Thank you Cindy ! I pulled out an unfinished rug that I hadn’t worked on for 2 years and I strongly disliked it but couldn’t understand why, but now I realize the values are all the same. I also like your suggestion of laying out the wool together instead of hooking and ripping out. So much to learn but all fun !

On your texture samples do you hook fabric cut both ways?

Only if the wool is a stripe or a plaid that is different if cut both ways. Stripes I prefer to cut with the stripe rather than across. Stripes cut across the stripes tends to bend down into more of a solid. I like to be able to see the different colors.
