Yes competitor hona chahiye chahe kissi v field ka ho becoz agar single company ki agar market me monopoly rhe gi toh future me problem hogi competitor se competition badhega toh humari hi arm forces ko hi fayeda milega or quality pe v effect nhi parega
And what about the money,that TATA has already spent in developing the Kestrel. Do you think it was cheap to develop? Were they informed about this earlier? If I am a defence contractor I would certainly not want my system to be replaced or thought about being replaced by another one. And that too after passing all tests. This will deter companies from entering the defence sector.

Now that's more like it, if there's a competition then we would get most advanced ever in military. L&T is latest company who got click into military few days ago with unmanned helo. Companies are competing with eachother, this is good sign for Both "Defence Industry" & "Make in India".

Indian military don't cares who is defense contractor. They tell their requirements, and every defense co. has right to participate in tender.
@@siddharthshekhar909 and 1 more , requirement of infantry vehicles is very huge . So most defense sector cos. will do their best, because profit which they will earn is huge as well.
@@manoharbauskar3605 Without private sector involvement , there can be no significant advances in defence. Kisi ne force Kiya tha..? Ye kareena kapoor type attitude nahi chalega. The Indian government NEEDS the private sector.
Govt should give orders to L1 and L2 with 60:40 ratio. By this our two companies will certified for export market. And army will get their products fast.
This competition is going to help develop our own F-22 one day.

As big as Indian army is and as large a border they have to defend i think there is place for both of these Wheeled Armoured Platforms.
Also it's excellent to develop an ecosystem where more than one private entities are competing over who will have the biggest share of the pie.
And at the end of the day it's survival of the fittest babyyyyyyy!

Competition will benefit our Army.....and it will also give us multiple base models to try different configurations..... and secret weapons
It would be good to have a single reliable platform for wheeled and tracked vehicles and then appropriate turrets fit on them for the roles, there are many roles possible,
1. CIWS version with say 20 mm cannon or 0.5 in Gatling gun with say 4 MISTRAL missiles, this can be QR Gun-missile SHORAD. These are attached to tank battalions,
2. Tank killer, This should have 8 X ATGMs like Spike or MPATGM or mix of both, to provide anti tank capability to ground forces. Also it should have a anti bunker/anti strong hold missile (warhead with HE warhead)
3. Ground support version with say 120 mm low power gun, for firing HE rounds, the gun need not be very powerful, as the shells do not need very high kinetic energy, also with this, troops can have ground support with the gun, also this gun can also fire Cannon lauched ATGM same one for Arjun to have anti tank capability.
4. Wheeled Tank with 120 mm high power gun with ability to launch ATMS from cannon, 20/30 mm coaxial gun and remote station to fire 0.5 inch MMG for anti helicopter or anti personal,
5. Terminators, this version should have say 100/120 mm gun, with 30 mm co-axial, 4 ATGMS + 4 Mistals, & 0.5 inch Gatling on remote station to provide all round firepower. Terminator is more like a fantasy model.
6. Twin mortar platform, with say 120 mm or say 150 mm twin breach loading mortar to able to perform howitzer duty on LAC etc. these can be deployed and moved faster and able to provide higher firepower and give protection to its crews.
7. I would also like a system with 6 PINAKA launchers on this, this platform might be able to move in and out much faster due to its stable platform.

Good development. How the West ensures quality/cost/efficiency. However Indian govt should also keep in mind that when two (or more) companies present projects, the winning design is given to BOTH companies to produce in order to ensure that the ecosystem thrives.
I don't know which is better...but i am glad to see this type of competition amongst our own Desi company
Honestly I have not yet seen heard this video as yet, but since both these firms are engaged in Indian Military equipment manufacturing, % if share should be given to both 🙏
