Great video .. just ordered my Thor .. might have to hit you up for some 12V LED strips and a p45B split pack. I was on the fence about installing the fungineers motor plug but after this video .. defo !! A++
I'm interested in the specifics regarding the mounting of the thor300. Is it feasible to make an adapter plate to mount the Thor in a controller box meant for a lil focer? (eg Floatboxx MLC?)
Super confused on the boost pack why does it only need charger negative on main pack and charger positive on boost pack? I’m not getting how it’s a complete charge circuit like that? Wouldnt it just be charging the boost pack like this?
Entirely based on capacity. This build is 600Wh with Molicel P42a's, but I'd personally recommend Samsung 50s cells which would get you 720Wh. Then take efficiency which is roughly 15Wh/km for me, and you get like 35-40km of range
Awesome board. Question. Would it be too much of a pain in the ass to measure your finished wires before taping them up so you know in the future how long each cable needs to be? I wish I could do what you do 👍🏻🤙🏻✌🏻
Hey mate, tried to get the point across in this guide that you should just leave extra cable to cut it to length and solder the plugs on. That way builds that vary in size and design are all functional. Specific lengths are only useful on a board to board basis. Hope this helps
you don't happen to have a extra set of those rails do you? I had the same ones and got robbed for my 75 v Thor 300 build with those rails. :'( hoping it pops up somehow.
Brother possible to do the same for the GT build and list all the parts needed? The newb here will have to buy the parts and have someone actually build it 😅
1:01 - 20s2p main battery build
5:58 - boost battery build
male / female xt60 connectors for i/o 12 ga wire
bullet connector for charge +
2 pin jstph2 connector for balance
control system
7:09 - install thor controller to lid w/ thermal paste
7:26 - LED install beginning (12v strips)
8:10 - connect wires to controller (wire charger connector: gx16 to female XT30)
8:27 - connect fungineer's motor plug (with heat shrink over the phase connectors)
8:41 - convert hypercore motor wiring harness to fungineer's motor plug
8:44 - cut motor wiring harness half way, strip wires, tin them
9:01 - determine how long to make the fungineers plug (don't forget all of the heat shrinks)
hall sensor cable harness wiring:
red - 5v
white - temperature
black - ground
yellow / blue / green - hall signals
10:02 - test fit with rail
10:14 - cable harness (controller battery)
make one end with all plugs, fit to decide how long to cut the other end
connectors / wires:
- main power line from main battery pack to boost pack
- charge line from charge port to BMS charge input
- battery positive line from boost pack positive to BMS battery input
- two small balance cables with JSTPH2 plugs for 19th and 20th cell groups
- 3 pin connector for tail LEDs
12:12 - install new hardness, tighten the M20 cable glands
12:25 - install LED and pickle BMS with mounting tape
12:36 - install thermistor for battery pack
12:40 - plug in everything. verify polarity w/ multimeter
12:58 - install lids (kapton tape where necessary to hold wires in place)
neoprene sponge to provide light compression on the boost pack
Love the ending. Good recovery.
Thanks for the content once again

Super video , Thanks my friend
Where did you source the super neat pre cut nickle? Really like the balance tab design.
Where did you get those battery pack jigs or does any one know where i can get the file to print them
Amazing 😮 I’m learning stuff! Your workmanship is top notch. Plus we need to check out Victoria Park 🎉 🙌🏼
I'm interested in the specifics regarding the mounting of the thor300. Is it feasible to make an adapter plate to mount the Thor in a controller box meant for a lil focer? (eg Floatboxx MLC?)
Don't think so, best to get a box designed for it

Could I use a Superflux motor in this build? I’m thinking the vow boxes and XR rails….
Is the sleeve of oreo's at 6:00 required for successful assembly?
How do you go about converting a board to VESC? How do you convert a GT to VESC? is there more to it than just a different controller??
“PEV dispensary” 😂🤙🏻
Could you put a 20s battery on a normal FM XR? Or is there a lot more to it? I am still trying to figure out how the whole onewheel system works.
You cannot, the onewheel XR controller only supports 63v batteries (15s)
@@directoranges1233 Ahh ok, Thank you so much!!
Any idea on what range you'd get from this set up as its probably the exact same set up i want,

Would you consider a split pack more risky for BMS or battery overheating/blowing up than a single pack?

Got it. Makes sense. Was just curious

The Oreos disappeared too fast!
Quality observation
I don't see anybody conformal coating the VESC board..... why not?
I don't know how to conformal coat 🤷
I think atlow shop does it, most don't for the same reason as me
Would it be possible to do this with a onewheel+?
Yup, I also made a split pack 20s2p 21700 pack and used the skeleton of a onewheel+ as the base.
the led cage on the desk is neat, is that more uniform lighting or just rgb go brrrrt?
Uniform lighting, seeing things go brrrrrr
