- In January, David Bennett made history becoming the first human ever to have a heart of a genetically modified pig transplanted in their body. The University of Maryland Medical Center, where he had the procedure, has announced that he has died two months after the experiment. No official cause of death has been revealed, but doctors say he began deteriorating several days before dying. Inside Edition Digital has more.
Sad how old and frail he looked in the video compared to how he looked in the family photo. At only 57, I wonder what type of heart disease he had and how it came about. Condolences to his family and friends.

In 2016 my dad was diagnosed with stage II colon cancer and he was only 54 at the time. Fortunately, he later went into remission but I remember my brother texting me that news when it first happened and my stomach churning.

57 with an extreme heart disease surviving for months with a pig's heart is already impressive enough, for those people thinking that the pig's heart wasn't even helpful/impressive that he lived in such a short life. This is such a huge feat in history, think about this if this man doesn't have an "extreme" heart disease but instead a "mild" heart disease yet he agreed for a pig's heart transplant he'll live longer than that. If this man's heart didn't deteriorate but he still has this extreme heart disease he wouldn't live long either with the human heart, thankfully for this research and the family agreeing for this research this have been helpful for humanity. It might be disgusting or pity the poor pig's life that s/he was chosen to be the heart donator, you might be a vegan or something but no worrys! i'll eat the rest of the pig so there wouldn't be any waste ;)
You sound like a little kid
@@nyankanakitty it's impressive because this kind of feat normally wouldn't even be considered possible to begin with.
