In 1975, my friend and I took 5 little kids, between the ages of 6 and 9 to the movies to see this film. They didn't move out of their seats....I've never seen these kids so bewitched by anything before...didn't ask to go to the WC, didn't ask for popcorn or a soda....They were entranced. This is still one of MY favorite films....it's really not just for children. I have used the book in my university English courses....

I can see why this was nominated for best original score in 1974 at the 47th Oscars.

There needs to be a stage musical of this film version someday or soon, but with more elements from the novel that were left out to make the story a little more faithful dialogue, and scenes, and more musical numbers originally created for the stage or deleted from the movie made by Lerner and Loewe and inspired by others rightfully chosen to replicate the music of Lerner and Loewe. That would be very great tribute for both the author of The Little Prince; Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, and the composer and lyricist of the 1974 movie Lerner and Loewe.

They did do a stage musical recently, but it wasn’t the Lerner/Lowe score. God, if I were talented, I would put so many ideas forth for this musical to be put on stage. I would literally die if I could hear this score in an actual theater. It’s not their best, but it’s still beautiful in its own right.

Been saying that for years. But please, no new songs unless they were deleted from the film. NOBODY can 'replicate' Lerner and Loewe!
