I get psychogenic shivers with nearly every Band-Maid song. It’s like a music-drug they fiendishly inject into their music to keep you addicted… in a good way, of course. The first couple that come to mind at this moment are: Matchless Gum - the classical-like passage with that hunting chorus pedal and low bass effect just after the solo - especially the last two chords with the counter bass notes. It’s chilling; and second, the way Saiki soulfully attacks the first word “ I “ in the last lines of the official Choose Me MV, “I cannot wait forever…” combined with the raw, tribal drum and funky bass pulls. Pure rock phrasing. She only does it in the official MV. Thx, Sofi!
3:48 Yep, that rabbit statue is at Izumo shrine where Miku visited on Japan In Motion. 4:21 The guy in the middle is Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick. Akane tweeted after this meeting that he was a very cool gentleman.
Hi Sofi, it's good to see you again. These PnD collages are awesome. The seldom heard song, "Matchless Gum" is still a great song. By the way, Saiki isn't that tall. The stiletto heels she wears gives her an extra 4- 5 inches of height. MISA is the tallest at 5'6", but she's always barefooted. Akane is the next tallest at 5'4". Saiki's next and then Kanami and, of course, Miku is the shortest. She also wears those high heels to make her appear taller. What really puzzles me is how Miku can jump high in the air with both feet, kick her legs up behind her, and then stick the landing in those high heels.
This is one of my favorites and it's an underappreciated gem. There's a lot of passion in Sai-chan's singing and that solo by Mincho is also one of my favorites of hers. She is just so damn good here! The slide show by PinD is awesome as always. Thank you Princess Sofi for your always fun reactions and your love and appreciation of this amazing band! Kuruppo!

Another B side gem from the Yolo single 2016. I love Mincho's guitar solo's from this period- just so random and unpredictable. Sorry, don't like the background tinkling of the ivories. Distracting from you commentary.

Miku's pigeon hop is impressive for both height and for sticking the landing, she could have been in the Olympics for gymnastics.

It's not that MISA is all that tall, at 5'7", it's that none of them are very tall. Miku at 5'1" is tiny.
