An interesting take, my friend. I am glad you also mentioned that gaming takes away the love for God. Some Christian circles may believe that video games are fundamentally unbiblical and should not be engaged in.
I personally don't do competitive gaming anymore simply because it is really easy to get caught up with the results, though I still do play for fun.
I guess it's just a matter of perspective and some may also argue that there's nothing wrong with playing games as a Christian. Perhaps it just really depends on a person's life circumstance and stuff, like if this is your job or smth idk.
But when gaming comes to mind, I guess I need to ask myself if there are other ways I can better spend my time that honours God? Or does it edify fellow believers around me? Stuff like that. I particularly like the books of Philippians and Corinthians, which talk about denying the flesh to honor God and God's people. (Php 3:7-11 and 1Cor9:27 come to mind)
I do think sometime down the line this thing will be a thing of the past for me, when I have other things/callings in life, but who knows?
