Sam, a former IU Student Legal Services client, shares about wanting to get an emotional support animal to help cope with a challenging living situation. The landlord threatened to refuse to rent to them. IUSLS advocated for Sam and worked with the landlord to help them understand that complying with federal disability law isn't optional. In the end, this sticky situation got worked out, and Sam has been enjoying the benefits of life with an adorable four-legged companion.
