I was a military diver in Australia. In 1986 we were having a fun dive for once just north of Perth. W.A, there were 7 of us diving on a small reef about 1 km of shore, l have dived on oil rigs in the middle of Base Strait Australia an so on. We dived for about 45min then left. About 30 minutes later as we were going back to base we heard on the news radio that a large white shark was seen in the area we were just diving at. Of all the years l have dived l have never seen a shark but after hearing this it really made me ???? Did this white shark feel us in the area ? Scary
Loved the one episode where Hal got aggravated with some type equipment for his show and yelled, " Fuck !! " lol ! I instantly loved the channel for the fact he left it in !
A year. Well done Hal. I like your mistakes not that you do any these days. You’re style of just having having a chat with your exceptional details all makes for a great watch. You make me feel like we could be chatting over a drink. Keep it up.
If there was ever any doubt, watching the end of this video and hearing all the kind words you had for your initial viewers cemented your number one spot on my favorite YT host list. Getting to hear more about your life outside of the "killer shark" arena just made you more likable than ever. Being a cat lover (all animals, actually) and a rescuer of many, many, abandoned and unwanted kittens in perilous situations, I especially applaud you and your wife's kindness and selflessness to help those who cant help themselves. Theres a special place in heaven for people like yourselves. God bless you.❤ take care😊
I concur absolutely Cynthia, I enjoy watching every video Shark 🦈 Happens he puts out, actually it’s been around 12 months now which he mentioned Shark 🦈 Happened is 1 year young, I didn’t realise until now but I must have been a fan from the beginning, every time I watched Shark 🦈 Happen am on the edge of the seat, that’s why I keep coming back.
I rescued a female bobcat years ago that had lived in a tiny cage for two years and helped her transition back to the wild. She was very afraid of everyone but me but was intelligent enough to wake up my dad by jumping up on the window air conditioner and head butting the window when her kittens were drowning in their den in the woods during a flood. She led him to her den (hole in the lower side of a hill) and he saved 2 of the 3 kittens from drowning. She had got one of them out but didn`t know how to get the ones in the water.
@@rottweilerfun9520 I pretty much foster any breed, but typically take the ones who are most in need. My current foster happens to be an eight-week-old Rottweiler puppy with swimmer syndrome. All her organs have shifted because she spent the 1st 6 weeks of her life on her stomach and she's flat like a pancake. They should have started physical therapy with her by 2 weeks old. I just got her a couple weeks ago at 6 weeks. She was dumped at animal control in the drop-box after hours, assuming by her lovely breeder. Anyhow come I'm sorry for the long post. Thank you for fostering!
@sarah cowalski Thank you for fostering! I love that you have a Staffy, it's one of my favorite breeds to foster. There are unfortunately so many of them here in the shelters, it's sad. Your Bowser sounds like quite the character. Sounds like he lives you and your dad as much as you love him ❤
Down to earth commentary. Enjoy the "realness" of you, and your presentation. It's astonishing how many people (including myself), who are fascinated with sharks.
I appreciate the perspective of this show. There's a bit of a pendulum swing when it comes to predators. It's fair to say people overreacted back in the day and killed tons of big sharks for no good reason. But in the effort to downplay the "Jaws" effect, the authorities and press tend to go too far the other way. It's true most encounters are so non-eventful the people have no idea a larger shark was right next to them. Drones have proven this. But like you said, you've got a lottery ticket every time you're out there. It's no different from hiking in the woods up here in AK.
On perspective though, it's always wild to me what freaks people out and what they consider their 'absolutely nots'... the same people I know who say they'll never swim in the ocean don't blink an eye about driving home after they've had a glass of wine.
Sharks not always hunting they sleep allot while moving ! Most your Drones film is young faster sharks no need to eat a surfer the old big sharks slow and take anything !
@@420JackG Wine does not cause a crash ! I know your been educated that is the only reason for a car crash and it true some do ! However the reality is more sober people crash and kill people that is the truth ! Are you one them folks that >>>>> surf around great white sharks and keep a eye out for cars which far more likely to kill you ?
I just love Hal and his wife for their work with rescuing cats! I also rescue cats, they are so abused, neglected, mistreated and innocent. Rescue a cat everyone and support you local cat shelter, it helps so much. Get them spayed and insured as well, give them healthy real food.
No wonder you give off such a familiar vibe, I grew up with machinists, never became one myself, but it's what both my dad and grandfather did in two different eras. Forever I thought machine oil is just how men smelled. You seem like those kind of people. Thanks for the videos Hal. Excited to see you build this thing out.
There is a cat rescue outfit in FLA called Metal Meowlitia. It was started in part by a member of a famous Death metal band in response to all the kitty's in need in his neighborhood. That's hardcore.
I know these aren't sharks , but have you ever thought doing a report on Crocodile/Alligator attacks? Sometimes they're even worse than shark attacks!🐊🐊
Once or twice a week all the neighbours take turns at dropping past Hal's place. "Um, just stopping bye to see if you've been out rescuing all those lost cats again Hal, it's upsetting the kids Hal. Look see, Ditsy has her name on her collar, it's the 4th time Hal. Dont ever give her away again please Hal. Look it's Miss Ditsy"
Happy Anniversary Hal, i am glad i stumbled upon this site. Keep those great stories coming :) As an animal lover, big thanks to you and your wife for saving the cats :)
My dad was a machinist. He was an inspector for the shop. He then became salesman for a few shops. Tool and die shops in south El Monte ca. Thank you for your channel. Love and God bless.
You do an awesome job! As a surfer in Delaware, not known to have many attacks, have had two really scary encounters! People need to realize that these aren't simply the "beautiful, amazing animals" that they are, but that they are seriously dangerous too! Thank you for putting the reality of these creatures out there!
Ah, u guys have just learned the secret to calm sharks, esp Great Whites, by flipping them over on their backs & rubbing their tummies! Right @B Real, Jim Beam?
Hi love u and your show, and u rescue cats! I'm a feeder of four colonies in sacramento,ca. Been at it for ten years now. Still can't drive by a feral cat without stopping to drop food, bc u know its not going to eat that day. The most I've had was eleven rescues. Makes u feel all fuzzy inside. Thanks to u and the wife for helping out the little animals
Thank you much for saving the kitties! I’ve been in animal rescue for 25 years. We also foster which more times than I can count, we failed at the fostering! We now have 4 cats & a dog. First time in 40 years with only one dog! Love your channel!
Amazing story teller!! The pictures of those sharks are mind blowing. I'll just stay by the pool from now on can't believe how far out from the beach we went when we were younger. Thank you for sharing these true stories. Congratulations on your first year and again your the best story teller on RUclips truly gifted.
Big congrats on coming this far mate I'm eager to see what the future holds! Keep it up everyone who watches loves the show by what I've seen in the comments this is my favorite channel on RUclips
I was in the Navy and at least once on a long cruise we would stop in the middle of the ocean for a swim call. One of us would carry a rifle, just in case a shark appears. They could then notify all the crew to get out of the water, there is a shark nearby. I'm tempted to invest in a quadracopter to fly over the swimmers and get a good survey of the area. Now, I've found an excuse to buy one. :-)
Hal, I really appreciate your channel. I'm a 68 year old man. I grew up in northern California along the Pacific coast in the town of Eureka. When I was a teenager my friends and I used to dive for abalone off the rocks about 40 miles north of town. We were told that the area had large sharks, including Great White sharks. We thought we were bullit proof. We always thought people were just messing with us. I learned later that they were telling the truth. It made me shiver. I realized we were lucky. Every time I watch your show I get that same feeling. Still after all these years. I love what your doing and appreciate all the hard work. Thanks for the shivers...I think? JeJerry Ps. I heard what you said a bout continuing to feel the motion after a long drive. I worked on a commercial fishing boat for about 2 years. During the summer months we would go way offshore to fish for albacore. We cooled the fish we caught with ice. We would stay out as long as our ice would last or until we filled the boat. The boat was 42 feet long and used to roll a lot. In order to walk you had to learn how to compensate for the motion. It's referred to as "getting your sea legs". After 2 weeks on the the water we would climb onto the docks and rock back and forth to steady the docks. It didn't last very long but it was funny. Thanks again for bringing back a good memory! Jerry
Love your channel, Hal. Fellow Michigander, born and raised in Royal Oak, also lived in Traverse City. Fished with my Dad all over the state. And lots of deep sea fishing in Fla. Gulf of Mexico, with my Dad. I was a lucky girl for sure. Dad was a machinist also.
As a fellow Michigander, I would like to thank you for your channel. I really enjoy your content. Congratulations on your one year anniversary. You deserve all the good things that come your way.
Imagine my surprise and delight when I got to the end of this video and got to hear a little about who you are and what you aspire to do. Thank you for sharing. I never imagined that this channel would blow up the way it has and I'm so happy for you. I have a lot of respect for creatures in the water and have a fascination with sharks. You are a fun story teller and keep getting better and better. Congrats on your year!
This is easily my favorite channel. I used to dive in Hawaii (Oahu) and I saw sharks frequently but they were just little reef sharks. Keep up the great work.
Hal I remember when you first started! I’m so happy that your channel has come this far! I’m always looking forward to your new posts! Sometimes if you didn’t post in a week or even longer I would start worrying about you. Didn’t know if you were sick or if things were OK in your life. This was also cool because you kind of told us a little bit about yourself! I think that’s awesome, I wish you could share a little bit more about yourself! Thank you so much for sharing and all that you do! Keep us updated on the new kitty! One of your fans from the beginning! Liz😊💗👍🏼🦈
congratulations on your first year! I was an early supporter and have been hooked, no pun intended. Still looking forward to you covering the Adam Strange attack which I recommended last year-it is one of the worst attacks I've ever heard about. And thank you for rescuing cats!
CONGRATS on one year Hal! So glad I found your channel... One of my favs! Keep up the great work. I personally don't mind that you jump around on the dates and do love that you concentrate on big sharks too. Great to hear a bit of your personal life as well. 💙🦈
My father was a master scuba diver. He's done a few dives. He's done some cave diving and found an old boat anchor from a ship wreck in Pensacola, Florida When he injured his back in a snow sledding accident that was the end of his diving. He used to tell me some things about sharks and I used to be worried about a potential shark attack after seeing Jaws as a kid. I've had divers in the past tell me that there is not much to worry about as shark attacks were rare. Watching this channel I'm starting to think that becoming a scuba diver may be a bad idea. The thought of being bitten in half or losing a limb scares the hell out of me. I'm subbing...Thanks Hal!
Congrats on one year anniversary of the channel. I enjoy your narration of the incidents and can pretty much visualize myself. So glad you're still on and get the sub numbers up.
God bless you for rescuing cats!!! We just found a newborn. Bottle feeding every 2 hours. I'm 56 and it's not easy. Lol. My 26 year old daughter takes turns on nights with me. Frodo- Bean is his name. WE LOVE CATS AND SHARKS!
Congrats on the big one year anniversary, Hal! Loving your show so much!! Thanks for all you do. (I’m a scuba diver from the Pacific Northwest… the Puget Sound is my playground…. And thanks to your wonderfully graphic descriptions, I may never dive again…. Lol). Because “When I go into that water I am much more afraid of those sharks than they are of me.”
Thank u so much for rescuing kitties. We need more ppl like u. I luv ur channel too. U put so much work into ur videos. U n ur wife r wonderful ppl. Thank u.
Congratulations Hal with your one year anniversary. Personally I love your stories, no pictures necessary. I find myself feeling distressed for the victims of the attacks you describe. I subscribed to another You Tube shark guy, "Asmoth" he's pretty good, when there isn't a new "sharks happen" BTW, that mega shark tooth is awesome ! I can't afford what they're going for though....Keep up the good work !
Agreed, *Congrats Hal!* You deserve every bit of the success of this channel, it's awesome so thank you!! I watch Asmoth too! I love Hal & Sharks Happen is definitely 1 of my fave channels on YT, but I also like Asmoth. Some ppl try to compare or pit them against each other, but there is room for both (I mean, who isn't OK with more shark attack videos??) Asmoth focuses on usually only 1 attack per show, goes into greater detail about them & sometimes I like to close my eyes & occasionally fall asleep listening to him (no shade meant, it's just like storytelling to me)....whereas I am up & intently listening to Hal. People that say Asmoth is copying are incorrect - he actually started doing this before Sharks Happen, Hal just blew up, way faster than most YT channels. Take care Dorothy- ✌🏼💜🦈
@@handbaghound Oh really? I usually put my phone down & just listen to him - the few times I read some comments, I kinda felt bad for him cause so many people were telling him he sucked, that they loved Hal…or he was copying Hal. That is the whole reason I made my comment, I thought maybe ppl would realize there is room for both. 😂 What was I thinking?? No one cares. Plus I told Asmoth I watched SH & would mention his channel in the comment section, the next night I saw a comment from Asmoth after several ppl giving him shit about Hal being better - he seemed a little salty about the whole situation. 🤷🏻♀️Oh well, I tried. Tell me about what you meant, if u would. Thnx💜✌🏼
I enjoy the videos, thank you for doing them and congratulations and I hope you are benefiting from them. I go to Hawaii and Florida as lot and only go out waste deep.now I will only just get my feet wet.had no idea how many attacks happened in shallow water.thank you .
My brother is a machinist and it is a very hard job. I'm a new fan but I'm so glad you got the chance to do this and find out later in life that you have a natural gift for storytelling( that episode about the USS Indianapolis was easily the most riveting and raw and visceral account of those events ive EVER heard. I even had nightmares about it that night lol) and an impressive knowledge of all things SHARK lol...I'm definitely addicted to this channel now! Congratulations on a successful first year !!!
Congratulations on your channel Hal. You had me hooked from the first episode I watched. You're an awesome story teller. I look forward to every show and if you don't upload in a few days, I notice, as I'm sure other viewers do as well. Keep em coming. Take care.
You are a good spirit! Thanks for rescuing kittens. About a month ago I noticed that there was 3 mother cats and their kittens coming onto our back covered patio late at night. A white momma and her 3 kittens, one white, one a gray calico, and a gray kitten. Also a gray cat, a calico momma with a yellow &white kitten. I started putting out a big of fresh water and food for them every night plus toys for the kittens. I have been getting so much joy watching them on our security camera each day in the history saved on our camera.. I look forward to seeing them each day. One night a young possum showed up on our patio while the white momma cat and her kittens were there and she gave that possum hell, she was hissing and slapping it until it got out of there. So far it hasn't been back. It was so funny to watch. She let it know that he isn't welcome! Lol. I feel it's a blessing to be able to provide for these fur baby families and to get to enjoy them without disturbing them. It's been really hot here, 111 degrees in the day. They apparently have some place they go during the day to get out of the heat. I really enjoy your show and thank you for sharing with us. My heart goes out to the families and friends of the shark attack victims and to the ones who were fortunate enough to survive. When I was younger I got in the ocean in Virginia Beach, and Myrtle Beach. But I live in North Central Texas now and have no interest in getting in the ocean now. Keep the videos coming and blessings to you and your family. 😊
Happy one year anniversary, Hal!! Sincere congratulations on your most "down to Earth, tell them like it is" shark channel. You present us with all the facts and then, with a now quite famous warning, leave it up to us to decide if we are willing to stroll, uninvited , through a shark's home. I always laugh when I see someone quote your warning and give credit to you and your channel in another creator's comments section. You're everywhere, Hal!! Here's to many more years🦈🍾🎉
Happy anniversary! Just recently found your channel and love it! I had no idea there were this many shark attacks! I think sharks are absolutely beautiful creatures, but this channel has given me a new respect for the amount of damage they can do with just a single bite.
I was a machine operator and use to fix my own dyes . The youngest woman to work a double machine . I made high performance car parts . Nappa , I worked at Echlins . In CT. I'm one of your first 10000 and I loved your show from the first especially because you weren't a fake !!! It's not easy to find honesty on here or anywhere so thank you and as always. Congratulations 🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊
Awe Hal! You're amazing! We all loved that personal touch at the end...thank you for leveling with us "common RUclips community fan club folk"! You are appreciated for all your hard work and dedication, you shine an educational light on all us. Keep doing what you're doing..and don't ever change. We LOVE you for that! 💙❤💜 (Pssst! Congratulations on the success of your channel!!!)
Michigan man myself, Hal… Have a cabin we’re headed to tomorrow morning for some Spring Turkey hunting. I’ll be listening to Sharks Happen on the way up.. Another awesome video
Me, too. I went out with relatives to watch the Blue Angels on Lake Washington. The water was so choppy. I ended up throwing up over the side. Every boat around my side was pushing off of us as hard as they could. My motion sickness is awful.
Hey Hal, I’m from Michigan too. 😄 The last story is most likely what would happen to me. I’d work up the nerve to get in a boat and on the ocean and a darn shark would jump in the boat and eat me.
No matter who you modeled your show after I think you do a very good job. I enjoy the way you talk to us as if we’re in the same room with you. Just be yourself and you’ll be good. Thanks for the content.
Happy 1st anniversary - congrats on what has become one of my favourite YT channels. Your sincerity and depth of knowledge is just so impressive. Also - your story about resuing and re-homing cats demonstrates the depth of empathy and compassion you have as a human being. Go Hal !
Love your channel. We're also Michiganders, heading to the UP in 2 weeks. Gotta love Michigan, big water, no salt, no sharks!! We rescue dogs. Thanks for rescuing cats,, there is such a huge need. ❤ Keep up the great work!!
Happy Anniversary, Hal!!!! And I bet most of your viewers are like me - I don’t care that your stories jump around in time. I just like hearing lots of different shark attack stories. Keep it up! 🦈
Thanks for the information, it makes sense why you were so vague in your answer the other day, you already had this planned. ( if you've seen this already, apologies, my WiFi is playing silly buggers) Much better than the "blah, blah, blah" I mentioned. Well done on the year, and all the subscribers.
Loved hearing about your background and how you got started with the channel. I always figured you were a fisherman who lived on the water somewhere awesome! Great work and congrats on a year 🎉
To think I did a mission trip out to Honduras and I was frolicking in the Caribbean…. Nothing happed but I did not know then what i now know either. I was born in the east bay of California love water but always got easily freaked out by seaweed touching me and just the idea of whatever critters are in the water that I never really took to ocean swimming. Now you dont have to worry outside of a boat i dont anticipate going in any oceans to swim, actually even bodies of fresh water ie lakes get the 😒side eye because of what i now know about bull sharks! Im so good Hal i wont be punching any lottery tickets to go into the water period! Thank you for these informative fascinating stories.
Hal, thank you for your tasteful tales of shark attacks. It's always sad when someone loses a life while in the ocean, but it IS the sharks' domain, and we go at our own risk. I especially admire you for saving kitties, being a lifelong animal lover myself. My rescued pets gave me so much love and happiness, I always try to help them. It makes me sick to hear of people who do harm to them on purpose, what kind of "human being" does that?! Animals are special gifts to us, and we need to look after them. God bless you and your wife for your kind work! Be well and keep the videos coming, please. Happy anniversary!
Congratulations on the 1 year anniversary Hal. Im a hobby machinist trying to learn G code , so hats off to you for your profession. Love the channel, great delivery.
Youll pick it up. Like learning a language. Is nothing near the learning of the cutting/drilling/tool sharpening and everything else machinists need to learn
Hey, check out a smaller channel called "Scary Animal Attacks". The guy has several other channels that focus on particular animal types like bears, gators, sharks and others. Take care!
@@karnagefails333 there's another guy I follow who focuses on one animal per video but shows crocs a lot BC people like those the best. His channels name is Claws! Thx for the recommendation too! I subbed.
YEEESSSS!!!! Hal the Sharkman you spoil us brother! Another great one! I go back and watch Sharks Happen videos I have already seen also ha! You always pick up on stuff you may have missed first go around. 🤘🦈🤘🏴☠️
I really enjoy your channel, Hal. I've been subscribed for a few weeks, from the moment I found it. I really look forward to your videos. I'm almost 72 and have always been fascinated by sharks, even though I've spent my life in the midwest. Sharks just do what God designed them to do. I'm forever amazed that so many people swim, surf, dive, etc., in the presence of sharks. Those same people wouldn't dream of walking around in the wilds of Africa, India, Alaska, or wherever large land predators live, even if they were heavily armed. Yet they think little or nothing about the fact that, as land animals, people are tremendously handicapped both physically and sensory-wise when in the water. Amazing! Also, thanks for talking about your working background and the cats. I was getting curious about you as a person and how you ended up doing your RUclips channel, and my wife and I share your family's affection for homeless cats.
It was a pleasure to 'meet' you in this video. You're a terrific story teller. It's interesting to know what else you've done, and what you like to do. BTW, I've never had a complaint about anything you've done on your channel: your style, your presence, your opinions, your presentation - they all work well for me. I agree with your general opinion about sharks that are involved in attacks. They're in _their_ habitat, into which humans venture at their own risk.
Found you a month back and have really enjoyed your shows. Great story teller. I find the stories and the variety of sharks involved in the attacks so fascinating. BTW, I'm a Michigander too. And my Dad was also a tool and die guy his entire life. Nice to see you are getting a good amount of regular subscribers. Congratulations to one year!
I cannot imagine dying surrounded by murky green salt water and my own blood. A shark attack is a triple threat- you’re faced with drowning, bleeding out AND fighting off an apex predator. Scary stuff. Excellent content as always!
Congratulations on your 1st year. Hal u are like an old friend just sitting around sharing shark stories. There is something to be said about people who have that gift to just make people feel that comfortable and relaxed in their presence. U have that gift!!!!
Ellis Beach that's my neighbouring beach. I swim there a lot I never knew. The surf clubs there and it's an awesome beach, I've always been more worried about crocs & irrikandji, living in far north Queensland I mostly see reef sharks and once a big bronze whaler at green island
So happy for you, Hal. You and MrBallen and AK Nation are the channels I like the most because you are just real folks having a conversation with friends. Thank you for sticking with it and doing the work. I mention your channel on other sites and encourage others to check you out. You'll never run out of stories, I'm sure. What about the subject I've been bugging you about? 🤔 Animal communicater Anna Breytenbach communicates with Great White Sharks? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this and maybe you can get her on the show. 🤷🏼♀️ Btw, do you ever go fishing where you might run into... dare I say it... SHARKS? 🦈
Hi, spongemonkeysooz, yes, Anna Breytenbach also communicates with sharks. I've watched her on several shows now and she truly impresses me. Did you see the one program when she "spoke" to this beautiful black leopard? He was so angry and upset at first, and she calmed him down immediately. You could SEE IT IN HIS EYES! I was totally floored. He didn't like his original name ("Diablo"; I'd hate it, too), so they offered to re-name him "Spirit", which he really liked. It's a show very much worth seeing. His caretaker tried to communicate with him and was so happy when it actually worked! He was so touched at "Spirit's response, he was moved to tears, and so was I. Let's love the animals and learn to speak to them. Best wishes to you!
I found a kitten in a ditch when it's mother dropped it when lightening struch. I ran out and pulled it out of the water and took it into the house. It had one eye opened...I fell in love with her. My mom and I used a baby doll bottle which was glass with a rubber nipple, came with my doll in 58'. She had to also be taken care of at the other end too. She never grew to be any larger than a4 or 5 mo old cat. I named her Muffin. .
That Collin story really highlights how innocent it all starts off too just another day at the beach, everyone goes, you never saw a shark there before or heard anything besides in the news, game in the water there's lots of people what can go wrong, and then it all does. really compels feelings of gratitude for all the times you may have been out there doing some of these same things but came home unscathed.
Hey my name is Keith Green I'm in Jacksonville Florida I do enjoy your show you seem to be down to earth you have good storytelling abilities and you are a likeable personality wish you well
Yayyy Hal, Happy Anniversary for your first year on RUclips, I'll be here to celebrate with you for the coming anniversaries. I love your channel and don't worry about those armchair critics too much either as far as I'm concerned you're doing a great job for someone who didn't know much about being a RUclips creator. . 👍💖😀
@@julie-annhall2078 Well, I live in a land-locked state so I think that’s unlikely to happen….unless global warming turns out to be a lot worse than projected anyway!
From one rescuer to another, thank you for taking the time out of your show to save and nurture that baby. That babies welfare is much more important than our entertainment. On top of that, great show and I love the segment about old sharks and how they have to swim harder than usual to stay buoyant that never occurred to me. I enjoy all the uploads you do but I especially enjoyed this one. Take care of yourself and keep rescuing!
Scared the shit, outta me again Hal, nice one. So glad I'm from the UK although after listen to your vids I heard we have the most land attacks 🤣 Sheesh she lost a lot of blood in that, thanks again for the great vids and reasons to respect their home.
Speaking of which; her blood looked so fake to me when it was on the step at the back of the boat. Had to remind myself,: this is real and this is not a movie. Yikes!
There is some interesting film of shark cage diving on RUclips, off Norfork Island with big Tiger Sharks and Whites. Actually huge Tiger Sharks. Thankyou for this page I love it.
Talking bout the shark jumping out the water landing in boat. I live close to Hilton Head SC. And there was a guy working for a boat rental place. And one of their customers were having a problem. And he was heading out on a jet ski a fast one. To assist them. He was hauling butt across the sound. And a large ray jumped out of the water right in his path hits him right in the upper chest neck area. Knocks him out and off the jet ski. Broke a couple of ribs caused some swelling of the brain. Damn near killed him. Luckily there was a boat in the area a witnessed the incident. Got him out of the water called 911 and got him some help. If they hadn't been there. He probably wouldn't have made it.
Can't get enough of this channel, just brilliant every time and love the ending comment that we're more afraid of the sharks is so true and they deserve our respect. I once heard a joke about a father and son Great White swimming along and the son asks his father 'Dad, why is it we always circle humans showing our fin before we eat them?....The Dad replies' Because son, they taste much better without the s##t in them'. Already looking forward to the next video and thank you for sharing this great info.
Remora (the little fish) are too small and not worth the energy for the shark to go after. plus they keep the sharks clean and the sharks appreciate that

Well said. I absolutely love cats and all animals so well done and it seems there'll be a special place for you up there as well! Good on Ya!
I'm a shameless cat lover as well. I have a sweet Tiger that I rescued from the local pound. I love seeing other cat lovers do good!! 🐈 ❤ 🐈⬛
That bobcat turned me into a cat person.
As a foster for an animal rescue, I greatly appreciate how much you and your wife help/rescue cats! Much respect!!!! Cheers 🍻
What do you foster ? I foster for Rottweiler Rescues.
@sarah cowalski is that another word for Dachshund?
@sarah cowalski Thank you for fostering! I love that you have a Staffy, it's one of my favorite breeds to foster. There are unfortunately so many of them here in the shelters, it's sad. Your Bowser sounds like quite the character. Sounds like he lives you and your dad as much as you love him ❤
Bless you! Have 5 feral (no more) rescue kitties. And two road rescue dogs! Love them to bits! They are so happy to have a home and regular meals 😂
Don't think the danger can be hammered home enough!
I’ve been fortunate after spending my early years surfing around the world and my home base was SF. And then another 12 yrs living in Alaska.
All my life I've loved listening to shop/garage talk- way more entertaining than kitchen talk
Throw in a junkyard dog too😜
Sharks happen is one of my favorite channels. Direct and without excessive drama.
Happy Anniversary Hal ! Keep the shows coming!(And keep saving kitties,I have 6 rescues myself !)
There is a cat rescue outfit in FLA called Metal Meowlitia. It was started in part by a member of a famous Death metal band in response to all the kitty's in need in his neighborhood. That's hardcore.

Tell us what kind of shark, how big, and more details?
Details on the encounters?
Ah, u guys have just learned the secret to calm sharks, esp Great Whites, by flipping them over on their backs & rubbing their tummies!
Right @B Real, Jim Beam?

Hi love u and your show, and u rescue cats! I'm a feeder of four colonies in sacramento,ca. Been at it for ten years now. Still can't drive by a feral cat without stopping to drop food, bc u know its not going to eat that day. The most I've had was eleven rescues. Makes u feel all fuzzy inside. Thanks to u and the wife for helping out the little animals
My man Hal back at it again with the quality content!
Congratulations on first and great comment ! 😎 Checkmate !
Enjoy this channel. Hats off to a fellow Michigander. Lived in Punta Gorda Fl for 14 years too. Moved back north too many snakes and stuff for me now.
Big congrats on coming this far mate I'm eager to see what the future holds! Keep it up everyone who watches loves the show by what I've seen in the comments this is my favorite channel on RUclips

@@westpointdaughter7089 it's a good day when Hal sits down and tells some stories to us
I was in the Navy and at least once on a long cruise we would stop in the middle of the ocean for a swim call.
Jerry

Nice that you rescue cats ❤😊 I can appreciate the work/effort it takes to help animals in need.

I was a surfer for 10 years I'm glad I found this channel because I watched these all the time
Hal I remember when you first started!
He's done some cave diving and found an old boat anchor from a ship wreck in Pensacola, Florida
When he injured his back in a snow sledding accident that was the end of his diving. He used to tell me some things about sharks and I used to be worried about a potential shark attack
after seeing Jaws as a kid.
I hope you don't ask a question in the comments section, they'll rip you apart. Play it safe...just ask Hal

Here's to many more years🦈🍾🎉
Thanks for everything Hal, I love listening to your voice, just something about your storytelling.
Happy anniversary! Just recently found your channel and love it! I had no idea there were this many shark attacks! I think sharks are absolutely beautiful creatures, but this channel has given me a new respect for the amount of damage they can do with just a single bite.

Congrats on one year! Can’t wait for more! Great job and keep ‘em coming!
Me, too. I went out with relatives to watch the Blue Angels on Lake Washington. The water was so choppy. I ended up throwing up over the side. Every boat around my side was pushing off of us as hard as they could. My motion sickness is awful.
Hey Hal, I’m from Michigan too. 😄
The last story is most likely what would happen to me. I’d work up the nerve to get in a boat and on the ocean and a darn shark would jump in the boat and eat me.
From Michigan too!💙💛💙

It's always sad when someone loses a life while in the ocean, but it IS
the sharks' domain, and we go at our own risk. I especially admire you for saving kitties, being a lifelong animal lover myself.
My rescued pets gave me so much love and happiness, I always try to help them. It makes me sick to hear of people who do
harm to them on purpose, what kind of "human being" does that?! Animals are special gifts to us, and we need to look after
them. God bless you and your wife for your kind work! Be well and keep the videos coming, please. Happy anniversary!

We love you here in south Africa Hal pls don't change a dam thing. Keep em comming. It's also your delivery that is so appealing.

I've watched her on several shows now
and she truly impresses me. Did you see the one program when she "spoke" to this beautiful black leopard? He was so
angry and upset at first, and she calmed him down immediately. You could SEE IT IN HIS EYES! I was totally floored. He
didn't like his original name ("Diablo"; I'd hate it, too), so they offered to re-name him "Spirit", which he really liked. It's a
show very much worth seeing. His caretaker tried to communicate with him and was so happy when it actually worked!
He was so touched at "Spirit's response, he was moved to tears, and so was I. Let's love the animals and learn to speak
to them.

I see new sharks happen vid, i click. I'm only human.
It was nice to hear more about you, Hal! LOVE LOVE LOVE your show! You need merch! I would TOTALLY buy a Sharks Happen shirt!
That Collin story really highlights how innocent it all starts off too
just another day at the beach, everyone goes, you never saw a shark there before or heard anything besides in the news, game in the water there's lots of people what can go wrong, and then it all does.
really compels feelings of gratitude for all the times you may have been out there doing some of these same things but came home unscathed.

Wot even a shark 🦈?
So glad I'm from the UK although after listen to your vids I heard we have the most land attacks 🤣
Sheesh she lost a lot of blood in that, thanks again for the great vids and reasons to respect their home.
Nice work, Hal, and congratulations!
We're going to need a bigger boat
A great first year Hal - Thankyou - I watch every episode & my favourite thus far is the Jurian Bay - Bob Bartle attack from 1967: Congrats Hal:
Can't get enough of this channel, just brilliant every time and love the ending comment that we're more afraid of the sharks is so true and they deserve our respect. I once heard a joke about a father and son Great White swimming along and the son asks his father 'Dad, why is it we always circle humans showing our fin before we eat them?....The Dad replies' Because son, they taste much better without the s##t in them'. Already looking forward to the next video and thank you for sharing this great info.
I first heard that joke backstage at a Ron White show in Mi. Sister got me and me wife VIP tickets and Ron told 30 or so of us that joke. Loved it
Machinists are awesome. Glad you got out of the shop and onto you tube. Thanks for doing the shows.
Does anyone know why sharks don't eat all those little fish that swim around them?
hmmm ... probably because they can't catch them, they stay close to their bodies.
I think they kinda clean the shark, mobile shark wash
Remora (the little fish) are too small and not worth the energy for the shark to go after. plus they keep the sharks clean and the sharks appreciate that
@@sergeant_salty those are kool .. they have suction on their heads to hitch a ride :)
Thanks everyone!!! Very kind of you!! 🦈🦈🦈🦈🦈🦈🦈
