One time with Sierra driving the dingy and there will be a padded seat added to the storage locker. Nicely put together little tender, I see many adventures in it's future.
Billy, consider leaving all that aluminum bare if you can't get it anodized. Despite all the proper aluminum etching primers we've used, the final paint ends up bubbling and making a bigger mess in just a couple years. I've got three boat builder friends all coming to the same conclusion as we're out here living in the salt environment. We got a group discount on sandblasting all the aluminum stuff in a Mexican boatyard :)
I don’t have a Boat but I do have a sea vessel in the way of a Honwave t38ie3. Loved what you have done to your dinghy, I have done some the same but your adding of the rope grab handles is what I am going to do next on mine. Great video loved it and your tender. Much better than mine but it gets me on the water to do island hopping around Scotland where there is 1800 islands or more lol. Thanks for sharing Ray K UK 🇬🇧 YNWA.
👍👌👏 Looks like a really great dinghy. With all the modifications/improvements it's even more versatile! Congrats that you got it sponsored, otherwise this thing is pretty expensive I guess. Best regards, luck and especially health to all 3 of you.
Hey Tula Crew! I started watching your channel for the Corsair videos and have enjoyed following your continuing adventures. I appreciate your technical knowledge of boat construction and systems! As a US Coast Guard Auxiliary Vessel Examiner, I've had concerns at times about whether you're in full compliance with US Coast Guard safety regulations. For example, SUPs are considered vessels, which means you're required to have a PDF and sound producing device on board. The dinghy is also required to have a sound producing device on board. Though it's possible I missed it, I never spotted a throwable PDF on board the Corsair or PA 540 even though one is required to be immediately available on a sailing or motor vessel at least 16' in length. A wearable PFD for each person on board needs to be readily accessible and not stored in a compartment. That also applies on the dinghy. And PFD requirements apply anytime a vessel is in use and not just underway. A fire extinguisher needs to be readily accessible if a vessel has a closed compartment under thwarts and seats wherein portable fuel tanks may be stored, a double bottom not sealed to the hull or not completely filled with flotation material, or closed stowage compartments in which combustible or flammable materials are stowed. Your dinghy appears to have the first two and potentially the third. In your previous video, I see you upgraded your navigation light bulbs to LED. If you haven't already, I'd encourage you to make sure they match the visibility arc and range requirements specified in the Nav Rules. This is a common issue when upgrading bulbs. A local USCG Auxiliary Vessel Examiner could provide you with a free Vessel Safety Check (VSC) to go over all requirements with you (though verifying visibility arc and range is beyond the scope of a VSC). If you pass, you’ll receive a decal for each vessel and may qualify for a discount on your insurance. If you're interested, you can request one at cgaux.org/vsc. That would make a great video! And thanks for setting an example by visibly using the ECOS lanyard on the dinghy! Many people still aren't aware that ECOS lanyard use has been required since April 2021 when on plane in recreational vessels under 26'.
I bought an inflatable dingy 13’ long. Have not unboxed it as I need to buy a motor. Disabled and limited income… that will come later… (hope not much later). It’s cold here now, so no rush. But would be nice to have come Spring but we will see. I bought it as it is more easily moveable with different vehicles. Plus I love fishing. (Have not fished in 37yrs! We have nice large lake (Clark Hill Reservoir) or lake Thurmond they now call it I think. Grew up fishing on it. I want to take it to many lakes in USA. But we will see. Good video! Alton.
Billy, would like to have seen a labeled photo of the dingy layout after you completed, the whole installation... did enjoy the presentation though... John, Ontario Canada....
hi, just a small remark on the fasteners... i would recommend using some aluminium pop rivets wherever possible to fasten alloy to alloy... btw very cool tender, good choice!
Welcome to Anacortes!! That marina you're at for the test run is a regular stop for us when we head North from Seattle for a trip to the San Juans or further into Canada. I love that storage box and arch. What GREAT additions to a tender.
I'm digging the new "wheels" you gonna put wheels on it to make it easier to pull ashore when needed?? I love the mods you did nessicary an brilliant!! Mountain Must looks stellar your both an amazing team an teachers!! Thanks for sharing your lives with us grateful for the opportunity to learn 🎄✌🏼💗😊
I have a Highfield CL360 and would love to see detailed info on the bench seat you built in. Any way to see your plan drawings and very interested in how you attached it to the floor.
In short, yes it is absolutely possible but it depends on how much gear and how much the people weigh. If you have no gear and total people of 700lbs or less then yes for sure.
great video, I just upgraded to a Highfield Ultra light something i have wanted, but could afford to start off. Hands down in my opion Highfield it a league of it own. I really like your up grades..
Well done. Those mods will serve you well and I'm sure we'll be copied many times over. If there is reincarnation I want to come back as somebody half as talented as you.
Ha! I saw ticket to ride in your boat life gear list. Nice! Do you have any other board games on the boat? You probably don't have too much time for games as you are always working on the boat.
Awesome, I am looking into a fun small all rounder to use with my kids at the moment and was thinking of this exact model, more feedback on how it goes in regards to performance, rougher water handling and economy would be much appreciated. Also interested in how "beachable" it is, especially with the fuel tank up front (and assuming you put wheels on the back).
I remember you added the aftermarket adhesive rope collar at the front on the last dingy. I see this one has a traditional cleat. Do you prefer the cleat?
Highfield Boats , a best in class RIB tender manufacturer , couldn't have picked a better partner #TulasEndlessSummer to showcase the Highfield CL340 RIB . You two will definitely put it through its paces . Great mods to the tender from the get-go : Extra rope handholds Additional fuel filter Aluminum storage box Dingy arch Wear patches < -- ( courtesy from Highfield Boats)
I like the dink but I have have question for you guys. I'm thinking about floating down the Mississippi River later this year. One of the things will need is a marine VHF radio. Any suggestions as to what features I should look for. I saw one that had an automatic strobe if it got wet which seems like a nice feature. Anything else I should be looking for? Keep the good stuff coming guys.
Did this dingy stay with the boat when you sold it or will it find its way to your new catamaran? I enjoy your videos - wish they were more "real time"
There are diesel outboard engines . They are getting smaller . They could have got one that is about the size of the gas engine they have .I would have got a diesel just so I did not have to carry gasoline on my boat and so I could relax and smoke while sitting on top of a gas tank. That and only one fuel for the two boats
@@bobbates7343 thanks Bob, I have a 9hp on my tender & the smallest diesel I could find was a yanmar of 27hp & it weighed the same as a 115hp! If someone made a dinky little 5-10hp diesel that's not super expensive, I'd buy one in a heartbeat! Also I think the higher torque of a diesel will make up for a lower hp motor...

Eh?

Nice Unit
Nice machine . The arche is a fantastic idea . Id put a small light bar on it for night opps lol .
Very nice guys. Now you need the hand held depth sounder so you can check depth ahead of your boat as you come into unfamiliar anchorages.
👍👌👏 Looks like a really great dinghy. With all the modifications/improvements it's even more versatile! Congrats that you got it sponsored, otherwise this thing is pretty expensive I guess.
Best regards, luck and especially health to all 3 of you.
Great strategic planning. Very useable mods 👍👍👍.

You could put a nav light up on that bar, too. Nice, and the price was right, too!

Always enjoy hearing what you're doing!
That's a legot dingy setup and nice outboard. Aloha from Maui
Epic dude, totally done with the Maui gig. Just gave you a follow.
Like the add ons you put on the dingy
Love you guys ! You’ve done more living since having the first trawler than most people do in their lifetime. 👍😎
Are you guys in Anacortes now? I recognize the background :)
That tender looks slicker than whale snot. You gave it a lot of thought working on all the details. Congratulations and hats off to Highfield!!
Fine as frog's hair
Got a Highfield 340 with 15hp Yamaha on my Seawind 1190 Sport in Newport Beach. Sweet rides! Let me know if your in So Cal.
Looks like a perfect set-up for a couple!

Hi from Florida. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Thanks and Be Safe.

You are in a great place for dinghy trials. Maybe run into you guys in town.
Love the tender brilliant
Pleasure to make your acquaintance new SUB. (Sport Utility Boat)
This boat is terrific… It looks perfect for our family, but is it possible to get up on the plane with four people in it using a 20 HP engine? Cheers!
In short, yes it is absolutely possible but it depends on how much gear and how much the people weigh. If you have no gear and total people of 700lbs or less then yes for sure.
Very nicely done 👍
That SUV is so cool. I want one as well as the "house."😉
The dinghy go everywhere do anything hero
great video, I just upgraded to a Highfield Ultra light something i have wanted, but could afford to start off. Hands down in my opion Highfield it a league of it own. I really like your up grades..
Good to see you back on the water🤙/ happy holidays Tula
Nice SUV!
So how fast will that 20hp get your Highfield going?
Great looking dinghy! I may have missed it, but where did you mount the battery?
Well done. Those mods will serve you well and I'm sure we'll be copied many times over. If there is reincarnation I want to come back as somebody half as talented as you.

Welcome to winter in Anacortes...
Love y’all’s lifestyle 👍🏻
Hi
Welcome to Anacortes! Been based here for over 20 years now…
I love it! I want😊😊😊
(@3:22) Where's the: *"You're coming too!"*
Dude, that was super fun. Thanks for the post.🎉 🫡🏴☠️🍻🤙🏼🍿🧉
Hey Billy...what is the total weight of this tender with the aluminum box, motor and all the features you chose?
Awesome, I am looking into a fun small all rounder to use with my kids at the moment and was thinking of this exact model, more feedback on how it goes in regards to performance, rougher water handling and economy would be much appreciated. I have that same outboard it has been nothing but problems....😬😬😬😬

Did you watch the video? Those are the exact modifications they made 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Just curious what alloy aluminum you used?

Does that under the seat storage for the gas tank have enough or any ventilation ?
Did this dingy stay with the boat when you sold it or will it find its way to your new catamaran? I enjoy your videos - wish they were more "real time"
Billy, do you have plans for the dinky boat box? Or a place to buy one?
Marc
P. S. I'm alive aboard on the east coast.
I reckon its actually a highfield patrol 340
Looks like a patrol but no the base boat is a CL340
So we know there's still a catamaran coming. :)
👍
Would you say that you were going a bit dingy? (Nautical humor)
How fast is the dinghy?
Great video!....where did you tested it? Pacific NW?
That marina he left from is the Port of Anacortes in the PNW
I'm surprised the tender company didn't go electric!... or will you be adding an electric outboard!
Pure watercraft in Seattle is using these boats and rigging electric
Didn't they used to have an electric outboard??
Fun Video !!! :)
What size outboard is that?
20hp
Nice 😊🍻🥂
Very nice tender, but also looks very expensive...
Wouldn't it be nice if someone made a tiny little diesel outboard for dinghies so we would have to carry two different types of fuel on board?
Diesel outboards do exist, but my quick search learn that they are expensive with a capital E.
Kind regards, Christiaan

LOL the “gritty kitty” is taken. 🤙🏼🍻🫡🏴☠️

Do you name your dingy? Mine is called Vera. (Alice/Mel's Diner reference)
I had a tender once. I called it Chicken.
♥️♥️🥰🥰
Not sure about drilling into structural components
👌
I kike it! I'm curious what the range is with that fuel tank.
