she road trips around the country", are there any episodes south of BOP? Am based down in Wellington and we have fish down here too! Could do a spearfishing episode down here or even in South Island. Or otherwise a Hapuku episode. I think one of the problems with NZ fishing is the constant focus on Snapper and the pressure this results in on both Snapper and the wider ecosystem (as the Kina population increases). So great to build knowledge of all the other great fish in our waters (Blue Nose, Butterfish, Blue Moki, Blue Cod, Hapuku, etc)

Hey Paul, I would love to travel to these places and feature the fisheries, the only thing holding us back is budget while the show is still in its infancy. We do not get the same support that other television shows receive, like Shortland Street for example - theyre government funded where as this show is 100% funded by me and my sponsors. We will eventually grow and as we do I hope the budgets grow too. Cheers, Nicky
