In my opinion, Sabonis is the greatest center ever!! Even though he didn't play NBA in his prime physical years! And he remains the biggest "what if" until nowadays...
Besides Wilt Chamberlain he easily is. I seen this guy play internationally. He was a huge problem for us. I've been preaching this guy for years. Too many young kids just won't listen
Fr, he's like the prototype of modern bigs. Can body up Shaq even with a busted knee, can shoot three, can dribble really well, has the finesse like Jokic but more agile, can pass better than Jokic. On top of that, he plays defense.
Unfortunately we will never know if he was among the best centers couse of his injuries that stalled his progress in the game. How ever his devotion for 20 years dew his continuous injuries is remarkable.
Sabonis was the most successful individual defender against Shaq. The Pistons as a team could beat Shaq, but Sabonis was the original prototype for players like Jokic.
Sabonis was a spectacular player. A complete central: excellent vision of the game, skillful, had strength and positioned himself very intelligently in the paint. After Shaq and Hakeem he was the best centre-back I've ever seen play!
@@demblik Everyone has their own opinion and you need to respect it. I've always been a fan of Sabonis, but Hakeem and Shaquille were more dominant when they were at the peak of their careers!
@@hiltonslapSure thing, but Shaq dominates every opponent except for a bogged down 30 plus year old Sabonis. Would've been better than both Hakeem and Shaq if he was allowed to play during the mid to late 80's when he was drafted.
@@TripleRS2024 Yes, I agree. If Sabonis had arrived in the NBA in the late 80s, it would have been fantastic because he would have been playing at his peak and Shaq and Hakeen would have had more difficulty scoring against him.

Oscar, Petrovic, Sabonis, kukoc were at the same level like the best nba players

don’t waste your time on kids whose basketball scope comprises “before-during-after Kobe”…

If Sabonis was 6'4" - he could have still been in the NBA; Shaq - would be packing groceries.
Idiotic logic

Uno de los pocos jugadores que intimido a Saq en la pintura.
Speed record of life. And why truck driver went to 3rd lane?!
Made Shaq look tiny lol
Sin las lesiones, Sabonis hubiera sido quizá el mejor center de la historia.
Sabonis was able to neutralize the Shaq attack.
A Sabonis > Jokic
But jokic much better...

lol at these "highlights"
sabonis giocava in NBA con una sola gamba... se le avesse avute entrambe non ci sarebbe stato niente per nessuno!!
