  • Quick review of a Lifan KPV150. More than 4000 miles, most, not so easy. This scooter has held up well.. really, my only complaint is the terrible speedometer/odometer calibration.. 10.1 miles on the odometer is actually 8.71 on GPS.
    First time video editor.. apologies for the transitions!

    Good deal compared to the ADV. Sounds like a solid bike. Even though you can’t fit your helmet under the seat, you have two security pegs at the front of the seat where you can fit the D-ring of your helmet strap to lock and secure it.

    Thanks for the video. Please put more info and tell us what kind of issues you have had with it so far and a longer review would be great Because most of the reviews are in Spanish or Chinese. And do you recommend it?

      As you know, most shops do not want to work on Chinese bikes so a lot of work is done by owner. American Lifan will not provide information or shop manual link for the KPV, telling me that information is 'dealer only'. I'll figure out the wheel removal for tire replacement but I DO NOT / CANNOT recommend Lifan products at this point.

    I just changed mine a bit. New exhaust, top case, turn signals and hand guards. Loving my KPV

      Where did you find a rear rack? I'll be ordering one from aliexpress as i cant find one anywhere else.

      @@donp1616 AliExpress. I got the black one, kind of wish I would have got the silver one that matches the factory grab bars. But is what it is. You have to drill the hole into the bike for the support which you have to do no matter which bracket you get.

    Thanks for making this video. Is your KPV 150 still going strong? Have you had any mechanical issues? Was thinking about getting one. Thanks!

      Hello, Still have the KPV and it's still running well. Currently at a little over 7k miles, which translates into just over 5800 actual miles. No mechanical issues yet.. tires are showing wear.

    I got the same scoot. Same color too. Currently has 150 miles on the odo. How was the valve clearance adjustment? Was it hard to do on the KPV 150?

    • @donp1616

      It was an adventure. The first time it took me several hours just deciding what panels to remove and how they came off. After that its a couple hours if I work methodically but I take my time on most things.

    How reliable would you consider this bike? Would you trust on a long haul trip?

    • @donp1616
      @donp1616  9 месяцев назад +1

      Chris, I currently have 6400 miles on the odometer which translates into just over 5500 actual miles. Reliability has been no issue.. I have done two valve adjustments (which is normal maintenence) and run through a lot of tanks of gas. Only negative issue (other that Lifan America providing no factory support, only dealer) is a dismally inaccurate speedometer/odometer and what looks like a fuel level sender going bad (will no longer register full fuel on the gauge).

      Ive had no issues with mine. My biggest frustration is that the speedo and odo are fast by about 16%. I have about 7200 miles on mine (which is actually a little over 6200).

    Can you review lifan kpv 150 racing edition (KPV RACE (LF150T-8C))

    • @donp1616
      @donp1616  9 месяцев назад

      We only get one version of the KPV in the US.. I'm not familiar with any racing edition. Southeast Asia gets a few different versions and the one that is blue and yellow on a white base is the Queens version I think. This scoot has a 150 cc engine with exactly the same bore/stroke as the Honda ADV150 though it produces less horsepower.. the Lifan has 12.1 and the Honda has over 14. So far, handles well, gets about 85 mpg, does about 61 mph and starts every time I want to go riding.

    Hi, i just got this bike. do you why my fuel gauge keeps flashing while my tank is full? also can this bike be ridden with 2 people 450 lbs?

    • @donp1616
      @donp1616  4 месяца назад +1

      No.. my gas gauge never flashes when full, only when i get down to the last bar of fuel. My top segment, however, stopped working so I just have the 4 bars. I've ridden two up, just back of 400lbs for short distance ( half a mile or so) but i not sure of the weight capacity.
