Thank you for posting these stories! Love these initial outbreak stories. I think it would also be cool to see the outbreak from the perspective of someone from another state where maybe they just see news reports or social media at first. Before ultimately their state or city becomes overrun. All of your hard work on these stories is greatly appreciated!
Even with the chat robot- l enjoy all of these. As soon as one hits my inbox- l pause whatever other audio book l am listening to. You bring a smile whenever you pop up (especially on Saturdays!)
I do to. Listen every Saturday while I’m working in the yard or in my garden, and while I do like the human narration better, I definitely understand why putting out 2 hrs every week would be difficult and costly relying solely on human narration.
The reason I don't like the AI voice bot is because I've been listening to the Dead America series since the very beginning and I've been spoiled. I had gotten used to a human narrator. With that stated, I'm still here because the stories are dope. I'm not a fair weather fan but it's getting difficult with this robo voice shit... NGL.
Great story! a really good entry into a fabulous series. It speaks volumes for the girl who spent her last few moments of life warning her useless drunken sister. Despite the terrible ending she was facing, some of her final thoughts were to try and save people she loved. I really enjoy these stories and the idea behind them is terrific. In just about any zombie story, we---the audience----are getting only a single point of view, the struggle of the one protagonist or their group. I had often wondered about all the individual stories going on in the background of such movies and stories. I had always wondered about all the individual stories from all the people, in all different walks of life, dealing with the zombie plague. And now here comes this series, that caters to exactly that! We see all different kinds of people dealing with the zombie plague in its first few hours. What would it be like, to be going about your usual life, your regular routines, and suddenly, within seconds, you are faced with the end of the world? These stories are about just that! I highly recommend this entire series to everyone!
hi derek, another good one brother, ive seen some poeple not happy with the AI narrator,it sounds good to me, thanks again for the stories, they make my week mate, cheers
Mr Derek What are your thoughts on supporting other writers that are trying to do a similar thing that your doing I have to admit that I've found another zombie writer that is writing and narrating and just trying to get a thousand subscribers or is going to have to pack it in Totally different angle from your good works Cheers Karl
I've always enjoyed listening to these stories since the very beginning. But I do so miss hearing actual humans do the reading. It's just harder for me to become immersed in the story with the AI reading the way it does.
@@DerekSlatonHorrorAuthor I fully understand and have always enjoyed the quality of your stories. Just an AI reading is the zombie we have to deal with in order to get the stories so often.
I really love listening to your stories! Curious question - but can I draw fanart of scenarios from some of your audiobooks? I draw in webtoon style, but this is so hard to pass up. The images in my head from listening to these were always so vivid.
Thank you! I have a lot of my earlier stories on here that are human narrated. but once i got through my backlog I was left with a choice. stick with human narration and be able to put out a single story every 3-4 months. or switch over to AI and put out a story a week. I went with the AI
Thank you! Yeah the AI is a little lacking in spots, but it allows me to do a story a week instead of a story every 3-4 months. Glad you enjoyed the story tho!

Have you seen the low country or Texas stories?
@@Jon-oi3me I’ve seen a few of Texas stories I believe. I don’t think I’ve seen Low country though.

Agreed. But I save it for work 😊

AI is not usually appreciated but Derek's stories more than counter any problem with AI, besides the AI Derek uses isn't so bad
Another awesome story. You the man Derek!!! Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you again. Keep them coming plz
You bet! Working on the Two part extended Portland stories right now!
Derek you are the best, I was hoping you’d do a New York boat story and here we are 🙏
Thanks for listening!
Thanks again for another good upload, Derek!😎
And I feed the algorithm 😊
Awesome, thank you!
Yes: the AI narrator is doing a decent job. The stories are awesome
I live here
All right people if this is the zombie apocalypse in your first thought, is I need coffee you’re not gonna make it
I really enjoyed that one. Can't wait for jinx though 😊 amazing as always Derek
Thank you Derek!!!
My pleasure!
Thanks ..great stories!
Thanks for listening!
Next chapter:
“the flotilla”
He reads like a dead person... Without any feeling at all...😂😂😂😂😂
What better character to narrate a zombie book.
Just imagine zombies reading books to each other in 100 years because they are bored. 😂

I don’t know how the story is going to make it past 10 minutes. If you’re hung over, you’re not surviving. 9:33

I understand completely. It's just the nature of the beast unfortunately. It's either AI and weekly stories. Or human and a story every 3-4 months.

Absolutely! I'd love to see what you come up with!
Thanks for another great story. The AI narrative doesn't really bother me
Thank you so much! and believe it or not, the AI is getting significantly better. this time next year and nobody will be able to tell the difference.
Yeah! Show Long Island some love! Smithtown here! I know Freeport well
As always absolute quality 👌 👏 🙌
Thank you so much!
Even in the zombie apocalypse cyclists still manage to cause car accidents
hahaha yep!
a good meal ahead, rain outside and an undoubted good story to listen to. *Sigh's.
Hope you enjoy and hope you are doing well neil!
Derek you can incorporate the next part of the story into the US Navy rescue mission of that one fleet that got recalled that I was telling you about
I have some Navy stuff on my list soon once I take another break from the main series!
Yay!!
Are we going to see more of the maniacs?👀
Yes they will be back. I had too much fun writing them to not have them back
I really like these books thank you
You are so welcome! thanks for listening!
Yippee!
I loved it so much ty !

just started, and gotta say from the get go, bad night to be drunk lol.
Jessssss!!!!! Zombies🤩🇧🇻
Awesome.
The one thing that keeps this zombie world going...coffee!
Also it looks like just like portland, new york will have its own 2nd artificial island.
Coffee Makes the world go around. Speaking of, I need another cup, haha
Retractable metal baton
Great stories but the narration is so flat
Thank you! Yeah the AI is a little lacking in spots, but it allows me to do a story a week instead of a story every 3-4 months. Glad you enjoyed the story tho!
Derek, wish you’d go back to original narration. The AI chatbot narrator really takes away from the story.
I have to stick with AI, because if i go human I'd only be able to do.one story every 3-4 months.
I’m sure it’s cheaper to use the AI narration, but PJ Morgan was great. Just my .02.
@@DerekSlatonHorrorAuthorI understand. Still enjoy the stories, and appreciate all the work you put into this.
