I’m from Iowa and now I’m disappointed that I’ve never known this! Hopefully I can go back and ride it one day before they remove it…

That elevator sounds like a basketball buzzer timer when it’s moving.
Indeed, it does. I was told all the insulation and sound dampening components had asbestos. It was removed in the 70's .
