I think something awesome to do would be to interview or have a sit down with one of those scouts that these importers send across the world to find leads on new kits/guns to import
One of my friends who is an AK fanatic like me bought a WBP Fox earlier import, I too was a little skeptical, he talked me in to picking up a Jack and the rifle has probably the nicest fit & finish I’ve seen. One of my close relatives was looking in to getting an AK “pistol” and I suggested the Mini Jack, it is very nice, perfect fit and finish, very accurate. Everyone who has handled a WBP seems to become a believer lol. The Beryls are probably the highest quality imports available right now honestly, I think a lot of people will look back and regret not picking one up in 5.56, 7.62x39, and a mini. I missed out on the KP9 and KR104. I do plan on trying to locate at least a KP9 in the near future if possible

My Bulgarian AKS-74 parts kit has the double-rivet bullet guide and Tula forge code on the trunnion. What is also interesting is that the area where the serial number is located was shaved down before being marked with the Bulgarian circle 10, date code, and serial number.
Looking at the Bulgarian RPK74 kits we got in some years back, I'd bet anything those parts were originally made by Molot. Perhaps the wood furniture could have ben Bulgie but some kits came with plum polymer stuff, and that was definitely made in Russia.

What's your favorite ak or sks sling, canvas vs leather, or metal clips vs leather tabs? Maybe the pros and cons of each? I don't know what channel that would fall under, but still an interesting and rather entertaining topic for another episode.
It goes to show how costly a decent quality AK is to produce if you don't have a huge state owned factory like the ones in Russia. Any nation that has CNC machines. It would be cheaper to produce something based off the AR15 or a modernised AR18. Many friendly nations are moving away from AKs and especially standard AKMs I feel for most nations that don't have huge factory's AR15 type rifles or modular rifles are cheaper to produce with less man hours. Quite a few governments have purchased select fire AR15 type rifles that can take AK mags as they want to be able to use optics. Lights , lasers with their existing stockpile of ammunition. It would be really cool if a company like recreator made some parts so you could take a standard AKM WBP or Romanian kit and then have them make or modify the existing parts so it's more of rare clone build with engravings and markings on the receiver. While it would never be the real deal aslong as most of the main parts like the front and real reunion, bolt, bolt carrier, barrel and such is imported it would still be great. I was happy that PSA made a Chinese spiked as I had a slant back mak90 that was not threaded, I managed to buy some parts from PSA to do the front end conversion to a spiker, get a Chinese receiver with Chinese markings and some surplus parts, I did not get the barrel threaded as the PLA T56 rifles don't have threaded barrels. But it was nice that I was able to get all the parts to make it look like the real deal while the main componants of the rifle where still Chinese. I have quite a few kits left, some of the Romanian virgin kits I have as I already own quite a few Romanian rifles I have been playing with the idea of building, modifying and getting them engraved as "what if guns" for example having a Crystanantum on the front sight block, the Tokyo arsenal stamp on the trunion, 7.7mm short as the caliber designation, Type 35 as thebrifoe designation, maybe modifyig an existing bayonette so its more of one like an Arisaka and maybe even modifying the stock and front handguards. You could do it for any nation. I feel lucky I have a nice example of a matching east German with the original barrel, I could never hope to get a North Korean. It would be nice if FB or cugir imported barrels that you could profile. Recreator once sold a fully assembled virgin Romanian AK without any of the FCG holes drilled as an 80% and no FCG... If they did class front trunions as the receiver then a company like WBP could import the parts kits and build them then export them as sporters with an unthreaded barrel, and welds on the bayo lugs to be milled off with the furniture and FCG sent separately. I've allways felt AKs are so fun to shoot, they are modern but they still have the 1940s wood and steel vibe with alot of character and what used to be very cheap ammunition 7.62 has the same power as .30 30 but was 20c a round not long ago, 7N6 out of a 74 barrel has more power than most 5.56 out of a 14.5" - 16" and was under 8c a round in bulk, 54r a full powered rifle round used to be cheaper than 9mm. But at the moment I don't want to waste any 7N6 as it's so valuable and it will probably never come back. I think Vietnam could export if they wanted to as the US sells weapons to them and they make good AKs, Bangladesh also makes Type 81s Norinco sold most of its type 56 machining to African nations so no idea but I wonder if Albania can still produce.

The wasr-10 are solid, and after-market parts are affordable and available. I got mine for 700, even tho I live in California. I will swap out the stock and get a Magpul, the handrail, and the amount. Some folks like and dislike PSA. But I have many more positive reviews on their GF Gen 5 ak. I don't have one, but I heard you can use many after-market parts. The m70 is another excellent choice. It might be tricky depending on what parts you are trying to get, but you can mostly get most of the parts. I have the m90, and the m90, m70, and other guns all use similar accessories. So far, I have bought a mount for it, and the price was decent. I have the Beryl in 5.56, and the gun is a fantastic shooter, but the accessories can only be swapped with Polish parts. My dam mount cost 150! If you want to swap and update the parts, it will cost you an arm and a leg compared to a wars-10 and other guns. I don't have a Jack or a Fox, but I know they only take Polish parts, so the after-market parts for the Polish guns and Zavsta firearms are limited to their markets.
