@@paulr9470 Newsom has nothing to do with it. Remember when Wilson was Gov? He and the GOP in general were pushing energy de-regulation, allowing it to be traded like a commodity? Remember how ENRON then defrauded California of 20 billion in a single summer? And then folded, and the exec skipped to Singapore? Yeah, the reason electricity is so expensive these days is because of GOP deregulating utilities. Try and study actual history to understand how we got here.

Yep!! Leasing is something I was told most Solar companies were doing, that was 5 years ago when I worked for a local Solar company. The company I worked for didn't lease the equipment to you like these other solar companies do. But.. The main problem with Solar is the panels only last about 15-20 years max like Scotty said. So when you factor in the life of the panels along with the total system cost incuding installation which grand total can cost you upwards of 30 thousand, well.. Shall we say it's like a having a second mortgage payment because you are making monthly payments until the system is paid off. Yet another in a long line of scams that people blindly fall into. If you value your money then run far away from Solar and Wind turbines.
Many dealers are also starting to play this game: overprice parts, sell parts from brands that are not OEM/ but charge OEM prices. MIdas is another such culprits. There are no independent installers of parts. They all want their cut on the parts as well as high labor cost. I just had a dealer charge me $100 more than what the NAPA price is (which they installed by railroading me) for each outer tie rod End. Just the ends.
A Toyota Dealership failed to diagnose and repair a failed oil pump seal/gasket on a 1998 Land Cruiser. They replaced the front seal which wasn't leaking and used a pry bar to remove the harmonic balancer.🤦♂️
Negative prices mean that you have to pay, when you produce electricity. At least that is what it means here (Denmark). Not sure about CA. It does not happen often. But when it does, a number of my friends gets a little frantic looking for extra ways to use electricity at home, so they don't have to pay the power company to take away the surplus.

He went from $1000 a month electric bills to under $200 a month. And the power company was paying him some months..??? Maybe they do work and scotty just giving us the negative side of every story?? Great channel. The shade you cast on European engineering is not really warranted. The love you show to Asian cars is over-the-top. Much of the tech incorporated in Asian cars is borrowed from German auto engineers.
How about taking the "new" Beatles and putting an old air cooled engine in one, that would be a VW worth buying. Problem is I don't know anyone that has done that or figured out how to do that for a FWD vehicle using the RWD set up. It probably would take a lot of work and fabrication to make it work unless you switched the new Beatle to be RWD. I would pay a reasonable price for a setup combining a new Beatle with the air cooled dual carbonator engine. You could buy a crate engine new from EMPI or one of the manufacturers that make them.
With any new solar panels, it should be required that the homeowner also installs whole house storage batteries. Of my neighbors who have solar, I am an exception, only one guy has storage, and that is only good for about 8 hours to run a TV and the refrigerator. Solar is a joke. My whole house generator will run about 3 days to 1 week with my 100 gallon propane tank. I would just turn off everything non-essential. Mine will even run my air-conditioning unit. This is why I do not get solar.
My father in law's 2013 Sorento's 4 cyl. engine just sized with 80k miles. The local KIA dealer is replacing it under a recall. Apparently the 4 cyl. engines had a manufacturing defect which caused them to take a sh*t around 70-80k.
roughly 35,000 Celica's were sold in 1994 roughly 30% of those survive now 30 yrs. later and there's rumors Toyota are Reviving the Celica and MR2 as hybrid and the gas tank will be similar to the ones currently used in the Corolla and Camry which are around 13 Gallons granted a fully loaded Celica weighs 2,600 LBs while for example a Camry Solara SLE V6 from 2002 weighs 3,300 LBs mind you when the 2002 model year started in Sept 2001 the average cost of a gallon of premium Gasoline was $1.68 its now more than doubled to $3.99 and both of those sporty Toyotas require premium fuel
You will not fit electric bikes in the back of a Corolla hatchback, well maybe one. Corolla hatchbacks weren't really designed for the North American market and they're Japanese. The back seat space is smaller than a normal Corolla so even with the seats down you don't get a lot of extra room.
Does anyone know why my 2018 sierra gmc runs well when cold but after 10-20 miles I get hard bangs at a stop? Is it 1-2 gear solenoid? All gears had issue until I cleaned the mass area flow connection.
I love how Scotty is always out of focus and the things on the back shelf are always sharp. Hey Scotty, put the camera on manual focus and set it to the closer distance.
I know people complain about markups. But companies need to make their money too. Plus labor is added in there. If you don't want to pay $400 for a brake job, learn to do it yourself. Brakes are not hard to replace. But you'd rather complain about markups.
If you see that Trump says he will tax them 30% if they move and he becomes President again. That may stop that and then there is the loss in quality because all the vehicles made down there have quality issues. It will kill the brand, so maybe they still won't care to save money.
Both raised MSRP's over 40% since 2019, and yet they still sell. Major (and very public) recalls and quality failures. And they still sell. I can't wrap my brain around what some people are thinking when they are buying new vehicles.
I listen to Scotty 2006 ES 330 1999 RX 300 2002 SC 430 playing with dynamite according to Scotty on that one 😂 2004 Volvo V 70 non-turbo wagon ! 215,000 on the RX 200,000 on the V 70 155,000 on the SC and 150,000 on the ES ! Total spent on all vehicles $23,000 Insurance for all including full coverage on ES plus a couple of others and a motorcycle $250 a month
Crappy parts changers and back yard mechanics woth shops are why ,people just buy new cars after they have problems. Local mechanic gonna rip u off so f it, they just go get another new car. Its how the car manufacturers want it anyways
You obviously know that 3.8L V6 Buick is legendary (in a good way). Everyone's heard about them these days, so it'll be harder to find a "Granny special" at a good price I'd think. But they're still out there probably.

A local roofing company advertised 50-year warranties for their roofs. I looked up how long on average a roofing company lasts; it is 4 years.
Any warranty that the solar company gives on the roof is just the warranty the manufacturer of roof tiles (sleezy scumbags solar guys are)

I have owned nothing but fords and loved them for over 30 years but now I'm going to get a 2010 to 15 Nissan Xterra or pathfinder
Damn you’re endorsing Harris? Yuck!
I have never seen a modern Beetle with a Diesel engine and manual transmission. Did VW sell them in the US?
They are EVERYWHERE in Europe and Germany!
@@manaaalsuwaidi3643 We just got back from Spain, France and Portugal. Very few Beetles on the roads.
I have a 2004 manual,diesel Beetle.
320,000 miles.
Property Tax for a $200,000 house outside of Houston $7,800/yr. That's what No State Income Tax buys you.
Scottys hairdo..1978....never fails
2 families i know here in nj, swear by solar panels. One has 1500sq house pays arounf $80 a month. My buddys 4000sq house with hiant in ground pool. He went from $1000 a month electric bills to under $200 a month. And the power company was paying him some months..??? Maybe they do work and scotty just giving us the negative side of every story?? Im curious
I was looking into a 99 Beamer M3 convertible inline6 S50 engine is it reliable or complete moneypittt 😅
Great channel. The shade you cast on European engineering is not really warranted. The love you show to Asian cars is over-the-top. Much of the tech incorporated in Asian cars is borrowed from German auto engineers.
Crazy Al says: "We've lost our lease...everything must go!"
Hi Scotty, I like to ask a question, what is a good car model, year I want to purchase a car next few months
My wife is wanting a few years old Honda pilot, I saw your other video about the negativity of Hondas. Is the pilot a decent buy tho?
i bought a house battery when i bought my solar, I haven't paid an electric bill in 13 months.
having the darnest time getting my Kia Sorento gdi engine fixed, talk about how screwed up that is
My father in law's 2013 Sorento's 4 cyl. engine just sized with 80k miles. The local KIA dealer is replacing it under a recall. Apparently the 4 cyl. engines had a manufacturing defect which caused them to take a sh*t around 70-80k.
Ahhhh ha! My 2015 beetle just died! My 2006 was pretty reliable
roughly 35,000 Celica's were sold in 1994 roughly 30% of those survive now 30 yrs. later and there's rumors Toyota are Reviving the Celica and MR2 as hybrid and the gas tank will be similar to the ones currently used in the Corolla and Camry which are around 13 Gallons granted a fully loaded Celica weighs 2,600 LBs while for example a Camry Solara SLE V6 from 2002 weighs 3,300 LBs mind you when the 2002 model year started in Sept 2001 the average cost of a gallon of premium Gasoline was $1.68 its now more than doubled to $3.99 and both of those sporty Toyotas require premium fuel
You will not fit electric bikes in the back of a Corolla hatchback, well maybe one. Corolla hatchbacks weren't really designed for the North American market and they're Japanese. The back seat space is smaller than a normal Corolla so even with the seats down you don't get a lot of extra room.
Scotty's got a travelling kitty😂😂😂
Does anyone know why my 2018 sierra gmc runs well when cold but after 10-20 miles I get hard bangs at a stop? Is it 1-2 gear solenoid? All gears had issue until I cleaned the mass area flow connection.
Everyone and there monther moves to Tennessee..nashville has become a typical city over the last 15yrs.
I love how Scotty is always out of focus and the things on the back shelf are always sharp. Hey Scotty, put the camera on manual focus and set it to the closer distance.
That's his makeup 😂
Scotty isn't out of focus. He is just vibrating at such a high energetic frequency that he appears to blur. ;-)
@@chairrider2462 He does seem to otherworldly at times.
California wasting stuff?? Nooooooo never!
A 1 year lease on a Nissan is too long. 😅
can you talk about jaguars? I got a 2004 vdp
Guys don’t approach you because they don’t want your attitude and baggage.
Disregard. Wrong forum.
@@KW-gs2gp LOL. Now I wanna hear the original conversation. haha
Actually, some VW’s use Toyota Aisin 8AT’s. The Taos for 2025, Tiguan, Atlas and non Jetta GLI’s.
(lookin at my watch)...yep, those should start spinning bearings and grenading any second now.
Aisin are very good transmissions.
That solar comment hurt my soul Scotty. Fk that solar company that roped me in lol (I'll be paying that bad boy soon with the tax checks)
25 year lease and the roof will leak after 5.
Is Scotty's Celica for sale?
That is ABZURD!!!
I know people complain about markups. But companies need to make their money too. Plus labor is added in there. If you don't want to pay $400 for a brake job, learn to do it yourself. Brakes are not hard to replace. But you'd rather complain about markups.
So….stop buying what car?
Volkswagen Beetle, Gas and Automatic tranny model.
Yet again, another Newbie
Gas Beetle with auto transmission. He clearly said all that.
Everything besides a Toyota or Lexus.
VW BEETLE, unless it's a diesel with a manual transmission
As soon as I read the thumbnail, I knew it’d be a VW or Audi🤣
Hey Scottie,
What do you think about John Deere trying to go to Mexico?
If you see that Trump says he will tax them 30% if they move and he becomes President again. That may stop that and then there is the loss in quality because all the vehicles made down there have quality issues. It will kill the brand, so maybe they still won't care to save money.
🙋🏽♂️Volvo wagons? Something to avoid?
Beetles are good looking cars…that’s all!
Buy a lathe then let me know how expensive it is to cut a rotor.
Stop buying Kia and Hyundai junk
Both raised MSRP's over 40% since 2019, and yet they still sell. Major (and very public) recalls and quality failures. And they still sell. I can't wrap my brain around what some people are thinking when they are buying new vehicles.
Both are still 10x better than anything Chevy makes.
You think people in this country "think" ? They think like goldfish.
@@PsalmCourierhaha yep.
Thought for sure it would be Toyota 😊
$48 for those pads for a Camry.
I can answer this easily anything made by Land Rover 👍🏽
Scotty what about Mitsubishi?
Scotty, the Utilities want to charge solar homes for storage of the electricity they generate on the grid.😂🤣
8k to fix a beattle ? Not even worth 3 k
Still, put in your solar panels. Batteries are getting amazing. It's a huge change that will change everything.
I want one of those mini-nuke reactors Bill Gates' company is making for my garage. That way I get free electricity at night and on overcast days.
Nissan Altima shitty cvt drop a little over 3k first new car ever bought never again
Your the best 👌 💯
But a 94 sellika or you'll be paying through the wazoo! 😂
Stop Eating Tasty Poplers!😋
Thoughts on the 8th gen Buick lesabre or any vehicle with the 3.8????????
You obviously know that 3.8L V6 Buick is legendary (in a good way). Everyone's heard about them these days, so it'll be harder to find a "Granny special" at a good price I'd think. But they're still out there probably.
The car will fall apart before the engine will.
Best to stay away from any German car
I’ll solar your panel 😒
7:20 that means if you put electricity from your panels to the grees you will have to pay to the state.
