Uh man thank you guys so much . I wanted to purchase this Emira but was offended and put off with the inability to open the front. Now that issue is resolved . Now I get to reconsider my owning another Lotus . Again, thank you .
I drove both the V6 manual and the AMG 2.0 auto/DCT. Both were excellent, but I preferred the low down punch torque of the 2.0. Nice to compare to my 718 2.5 GaymanS with a manual.
Great video, very useful! I was interested very much about the Emira, but the fact that many owners are complaining about a rattling noise that comes from the manual gearbox mechanism,(and official Lotus does not offer a solution to that issue yet..) made me less enthusiastic about this car. Anyways except from that issue it's a very unique car, great to drive.
Great video - super useful, many thanks. I am toying with an ECU upgrade on mine - would be great to see how easy it is to access it, or whether it is best left to the professionals. Keep up the great work!
That fog lamp switch may be due to the EU requirement for a rear fog lamp. While I don't think they mandate front fog lamps, they do mandate at least one red rear "fog lamp" that looks like a bright brake light. Usually in the lower middle or near your normal tail lights. Often EU cars have a single reverse light on one taillight and on the other tail light it's the rear fog light. Over there, they will ticket you if you fail to use it when foggy. And will ticket you if you are using it when it's not foggy. I had to pay 50 Euros because of this one time.
fyi - the banner on the thumbnail is referring to Porsche tuning from another one of your videos. Clicked on it to see how exactly that would apply to a Lotus...
Curious if the fog light switch could just be because the stalk is sourced from Volvo; could be that it has no function on the Lotus but does have function on certain Volvo models.
got my Emira, and after a couple of months I realize that the wiper fluids isn't working. In fact, I don't even hear the motor dispensing wiper fluids, and the wiper fluid is filled up. Any tips on that? I would love to take it back to the dealer, but I got my Emira out of state.
@@HelpMeDIY I was sold this car with a document saying that it's sold as a "used car" so it alleviates dealer of any warranty. However, manufacturer warranty still applies. Don't know if that's common practice, but that's Lotus of Naples in FL.
The fog lamp does change the light on the front headlight. Your running daylight changes when pressed. Press it during the morning when your headlights are not on.
@HelpMeDIY , was your Emira's headlight set on Auto? I don't know if that makes a difference. I have mine at Auto. I just checked it again when I was parked. Yes, the light does change when the button is pressed. From those arrow looking lights into 1 beam.
A minor annoyance re: lighting. My dash display always shows the green "headlight" symbol, even when just the daytime running lights are on. Again, I wish there was a fog lamp indicator on the display as you have no way of knowing if they're on or not!

+@shanefanon glad to help!🍻

Would be great to have the 2.0 in manual also… man can dream! But just to clarify that I also enjoyed the V6 thoroughly! ❤
+@jazzragu so how is the comparison with the Cayman?

+@an_kan glad you liked it! 🍻
Very helpful. Thanks!
+@ms8742 😎🍻
I believe and I could be wrong but the fog lamp is only on European models and it's rear lamps
+@bradjoseph608 that would make sense
Yeah...the owner's manual says fog lamps are fitted to the NA market.

+@Steveawm430 appreciate it! 🍻
besides the fog lamps, there are no proximity sensors on the side mirrors. do you?

+@NephosPais wow! Very interesting 🤔

+@edwardnilges1675 ah crap. I’ll fix that. Thanks!
Like the Lotus Emira and that switch for the fog lamps may be a prewire for them. You'll need to see if the fog lamps are an optional feature.
+@warrenlucier5796 could be
I use the rear view mirror USB for my Garmin 66W. I don’t care for the angle of the view though.

+@garyhale6371 I think someone else was wondering if that might be the case too

+@samgao I don’t, sorry. But are you saying that your warranty isn’t good at any dealer?

Think Howard will let you put it up on the lift?
+@edwardmigliore6484 It was up there! More videos to come 😎🍻
One thing people dont know on the manual, you can start the car without pressing on the clutch
+@kyalwaysnever good to know, and possible content for another follow up video 🍻
This seems like dangerous information if I'm being honest.

+@ErickSturtevant-ef8jt We tried it in my brightly lit garage and saw no change 🤷♂️
I'll try to video or take a picture when I get a chance. The headlights turn from those 2 lights to just 1 beam.

6:13, old fashion oil dipstick. How many European sports cars in 2024 still do this?
+@AthenaSaints not many!
