- I apologize to Eric for inadvertently 'relocating' him from his (correct) home in Greenwich, NY to the (incorrect) title page listing of "Cushing, NY". Sorry, Eric........; I be excited!
My first few days with Eric Whitings custom-built LunaTrike recumbent trike have been nothing short of exciting! Not acquiring this specifically to ride affords me the luxury of pondering next-moves, so consider this first vid a brief introduction. Enjoy.
I just stumbled upon this video. What an impressive build. There are newly available materials that would make this design feasible. I hope you have gotten a lot of use out of this recumbent.
Kevin, I'm working on a trike build as we speak that will incorporate ideas inspired by Eric's trike. Public showing scheduled for the 2021 Recumbent Cycle-Con (October, Ohio). Exhibitor: BIG LEAF® Cycling Canopy.
That is a very good-looking trike got to be a very proud owner of that Ed!!! Sweet ride
It serves as a very inspiring piece of equipment. Thanks for watching.
It is indeed a work are art. Great design, a form like a panther. that seat add's to the design. Nice
Certainly a 'concept' worth study. Thanks.
Very nice trike. Great up use of the old softride stem for the seat.
Nice to see that a lot of effort was put into getting the Ackerman steering angles right. I also like the integrated seat/ mud guard moulding.Nice work.
dreaming to build one but its quite impossible here in the philippines too expensive so just satisfying myself watching videos like yours keep up the good work bro and thank you very much for uploading
Great trike. It looks awesome. Keep up the great videos
Wow Ed, nice new set of wheels. Get that puppy down to the Cove and see how she does on the hills! Looking forward to some new videos with that trike. Of course you'll have to design a nice canopy for it first.
No canopy (for now)...., the suspended rear would disrupt a consistent front-to-rear connection. Cove? Not likely, this lady is more 'downtown'! Thanks for watching.
Looking forward to seeing you riding it which ever way you go.
Very good looking trike. I would put black tiers on the front but other than that, it looks great.
Sweet! What work of art!
Thanks, Bill; that's what I think as well.
Really great!
Thanks. I thought buying this would inspire me to think outside the box. WHAT BOX?
@@LogNotching The box of the blandness, I suppose...
@@handmadepsk5945 Cookie cutters!
It's just a matter of preference but a Rolhoff or Shimano rear gear hubs is a nicer solution than a derailleur mechanism?.
Beautiful machine. Hope to see many videos of you riding. (Keep Paul away, lol. )
Paul has already ridden it (for a very short distance!). But, I didn't know I could hold my breath that long!
[snort] I was wondering how far friendship would go...
About............, 200'!
wow! that trike is sweet😆
Going to figure a way to mount one of your cool Canopies to it?
Perhaps ONLY for looks because the action of the suspended seat/rear attachment prohibits proper canopy function.
wow very nice... so.. it is a one of a kind or is he making more?
One & done! Eric is more into mountain biking, I think he'll stick with that although he had several road bikes in his stable and rides 15-miles (1-way) to work weather permitting. It's a special piece no doubt.

Hello, exciting and beautiful, I want to know where the chairs come from?
Eric made it usig a home-made mold.
Thank you for your reply dear friend.
In the modern day of recumbent trike designs. Do you know who makes one similar to this in it's high tech functions? Thx
Not really, because makers target their 'safe-design' products to the money market; built to sell!
I'd entertain involvement with an international THINK TANK of imaginative designers and builders to produce a NEW commercially available recumbent trike. Emphasis on....., NEW! However, I am actively pursuing a radical concept at this moment that just might even work! Unveiling in 6-months, so keep the light on.
Thanks Ed, very cool trike. You said you might need a mold for the seat...I can do that for you. I've done quite a lot of that. Call me or email me if you feel moved! 😄
Don't need another mold besides the one Eric has. Thanks.
Ok Ed, just sounded like maybe he didn't have one from the conversation...
i like it looks cool .
