I had a doubt with how to find out the frontal area of my FSAE aero assembly and this video helped a LOT. Thank you sir.

Thanks! Very informative video. I always wanted to know how to create a measurement feature. This will be very useful for me.

David....have you created a video on how to calculate internal volume for an assembly, similar to your motor assembly that was part of this video? Primarily calculating the amount of oil needed to fill a motor to a specific level, or to fill all the voids and features inside a multi-part assembly. This may be a complex procedure for a video, but if you have a technique you could share that would be great.

I have not created a video on that. The process is so dependent on the nature of the geometry that you are trying to measure. Basically you are using a bunch of surfacing techniques, which ever ones you need, to construct the enclosed volume any way that you can. Then measure the properties of the quilt. Or if that doesn't work, somehow create an external envelope, solidify it, then do a Boolean subtraction of the component geometry. I don't have one process. I look at the situation and come up with a roadmap. It tends to be boring and tedious. I don't see myself making a video on that, because it's not an interesting problem IMHO, and it can call for any of several dozen tools in Creo. And possibly involve BMX.

Thanks. Btw I have this suggestion on PTC Community to make the angle measurement function easier to use and understand: community.ptc.com/t5/Creo-Parametric-Ideas/Angle-measurement-default-to-Supplement/idi-p/575119
