There's something about seeing an affordable car being built up by the owner. I'd say it's kind of more realistic / relatable compared to the well off individuals in their £30k plus cars
@@DuBstep115 I mean, budget wise this is way cheaper. You can find these things with good engines and bodies for like 1-3k(much less for a rolling chassis like these guys did), throw some money into the engine and you got a fun rwd build. But yeah, new engine bearings even done by a professional aren't much and a lot cheaper in your driveway. No custom driveline, transmission from a 350z same with the driveshaft. all these parts are off the shelf or scrap yard finds so i'd bet this thing is under 10k(i'd guess closer to 5 but it saves face when I'm wrong by going over. :D).
@@0xsergy building a 700hp supercar killer from scratch is cheaper than 35k hot hatch, but I don't see many of them around. So 35k hatchback is more realistic.
@@DuBstep115 well yeah, obviously it's easier to just go buy something with credit so yeah obviously you'll see more of a production car on the road than a customized LS400. But at the end of the day you'll have toyota reliability, not those Focus 31k kms and the block is cracked from vibrations reliability. So far those RS' haven't really proven themselves long term so no, not realistic in my books as i'm not spending 35k on a money pit.
Being a welder by trade myself I am loving this build hats off to the pair of them one of the best builds I have seen in the UK love how they havent done anything that is not necessary top blokes

@Richard Harrold I've had the3.5v6 shogun swb & 3.0 v6 shogun sport and they was fairly quick for what they are NA too. Think if you boosted one you'd get loads of problems down the line. I also love the older sorta early 90s shoguns with the 2.8td engine its like an old tractor but torquey as frig.
Agreed but it will still be a beast in 100-200 times and If he changed his tyres for some fresh 8 inch wide ps4's i recon hed be low 4's easy, those tyres had no chance.
Just had to check the reg to be sure, and it’s the same I’ve seen recently at Teesside Karting on a open practice drift day. Awesome talking to the owner, a super sound guy. I remember that even being inside the car with a helmet on the backfire that comes from it is ridiculous! Anyway, If the owners sees this comment, thanks for taking me out on track in it, and I hope to see you again soon man! 🤙🙌
What a dope car. I have a gen 1 LS myself, the engineering and quality is just as good as one would expect. Only things done to it apart from oil changes and filter changes is a couple months ago I had to replace a couple of center console light bulbs. The car is superb in its standard form in all aspects except parking in small parking lots. These guys made it even more awesome, big respect for making this car!
LS400, my first car ever. Crazy torque and the launch is insane with that stock V8 na. This build is simply mind blowing. Also man, love your expressions and the passion within you. Subbed. Keep up the excellent work!!
Price of 1UZ's just doubled on Ebay after Jamie dropped this vid.😝 Awesome father son! Dad's a legend. Would love seeing a 400 done like this with full interior left in. Definitely surprise more than a few modern sport cars on the street.
Awesome story and awesome car. That kid will be doing some serious stuff as he gets older. Great build team what a great father to have. My first car was totaled and me and my day rebuilt it and I have been working on cars professionally for 30 years. I spent about 5 years in NASCAR building engines and had my shop on the side at first.
I got my 92 ls400 for 300 dollars I put $600 when I first got it just suspension, brakes , timing belt, water pump, rack and pinion and power steering pump, it had 310,000 miles I put 100,000 so far and has not skipped a beat!!!
Love these, and almost bought one. Still love them like crazy. Instead, I bought an SC400 with the same engine, and the MKIV Supra's chassis. No regrets.
No E Honda, that really fast punch he does when you repeatedly press the punch button! Keep going for a few seconds until it stops, then jump round the other side and do the same again, quickest way of destroying it 😜😂
