nastia is one of the few pro gymnists who have a feminine body. other professional female athletes have very muscular legs, arms, shoulders...etc. she is kind of like anna kornikova.
2/ When I learned that my grand daughter became a champion in her gymnastic group in Westchester, New York. I said to my Irish son-in-law that I was worried about the danger being a gymnast. His answer was that even a bicycle rider can get killed by riding a bicycle ! She is only 12 years old, but received a standing ovation in her summer camp before they went to London for the Olympic a few days ago. George Wu, AIA 2012-7-30
1/ attitute of the Russians are amazing. My first International Ballrtoom teacher, Mr. & Mrs. Popov, the Champions from Mosco. taught me in 1991, private lesson on using the hips to swing my Feather step, which gave me the foundation of my Ballroom dancing. Their professionalism impressed me til this day. No wonder Nastia got to the top at such a young age, And her last statement is even more impressive, " we take chance not only on the bar, but also in our every day life."
I Truly Wish They Could Have Given Her A Free-Be Because She Is One Of The Greatest Gymnast In The World And I Know She Would Have Brought Back Another Gold And Really Helped The US Team
age is just age.. I just saw a veteran at the age of 57 or was it 37? I'm not sure.. but they were still able to compete at the Olympics (London 2012) and represent their country! Look at some of the veterans in swimming, diving, basketball, beach volleyball, etc... still competing! As long as they're in great shape, they'll be fine.
Why bother posting such a comment? Do you really feel like you are telling her anything she doesn't know? Maybe you're young and you don't understand how your comment could be interpreted, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who read it and thought the same thing as I. Try being encouraging, supportive, or just plain nice. It'll get you much farther in life, I promise you.
she knew she was in her prime in 08 and at 23 is soooo old for gymnastics and she's still at it THAT in itself is impressive, she knew that she wouldnt do as well as she did in 08 and thats perfectly ok, but she needs a positive outlook or else nothing will ever be possible. and thats what she does and thats what she needs and it is perfectly understandable
She WAS one of the greatest gymnasts in the world, but not anymore. I love her too but she would not have been any help to the US team in London, her time came and went.
it astounds me that she is so strong yet you cant even see her muscles .... i on the other hand, look strong (put her and i together i will have loads more muscle) but am nowhere near at all, as strong as she is inn terms of what my body can do!
Not neccessarily..but most of the times :) I know a lot of people who would have been one of the best in the world (not in gymnastics tho :D) but because there's no money for lessons or whatever they had to quit..that's just how it works :/
I love how family is so important to her

This was amazing. So much respect, and her wisdom.. that made me realise some things. I want to meet her one day.
I too wish she would have made it in. However, the standing ovation she got at the trials was very touching. She had an amazing career.

She's such a better speaker than I remembered

she seems so much more confident in the more resent interviews
I Truly Wish They Could Have Given Her A Free-Be Because She Is One Of The Greatest Gymnast In The World And I Know She Would Have Brought Back Another Gold And Really Helped The US Team
love her! I totally respect her for sticking to her guns until the end of trial.
I can see she means what she says.
i heard that nastia even trains on christmas day!
she is awesome not boring
If she would have started earlier, she could have seriously been considered for the spot given to Kyla Ross. I wish her all the best in the future.
Ya i noticed that too!
She knows. She said so at the post-Visas interview with Andrea Joyce.

37 year old woman competing for Germany. That's extremely rare, however.
Poor thing she didn't make it :(

He/she's just stating their opinion, as you've stated yours. Relax, that's what the comment section is for.
The stems on that girl... Good Lord.

it a damn shame she didn't make it. I'm sure she would have done very well. I guess luck just wasn't in her favor.
Not necessarily. Look at John Orozco.

Yeaahh...You can do anything if you really want to do it.... and if you have money ;) :D Sad reality :)
Do they use the term "Get wrecked" in America? I bet she was like O.O
Piers is so stupid.

did they execute all the other chinese gymnasts that didnt win?
not to mention shawn only trains 4 hours a day..! she trains way less than the usual competitive gymnast..!
she did not make the team....
she is also russian, hahah go figure!
I love gymnastic and Bastia but this interview was kind of boring.
piers is an asshole thats why he made her feel very uncomfortable. arrogant prick.
