That was a scary crash. So glad to hear no one got hurt seriously. These things happen so fast its hard to react. I have never driven a kart but have raced in other cars and stuff and I get it. It happens so fast you just don't have time to stop or make the right decision a lot of times. Merry Christmas!!
Lessons learned: (Hopefully constructive) 1: Front and rear tires need a lot more scrubbing to get heat in them. Practice this. Buy cheap laser temp and document temp and press. 2: If it's really cold, put in a set of broken-in slotted/rain pads so you will have more feel in the brakes. Feel is more important than bite. 3: Accidents happen. Looks like Justin got going ok, excellent you looked left before accelerating into traffic @1:52. 4: Super sacrifice by David to pitch it in the barrier and not spear a competitor. Good to not force past him later. 5: When it's cold, scuffing off the old rubber is pretty important. It was hard to tell, but the rear tires didn't look prepped. 6: As you can see from Gary's adventures, no one has much traction. Leave a bit more room going into turn one. Same if it's rain. If your really close, % of crashing is high, % of getting passed is low. Steer away first, then feather the brakes. Unfortunately, this is learned through crashing experience. 7: @8:10-8:12 you need a bit more Death Grip for that extra .2th sec speed. You are too relaxed. :-) 8: In the last lap as you are trying your hardest, you are on the throttle consistently/earlier/harder through the four-lap chicane. You had more weight to the rear of the kart driving through the turns. Even if you have to touch the brakes a bit, this is much faster and will give you a much greater exit speed to be carried down the straight! Rewind and review your technique on each lap through the chicane. Last lap was by far better being aggressive.
not sure why the first video i watched of yours popped in to my feed, but i'm glad it did. Not something I would have thought to search for. Love the extra footage of the crash, thanks David, and the explanation.
do you race any other tracks? I have been on North Texas Karters tracks back around 2015-2016 with TMGP (racing mini bikes) as well as one down in Katy Texas.
Really nice narration with each of your vids. Improving with each one. Fun, great content, great driving (near LH-F1?) and a blast for me because you to let me ride along. Be nice, chill, love, and enjoy life, well done IAR.
#1 Rule for avoiding all Accidents! Always go for where they've been, rather trying to go around in front of where they are going. Going to the inside is the perfect example of that. Make that your Go To move when driving, and you'll avoid most accidents.
A flat track will almost always clear to the outside. Banked tracks will usually clear to the inside unless the driver has enough presence of mind to hold the brake when he comes to a stop up high.
Cold tracks are so much more difficult! I sent my shifter off the top of t1 at about 65. I thought I was warm enough and sent it. I downshift, and it didn't give me the solid 'shimmy', and I knew I had no traction. I turn in and out came the ass! Right thru the barriers. Somehow not even a rib-check. No bent axle. Lucky that day. (I have also had a guy take flight over/around me, I kept going, but that's another story...)
Great fun video. Is that a tag 100 cc. What make is it. Is the axle part of chassis adjusting. Keep m coming Wheres the track Happy new year. Neal sw fla
Just take your time getting used to it which I think you'll adapt fairly quickly. The grip level and kart performance is insane going from a rental to a race kart.
@@IllegalAlienRacing Is it hard to learn which part of the kart is which because I feel like when getting started with karting if something broke I wouldn’t know and then if I did realise I wouldn’t be able to fix it because I wouldn’t know which part is causing the problem. I’m doing rental at the moment but there is a club racetrack 5 minutes away.
@@IllegalAlienRacing ya, then there's the guy that brings u his bent axle, and asks if you want to see the other parts 'I' bent. Bro, you tucked under late into me, you took flight. 😒
@@marcuswallace2097 it's pretty straightforward. They're fairly simple machines. Unbolt the broken/ bent/ worn part, put a new one back on. You need to be mechanicly inclined to maintain your equipment
@@IllegalAlienRacing did you have any cart damage from the crash? Weather plays a big factor in set ups and performance. Cold temps always mean more power but can cause less grip. Your corner entry is looking great 👍
Do you think that the cold track conditions was a factor in the first corner 'incident'? You did well to avoid it, you're too hard on yourself saying you should have gone to the inside. Good stuff anyway.
David only has about 3 months of karting experience. He has a great disposition and is a welcomed addition to the DKC club. Plus he’s Israeli, so the NASCAR joke falls a bit flat…

Agreed, it happens super fast. You make a decision and have to live it with because you can't change it once you're committed! Cheers Nashguy!

Awesome video!! That crash reminded me of the Lewis & Max crash in monza
This was in incredible F1 season, so exciting!!!
Subscribed off the strength of the commentary. Good race!
Wow, thanks so much Andrew. It’s the most challenging part of the editing process for me so I really appreciate the encouragement.

Glad we found each other Bill! Hope you enjoy the little obscure karting world, it's great fun.

THANK YOU..MERRY CHRISTMAS/HAPPY NEW YEARS.CAN'T WAIT TO SEE MORE KARTING..STAY WELL
Thank you Triple R, same to you!
What a killer video. I can’t believe how icy it looked at the start!

Looks like a ton of fun and I enjoy our commentary though the race.

Wouldn't you put slightly less pressure in tyre's when cold for bigger footprint and little more flex in tyre to produce more heat.
Thanks, now im addicted to your channel and karting 😅
Great content man! Love the editing style! Keep up the great work! Definitely earned a new sub today
Thanks so much for the encouragement Garrett. I appreciate you watching/commenting and the sub!
That crash was wild, definitely was worried we might see some injuries but I’m glad there was only some bent metal and hurt feelings.
I'm glad you didn't get taken out on the straightaway by the runaway kart!
Glad i made the thumbnail LOL
Great video! Keep the good work!
Thank you Rodolfo.
Hey I was thinking about getting a 100 soon do you have any tips transferring from a rental to a 100

Whatever you purchase, make sure you have local support in engine and chassis brand
Woah number 47 whole nose comb came off good to know they had no major injuries
Yeah I hate seeing karts damaged because that's $$$ and everyone pays for their own damage regardless of who did what.

Cool video’s. If you don’t mind me asking, what is a round figure to get going in karting in the class your running?
Roughly $4-$6k for a used kart ready to go.
just starting to look at cart racing. was a road racer on motorcycles. wondering do you guys have tire warmers?
#4 kart has ZERO control. First corner incident AND on the straight jesus christ.
His name is Ronnie. He’s a great guy but when I see him on track I know to stay the hell away
Nice video and edition!!! Thanks
Very good again. Thanks. Keep up the good racing and the good videos.
Thank you Nigel!
My man spun out on the warm up lap. Lol
Yes, it was deceptively slick out there. I spun out on my first out lap of the day just warming up and I was being careful.
Thanks for another awesome, video !!! :)
Great video !
Serous carnage lol. I hope everyone was not hurt! You’re arching into the corners real nice. Even with cold track and tires, how were your lap times?
The lap times were about .2 slower than last month for me.

Feed back about levanto’s tyres ?

Yeah I think it contributed to it some.
Hey man how much do these karts cost?
I love Jackson Aills
como q o cara conseguiu rodar sozinho ali no começo?
I just got a lo206, Im so excited!
Awesome! You're gonna love it!
The guy in the second perspective looks like he forgot there was a corner there
Are tire warmers allowed in Karting ?
when will the next one be posted
They should have reset the race a bit after the crash
Illegal racing is so cool to watch
I agree! 😎
Great fun!
Can a newbie skip a lo206 to a 100? I'm pretty good in indoor electric karts.
Yes you can make the leap.
that david bloke legit drove the kart straight in the wall all by him self ahahaha fuck mee, stick to circles boys

Yeah David is a great guy. He’s still new to karting and is just getting started and learning like we all do. I’m glad he’s part of the class.
How much does a kart cost ?
Depends for a whole 206 setup abt $6000
Thx !
